The hotel were helpful and even ran a shuttle bus to nearby chewang. Would stay here again definitely, thanks bandara!

I stayed at the Bandara for 14 nights.

The hotel is right on the front of a very busy road but do not let this ruin your impression of the hotel. I would recommend a deluxe room which is away from the road as it is much quieter and will give you a better nights sleep.

Rececption staff were very helpful and approachable from day 1.

Our room was a deluxe room (626) in the last block over looking the garden pool. It was spotlessly clean throughout our stay. Very comfy bed and crisp clean sheets. Towels were replaced on a daily basis including the beach towels.

You get a bag with towels in your bathroom along with scales, hair dryer, bath, seperate shower and toilet again all very clean.

There is a fridge in the bedroom area alomng with a day bed and normal (think Queen bed), TV and table. Outside on the balcony there is another day bed and take and chairs. There is a light and ceiling fan.

Breakfast had a huge choice, cooked hot Thai food, fruit, hot breakfast, pastries and endless supply of tea/coffee/water. We encounterd a lovely called Meow who served us every day with a smile.

There is a gym and free wifi and 2 pcs available for us.

We did not use the spa as it was quite pricey

There are 3 pools all were lovely but I preferred the plunge pool near the beach as this had shade in the afternoon. There are plenty of sun beds but the hotel does need to provide more umbrellas as they do get in short supply.

Beach bar was well run and not too pricey. There is a lovely bar man called Tai who served us throughtout our trip. The bar food is brilliant and again not too pricey, recommend the Snapper and Beef- very nice.

Room service was also excellent.Portions were big and again priced well.

There is some room for improvement and that is purely decoration as some of the areas were a little tired but this does not spoil your overall enjoyment. Hotel is very quiet in the evening as a lot of people go out to the local fisherman village.

We loved the Bandara.

Room Tip: Deluxe Room 626, nice and quiet and lovely view of the pool

May 7th - May 21st 2012. A big thank you to John MacNeil and the staff of the Bandara. A solid 4* Hotel, where the staff could only be described as FACE ( friendly- approachable- courteous- excellent ). Great accommodation - Great Food- Great location. The only minor irration came from other guests, ie the towels on sun bed brigade, dissappearing for hours on end.The staff are probably to polite and reluctant to stem this practice, which is the only downside, of an altogether fantastic stay.Would not hesitate in recommending the Bandara.

Stayed 6 nights at the bandara resort with my partner. We were really impressed by the whole experience. Breakfast was the best selection I've ever seen. Service was great. 3 lovely big pools. Loads of choice in the restaurant and the rooms were immaculately clean. I really couldn't complain about a thing. Bophut is a nice area with lots of restaurants along the beach so loads of choice and a bit cheaper than the resort.

Stayed at the Bandara Resort and Spa in Koh Samui from 3rd to 13th May on bed and breakfast basis. Lovely hotel, excellent breakfasts with lots of choice of everything you could want. Two Lovely pools with plenty of sun beds.It never felt crowded especially around the large pool by the hotel rooms. The beach was very pretty but the sand very course and not kind on the feet so no pleasure on walking along the sea shore. Lots of very reasonable restaurants just outside the hotel but for a more up market dining experience Fisherman's Village just a 5 to 10 minute walk away offers a very wide choice of excellent restaurants. I would definitely recommend at least up grading to a deluxe room as the superior rooms are on the front of the hotel by a very busy main road and are rather noisy and no good if you are a light sleeper as we found out and after 3 days of poor sleep we upgraded. The staff were all very polite and worked very hard to keep the hotel in tip top condition. The manager was often seen around the hotel and would stop and chat if time allowed. He also holds a regular weekly cocktail party for guests with drinks and nibbles which we felt was a lovely gesture and very enjoyable. All in all a lovely hotel and I would not hesitate in recommending it to others.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are by busy road, end rooms have very poor storage so try to avoid these

We stayed at the Bandara Resort for 12 nights in May for our honeymoon. We booked a pool villa and we were so glad we did as our villa was stunning. The villas are so private and spacious that i would definitely recommend upgrading if you are a honeymoon couple. We originally booked a deluxe room and spent a while umming and ahhing over whether to upgrade - with Kuoni it was about £400 extra to upgrade for 12 nights and it was so worth it we really made use of the private pool and outdoor relaxation area!!!

Honeymoon treatment was lovely too - on arrival we had a bottle of bubbly - a cake and fresh fruit as well as 'Happy Honeymoon' laid on the bed and petals in the bath - just lovely. We also enjoyed breakfast in the villa on our first morning as a honeymoon treat and a free dinner in the beach front restaurant - this is particular was wonderful and the food was gorgeous. You also get serenaded by the resident duo who are fantastic and will sing anything you request!!!

Customer service in the hotel was generally very good although we did find reception to be a bit deserted at times with no concierge being present. Room cleaning was great too and there is a turn down service but be aware that this is done about 5pm. this is usually the time we have come in from the pool and are getting ready for a night out or having a nap/shower so for the first 5 nights we missed this service - turn down service at 7-8 would have been preferable but this is may just be a personal preference!!!

The pool and grounds were beautiful and we spent most time at the beach pools. One niggle was that people did tend to reserve sun beds early morning but not turn up till midday. We even witnessed a confrontation between couples over this which wasn't great. Bandara does have signs with rules saying not to do this but there didn't seem to be any one doing anything about the towels placed on beds which was a little annoying.

The location of Bandara is excellent - 5 minutes walk to Fishermans village and the beach at the front is wonderful. Some reviews have a negative view of the less than powdery beach but we loved it - compared to the gritty beaches in the UK it really is nothing to worry about and do not let this put you off!!! On the beach you have great service from the ladies cooking the chicken satay/spring rolls and sweet corn, the guy with the lolly ices who was lovely and also a young man hiring Jet skis just along.

As mentioned - we really enjoyed dinner at the beach front restaurant. We also enjoyed the Tuesday night bbq and free cocktail party before hand - do this if you can as it is well worth it.

Credit must be given to the lovely men out the front of the hotel (Sea Hawks) who are employed by the hotel as security and to see guests safely across the road and to aid cars in and out of the hotel. They were so lovely and courteous and always had a huge smile and salute for us - Wanchai (I think this was his name) in particular was great.

Overall a great hotel that is fantastic value and full of wonderful friendly staff :-)

Room Tip: Book a villa if you are on honeymoon!

We have just arrived back from a wonderful holiday on Bohput Beach staying in the Bandara Resort and Spa hotel. We had misgivings about going back to Bohput as we had stayed next door in the Bohput Resort and Spa Hotel two years ago, but we thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at this lovely hotel. The grounds are fantastic with lovely swimming pools and the facilities are all super. The staff were all incredibly helpful and we especially found Miaow (yes really!) - our waitress for breakfast so wonderful. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very nice (maybe not quite as luxurious as the 5* Bohput but it is only a four star hotel) - other than this we think the overall experience was fantastic and we would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: upstairs rooms on the side are best as away from the main road
