“What an Amazing Find !”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

By chance the original place we had hoped to stay at in Fisherman's Village was booked and they suggested that maybe the Elysia Boutique Resort would have room.....and WOW were we lucky !
Right from our original introduction to Nathalie, who manages the hotel, through to the day we checked out ,we only had VERY positive experiences in this hotel.
Its brand new, fresh, clean, extremely well appointed and comes with a delicious breakfast delivered to your private patio. The pool is also refreshing and very CLEAN.
They also helped arrange tours and drivers for us......one stop shopping !
All the people who served us in any fashion were first rate.......smiling ,helpful and easy to deal with at all times.
As a real bonus....the price was right as well !
We could have stayed there for weeks .........and will return if we are ever fortunate enough to be on Koh Samui in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground have a private patio!

We stumbled across this place purely by chance when returning from an awful couple of days in Koh Tao. We had originally been in a private villa 10 minutes up the road on our first visit a few days before - and decided to 'wing-it' on our return journey to see what was available when we arrived.

After walking through Fisherman's Village for 5 minutes - we were told about this place and introduced to Nat - who manages the Resort. She showed us around so we could get a feel for the place and within seconds we fell in love with it.

So Elysia Boutique Resort is located at the quieter end of Fisherman's Village - but only about a minutes walk to the main area to be honest. At first look you wouldn't know it's a hotel / resort because it is hidden behind their showroom / office and their Japanese Restaurant.
As soon as you walk down the path between the restaurant / showroom you are presented by a little hidden paradise.
Firstly - the pool. Although I didn't venture in myself - my partner assures me it was like was perfect for cooling down in the hot weather, but not too cold. The area around the pool is immaculate - and a great place to relax during the hot days in Koh Samui.
The apartments are pretty stunning. They are clean and beautifully designed with artwork and little touches that make it really homely to be in.
We stayed on the ground floor next to the pool and with these rooms you get your own courtyard which is gated for privacy. It was a great place to chill with a couple of Singha's after a night out at one of the local restaurants.
Breakfast is included in the price each morning - and you can let Nat know what time you want it each day. It is a more continental breakfast consisting of muesli with yoghurt and a ham + cheese baguette, along with some local fruit. I was a little unsure at first with the choice of breakfast - but it actually works and is really good food. When you spend lunch and dinner eating Thai food - it's really good to be given something different - and also healthy and tasty.
The rooms are also stocked with water / tea / coffee everyday.

The price of the rooms is ridiculously cheap. I've stayed in some pretty basic hotels in some pretty awful places that have been 3 - 4 times the cost of this place.

On a Friday they have their own stall / area in the Fisherman's Village Night Market that's directly outside the showroom. It was packed solid when we returned on Friday evening - but we did stay for about 2 hours to have a couple of beers and Mojitos. Very cheap - and my wife tells me the best mojitos she's ever tasted.

So - the guys that run the place Nat / Pat / Glen. They are all really great. They're not intrusive - but if you have questions or enquiries about anything they are always on hand to assist and give advice.
We were by the pool one morning and Glen popped over to say hi. We asked him about things to do around the island - and literally 5 minutes later he dropped off a handwritten note telling us all the places he recommended to see and do - and what they were. We didn't get through the list - but the places we did try were spot on and he nailed it finding places that suited us.

This was our honeymoon accommodation. It wasn't our first choice - as we were originally staying in a 'luxury' villa in Koh Tao. When that place ended up being a let down and we headed back - this place filled the gap twice over - and we both believe was much nicer than the place we had originally booked.

I wouldn't recommend this place because it is cheap. That's just a bonus. I would recommend this place because:
It is in a great location.
It's still very new and feels very fresh.
It has everything you need on a holiday.
It is run by a really excellent team.

We're already planning our next trip and will be booking with these guys again if there's still vacancies!
