This is my 2nd stay in Atlantis, having stayed in it when it was newly opened. It has never disappointed me. Although some of the management staff have moved on, the owner is still the same friendly one that works hard every morning in making sure the grounds and his guests are kept good and satisfied.
Not a big resort, just the nice number so you do not get the hustle bustle of having to fight the crowd in getting things done. Breakfast is nicely taken facing the morning waves breaking on the private beach. Beach is not ideal for swimming as it is rather rocky and dangerous, but it makes a good private lazing afternoon cove compared to busy Chaweng beach.
Situated on Cheong Mon Beach, Atlantis is up north of busy Chaweng. On motorcycle, it takes a 10-15min leisure ride. Riding to Fisherman's Village is also not too much of a distance on 2 wheeler. For the adventurous, I recommend the motorcycle as a good way to explore the island as it allows flexibility and convenience of going wherever you desire. The map is easily navigated and it is very much one big round the entire island or if you break away into the smaller sections, they are easily memorized and navigated after an afternoon of riding. Thai drivers are generally patient and do give way to tourist on bikes or other vehicles. It is generally the foreigners...This is my 2nd stay in Atlantis, having stayed in it when it was newly opened. It has never disappointed me. Atlantis Resort features a decent sized bed room and bath. Sea view bungalows are amazing and perfect as it directly faces the sea and gives you great sound of the waves breaking thus putting you to instant sleep mode every night.
The staff are friendly and will attempt to help you in problems you may face.
Overall, I will continue staying on Atlantis as it gives the privacy I desire, the friendliness and trust of the staff emitted by the staff and the convenience of popping into town easily.
A resort and holiday place I definitely go to again and again. And yeh, one of the places I get to fire my own fireworks into the beautiful night skyMore
