We chose Boschi di Montecalvi as our wedding location for its beautiful and tasteful property, good location (Pisa airport is only an one hour drive away, the sea with its blue flagged beaches only 25 minutes) and also for the very warmhearted contact with Giada from the first minute on. We rented the whole location for our around 30 guests, plus 5 kids and some dogs (Boschi can take more guests, as there are also very comfortable sleeping sofas in the living rooms). What can I say- our wedding weekend couldn't have been more perfect! Guest arrived on friday and the moment they put their feet on Boschi's ground, everybody was immediately relaxed, enjoyed the pool and the beautiful garden. It was just amazing to have the whole property and Giada went beyond herself to make everything possible for us. The food, from the homemade breakfast to the tuscan buffet on friday evening and the wedding dinner on saturday evening was just extremely delicious and the aperitivo we had by the pool on saturday before diner was picture perfect! Giada and the cooks Renata and Franca helped us chosing the food, wine and any other beverages, and we really felt like sitting with people loving the tuscan food culture with their whole heart. What we also really really enjoyed was to have the big, tuscan villa as a meeting point for everybody during the day, what was perfect for the group. We prepared little snacks during the day and the shady terrace invited people to relax. I can't imagine a better location for an intimate, relaxed wedding, because Boschi has so much beauty and calm that everybody felt at home and still we had the possibility to create a more festive atmosphere for the celebration on saturday with flowers and candles. Thank you so much Giada for our dream wedding coming true!!!

Located up in the hills and accessed via a small windy road – watch the potholes! The view is wonderful especially from the infinity pool.

Breakfast is perfectly adequate if you opt to take it. Usual items such as bread, butter, jam, minimal cereals, an Italian cake, biscuits, crackers, plain yoghurt, dried fruits and fresh fruit. Coffee is not great if you are a connoisseur. There is tea if you prefer.

The dinner (when the Bosci restaurant is open) was wonderful. It is a set four course menu and used local produce. We opted for red wine which was very nice. It is not cheap but nice as a treat.

We stayed in room “Quattro”. Situated on the first floor, front of the building for all day sun. Kitchen was adequate although there was not the advertised microwave. No cleaning supplies and only one bin bag (and one toilet roll) supplied. The room size is well suited to a family of three however anymore and it feels cramped. The bathroom is poorly lit and the water ….. well scorching in the evening and cold in the morning. No in between! Very difficult to wash small children. Please note that the water is brown so for drinking you may prefer to bring bottled water. Wifi is best outside but even then it is sloooww.

There is a Coop and a Conad not far away for food/supplies.

The list of restaurants supplied by Giada were great and definitely advisable to have a GPS to find them.

We tried several beaches – you need to be early to be able to avoid the chaos of parking. The Baratti for us was unpleasant – strong urine smell at the top of steps, beach quite dirty and the sea whilst not dirty, had a lot of floating sea debris. The Carbonifera was a long beach with several options on places to sit. It was much more exposed and therefore the breeze was quite strong so that many parasols, if not anchored securely, were blowing away. Our favourite was quite a drive away but it was at Punt Ala. Get there early and pay the EUR40 for the sun chairs, front row. The beach is spotless, great lifeguard, less hassle from beach sellers and there is a great little café and restaurant.

We rarely saw Giada but we did have her number if we needed. The staff at breakfast were lovely and the gardeners were super – one even giving us some great recommendations.

Overall a great place for a couple or family (with older children)

Room tip: Ground floor rooms have access to a terrace and seating which is lovely if you want to sit out of an evening (when the kids are sleeping).

We spend some days at Boschi di Montecalvi and it really is the perfect hideaway. After getting up the hill over tiny streets you enter the beautiful farm with the garden full of trees and flowers. The rooms are cosy and very nicely decorated in typical, but modern tuscan style. It is so quiet here and we felt perfectly relaxed from the first moment on. Giada, the manager welcomed us so warmly and gave us all the great suggestions for the region, restaurants with terrific terrasses and great food, beautiful beaches and tiny medieval villages- and she also warns you of the tourist traps. We will definitevely come back next year!

Giada was amazing, I got picked up from the airport and shuttled out to the villa, eating there on location was such a great treat, then just lounging by the pool, taking hikes through the woods and nature areas, it was genuinely one of the most relaxing weeks I've had. The staff was so great, very kind and thoughtful, made it awesome.

Room tip: The wifi isn't great everywhere, but it reaches most places. Enough to check in, but don't plan on spending all day on the internet

This is an absolutely magical location. Giada and the staff take the concept of service and attention to detail to the next level. I was here with a few business leaders and I know that we were not easy guests here, which made the service and the location all the more amazing. Food was outstanding. I can't wait to come back with some friends and family.
