This agritrattoria is someone's home in Scarlino. It's tricky to get to, but the owner and her husband were very helpful in guiding us to get there. The patio with rustic dining tables makes for the perfect summer dining spot. There is no menu, she just cooks what's in season with so much skill and care.
The night we dined there, the first course was a table full of charcuterie meats, fresh homemade cheeses including a ricotta mixed with onion and black pepper that I can still taste as I write this. She brought fresh tomatoes, fried sage leaves and these amazing parmesan puffed pastries of which I ate at least 5. The next course was eggplant followed by a roast duck. I'm vegetarian so she brought me a tomato and mozzarella plate, which was perfect. By that time I was stuffed. Desserts were wonderful as well and the wines were local and delicious. If you are staying within 30 miles of this place, go. It's a delicious and wonderful experience.
