We decided to spend our week-long honeymoon in this lovely house and we were mighty glad we did! It's a beautiful spot - lovely green, big spacious garden, nice friendly neighbours, great local towns and the fabulous river just on the doorstep. We headed out for day trips to towns in the Pyrenees too, which was really nice, but mainly we just enjoyed being in this beautiful house, full of character, drinking much cheese and wine! Everything we could have needed was there - great barbeque action, plus the bathroom is lovely - and the weather, although changeable, was mostly absolutely scorching. We also really appreciated the bikes and went on a daily road trip to collect out croissants! A very high recommendation from us newlyweds!

Maysonnave was a perfect holiday house for us. It is ideal for two people as it is not too large, but it is in a very quiet secluded spot with plenty of space both inside and out. It is beautifully finished and contains all the facilities you could possibly need, including wifi.
It is very well located for this beautiful part of the Bearn, with several lovely market towns (Sauveterre, Salies, Navarrenx) just a short drive away, and both the mountains and the sea easily in reach.
Recommended.
This is the second time we have stayed here and it was somehow an improvement on our last visit. Great quiet location, close to the mountains, rivers, villages and even Spain! Very well maintained property that now offers wi-fi and satellite tv (should you wish!) Would highly recommend :-)

We stayed in the little house for 3 weeks and had a fabulous holiday. The location is fantastic with beaches, villages, Spain, rivers, larger towns all close by and the house itself is well equipped, cosy and just idyllic. Whether it was meals in the garden or snuggled up in front of the fire, the house was beautiful. We would certainly go back!
After travelling to the Béarnaise region on my quest to find the mythical Foxbat (Vulpas Megachiroptera), I heard of sightings in the area of Sauveterre de Bearn. I hired a new Golf (remembering the handbrake issue) and set off.
I stayed at the Little House again (after previously staying a year or two before) and was delighted to find the place as immaculate and homely as ever, this time with a few more mod-cons! Wifi Internet has been added as has satellite TV. This is a special place and a perfect retreat for those looking to get away from it all.
It turned out to be an awful choice for the Foxbat hunter, however, as I found nothing. I still have yet to sight one of the elusive creatures but will be trying again next year. Romania is supposedly rife with them from October onwards.
This was our second stay at the little house & was every bit as enjoyable as the first, if not more! We traveled down to the house via an overnight stop in Bordeaux (highly recommended!) having stayed with family approx 4 hours north of the little house the week before. As before everything was in excellent order which makes relaxing all the more easier. The local village is great for somewhere to eat in the evenings, to grab a drink after a walk or some supplies from the local supermarket & bakery. We also took in a day trip to San Sebastian this time round (only a 90 min drive away) as well as the local market in Salies-de-Bearn which are both a must if you're staying here. Needless to say, we look forward to staying at the little house in the future!

We spent one week in this very pleasant, recently (2012) refurbished house. The house is very comfortable and includes everything you might need during your stay. The kitchen is well equipped. The living room is very cosy. The bathroom is amazing. The double room is nice and comfortable although the mattress could be better and the bed less noisy. The garden is big and furnished. But most importantly, there is a beautiful river just 2 minutes walking where you can refresh yourself or contemplate the nature, amazing!!
The nearby village, Sauveterre de Béarn is very quaint and pleasant, not crowded at all with beautiful middle age buildings and a nice café under a tree with smiling staff and live music once or twice a week. The region is absolutely beautiful and offers loads of opportunities if you like moutains, forests and rivers.
