Stephane really cares about making sure you are taken care of. When we arrived, he gave us a choice of which room we would like to stay in which I have never experienced before. He prepared an amazing fresh and delicious breakfast poolside every morning when we chose to eat. He suggested a restaurant and made dinner reservations for us as well as took us to a huge market, and gave us a personal tour of everything we should know when buying from a market vendor. The accommodation was excellent, we had a king size bed in a very large immaculately clean room with a large modern bathroom. The Chateau is beautiful with beautiful furnishings and landscaping. A real retreat! On top of it all, Stephane, who is also a chef has given me helpful information about some favorite French recipes I was interested in. We also enjoyed getting to know Stephane, as he is a wealth of knowledge and talking with him was an interesting insight into French life.

Room Tip: We stayed in the front bedroom with a lot of good light.

Just back from a glorious couple of days at Chateau St Jacques Calon, one of the best bed and breakfast experiences I can remember. Great to have direct access to the first class pool from the french doors into the very clean and beautifully presented bedroom, and felt like having a chateau to ourselves. Stephane is a consummate host, with kind and thoughtful restaurant recommendations and local secret knowledge which he's delighted to share - all round it's clear how much he genuinely care that his guests have a wonderful and memorable visit. Top marks!

Large rooms, clean, with wi-fi. Direct access to the pool. It's a wonderfull place to stay for one night or one week. St Emilion is only 3 kms from the Chateau.
Stephane's recommendations for visits, wine tourism and dinner were very usefull !

Room Tip: 2 rooms have direct access to the pool !

The Chateau St. Jacques Calon was a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the French countryside. It was quiet, clean and oozing with French charm. The breakfast was delicious. The gardens and pool were beautifully manicured and well kept. A path behind the garden brings you right up into the vineyards, where you will find a group of old windmills. It is possible to climb to the top of one of them and the view that awaits you is like none other. Magnificent!
Stéphane was a friendly and most helpful host. He set up spa treatments, wine-tasting, made dinner reservations and even took us on a private tour through the farmers market in Libourne.
Although tucked between the vineyards, the chateau is not far from any of the surrounding towns. Making this a perfect location to stay and explore.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base for a cycling tour around the Bordeaux region. Although the chateau is only about 30 years old it still embodies the elegance and style of the region. Stephane was a fantastic host, making sure we had everything we needed and making bookings at local restaurants and cellars for us, all of which proved to be very enjoyable experiences.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice of ham, cheese, bread, patisseries, fruit, tea, coffee and juice. You could easily skip lunch with the banquet that Stephane prepared each morning.

The Chateau St. Jacques Callon is head and shoulders above any other B&B we've ever stayed at. Superb attention to detail. Genuinely caring and friendly hosts. Spectacular setting and location. Awesome advice and recommendations for restaurants, wineries, and sights. Six minutes from St. Emillion and its hundreds of vineyards. The big difference is Stephane Gabart's long experince rising through the global ranks at the Ritz Carlton group. It shows in every element of the B&B.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Château Saint Jacques Calon. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Stéphane looked after us with delicious breakfast each morning in their lovely Château. We could not have asked for a more helpful host....great restaurant tips for the area as well as sightseeing and wine tasting tips! This was a great location to explore Bordeaux and the St-Emilion area as it is under 1 hour from Bordeaux and 10 minutes to the gorgeous town of St-Emilion with many of the Châteaus/vineyards in and around the area as well.
