We stayed at Benmore Lodge for two nights while traveling with Sunway Safaris. The lodge we shared with another couple, featured two bedrooms, a large open area for kitchen and eating area in addition to a sitting area. It has a nice rural setting, and some game and birds can be observed from the large veranda. The night that we arrived, there was storm and heavy rain, which blew right through a hole in the front door where a piece of glass should have been. After going back to the manager's cottage in the driving rain, and having to convince him that repairs really could not wait until the morning, did he come out, and fixed it with some cardboard, promising to fix it the next day which did not happen. Only two towels were given out, and when we asked for more, as well as some dish cloths, they were given reluctantly, because, as we were told "people steal them anyway".
The water is not potable, so you should bring your own drinking water. The water that is available is very murky, and leaves brown residue on the towel. Also, the TV does not work, because "it needs a box".
Benmore Lodge has a lot of potential, but it need some serious commitments from the owner to make it work.
