This is a lovely hotel to stay in. The food is excellent, the room we had was lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Silloth is a very quaint place with lovely little shops and lots of walks. Don't pass it by stop and enjoy it. We certainly did

Room Tip: We had one overlooking the sea. We had no trouble with noise and we had the window open all night

My wife and I stayed for one night. The staff were very friendly and our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent.
This hotel was good value for money and we would stay again. As other people have stated, it looks a bit tired from the outside but don't let that put you off.

Room was very nice (although we were at the back overlooking rooftops). Food was delicious and the staff very helpfull and friendly. I have relatives in the area and will definitely use The Golf again.

Room Tip: I have some arthritis and found the walk up to the room on the top floor a bit much, stairs on last...

We took advantage of the Spring break offer (dinner, bed and breakfast) during the week leading up to Easter, staying for 3 nights. Our first impression of the hotel from the outside was that it looked like it needed a refurbishment, but once inside, everything was amazing.

Our room overlooked the green and afforded some views over the sea to Scotland, and we could also keep an eye on our car parked below, by the front door. The only downside to this being the we could hear the rumble of heavy lorries going to and from the port from 6am each morning, but we were pre-warned of this and were provided with free ear plugs.

The food, both at breakfast and dinner, was amazing. There was a wide choice of each course, and everything was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent, with all the staff being particularly attentive and helpful. We must especially mention Vicky, who was working behind the bar and serving tables in the restaurant each evening. She was especially friendly and helpful.

If we had a small complaint, it would be the quite early check out time of 10.30am. A charge of 20 pounds is expected for late check out, and as last breakfast orders are 9.30am, this could leave little time to pack up and check out.

We were really pleased to have booked a break inclusive of evening meals, as there appeared to be few other establishments offering evening dining in the town.

The room was clean and our room 24 was large. Rooms on the second floor where we were needs to be updated but I know that is on the pipeline.

The food in this Hotel is amazing and the service 1st class.

Room Tip: Ask for the executive rooms little extra but have been upgraded.
