Booked for a family reunion. What a fab house. Comfortable beds, wi-fi and a huge tele which kept the kids happy and great location. Views over the golf course and few mins walk to the shops. Could'nt have asked for more. Would def rebook.

“The best rental we've stayed in.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

What a fantastic little gem Prospect house is. The photos don't do it justice,it has high quality furniture and beds, loads of room for a family holiday, all you need is there from crockery to pots and pans.Shaun the owner was on hand if we needed anything ,and could'nt have been more helpful,as whilst we were there the weather was really bad all over england and we had power cuts,he supplied us with candles, enough for every room if we wanted.Luckily the power was only off for a short time.
So i would reccomend Prospect house for a lovely home from home stay at a reasonable cost.

“Just Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

I cannot recommend this place enough. The host was fantastic even though we were early he arranged for someone to meet us with the key to the property. All the way through the holiday he was fantastic. The property itself is very large and suitable for a large family it overlooks the beautiful golf course and ocean behind. It was just ideal for a quiet retreat but close enough to all the amenities that you would need.

“Go for it......”

Clean and welcoming, good quality mattresses, sheets and towels. Very spacious comfortable accommodation. Location is good for travelling to the Lakes, Cumbria and Scotland. Lots to do for all walks of life come rain or shine.
We shall return to explore the area further and look forward to staying at Prospect House in comfort again in the future. There are many caravan sites nearby providing accommodation for tourists, however I can not see the attraction to being cramped in a caravan the size of just one of the four bedrooms this house has to offer and for similar money. I only hope I can get booked in again after I write this review!
Silloth on the Solway, on the Cumbrian west coast (I had to google where it was as I had never heard of it), with views of Scotland over the water on a clear day. In the sunshine, it is a delight, pretty pastel coloured buildings edging an award winning 'Green' featuring a water fountain area with jet guns and tipping water buckets. I liked the fact that it wasn't over commercialised - I originate from Scarborough where this olde worlde charm has long since been lost.

The villagers were all friendly and welcoming. There is everything necessary for your break away, a smattering of shops, from groceries to gifts- including the traditional ice cream parlour and the fish and chip shop (serving gluten free batter, cider vinegar and g/f rolls on request ). We had a fantastic meal at the Golf Hotel (don't judge on external appearance, the menu and food was exceptional, for both adults and children (hand made fish fingers and chicken sticks for the children.)
As we were unfamiliar with the area, we were surprised to discover the chain food pubs (so often found on the east coast) were missing from the area and a scant village pub serving food was the norm. Although half the fun was finding great new places to eat, we mentioned the lack of pub grub places at the end of our trip to the owner Shaun and he is looking to add a section to the welcome pack - recommending places to eat out.
I also suggested adding a page for visitors to contribute comments about the accommodation and places they recommend for days out
e.g I would recommend The Puzzling Place, Keswick for all except disabled. Tullie House museum at Carlisle for all - on a rainy afternoon there was plenty to keep three children 7, 10 &12 (plus adults) occupied for a good three hours. We still want to visit Carlisle Castle and the Park opposite :) as well as Hadrians Wall. Also Ravensglass 'Ratty' railway, quite a distance to travel down the coast but the kids enjoyed a stop off crab pooling in the evening light on the journey 'home'. And of course a day in and around Silloth's attractions.

What improvements for this accommodation would I suggest?
I would be being pedantic as it was lovely and also we got an excellent last minute deal, so some of these little extras may be provided in the peak rate times anyway!
However to make our stay slightly easier, I would suggest an extra oven rack and/or additional grill to cook on - it was a struggle to cook chops and chips, for five people with an oven rack and the grill pan in the oven. If there was any more of us it would have to have been cooked in two sittings.
Also, although fruit cake (yum!) and tea & coffee supplies were there for our arrival - I would suggest little things like tin foil, cooking oil, vinegar, ketchup etc would have been helpful store cupboard necessities and hand soap for the bathrooms. These would have taken an already excellent accommodation to five star across the board, even without these extras we had a fabulous stay!

The owner Shaun could not have been more helpful, polite and accommodating, available (had we needed him) and comfortably distant when we didn't - couldn't ask for a better host!

“Delightful Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2013 for a stay in June 2013

This was the most comfortable house we have stayed in on our holidays, a real home from home. A perfect base for exploring the lakes, we loved it so much we are going back next year. The bedrooms were light and airy and every room was cleaned to a really high standard. We all made the most of the local amenites and enjoyed walking along the seafront.
