“My Favourite Place In Turkey”
Reviewed 21 November 2010

Very vibrant evolving place.
Family friendly with great safe beaches.
A new marina has opened and is a massive attribute to the area.
There is a great fun fair aqua park go kart track and a massive range of amenities.
The shopping is great especially for clothing.

“Turkey Hell on Earth for animals”
Reviewed 3 August 2010

It is illegal under Turkish law to forceably remove any dogs that have been neutered from the streets, Unless it is proven that any particular dog is dangerous , then by law it must be humanely pts. This is NOT what is happening !
On an almost daily basis, dogs are taken then either dumped in remote places to die of hunger and thirst, or poisoned which takes days of suffering before they eventually die, Some are shot , this usually takes 5-6 shots to bring the dog " down " , Many then are buried in mass graves , some still alive !
These are not wild dogs - They are street dogs, Most all of them ear-tagged , which means they have been neutered. Many are known to locals and tourists , they live amongst and interact well with people.
Many tourists look forward to returning to the same place year after year and look for the dogs they have met on previous visits, Some are lucky " their " dog may have survived, But many do not.
This killing is unacceptable,
In light of recent events in which large numbers of dogs have " disappeared " all of which were neutered dogs , Concerned people from around the World have got together and organised the following rallies ,
Please support them

Thank you

SAMPLE
Dear Sir,

As a regular visitor to Altinkum, Didim Turkey, I , my family and friends have been both shocked and horrified to learn of the recent removal of a number of dogs form the area,

Apparently these dogs have been taken to places unknown far into the mountains, where they were left with the intention that they will eventually starve to death, This is totally unacceptable behaviour in a civilised country. and i urge you to fully investigate the matter.

We Have known many of Didims dogs for several years and always look for them when we return, We also support the neuter and release shelter in Didim , which does a marvelous work looking after the dogs with the aid of many British and Turkish volunteers , all of whom are now deeply upset regarding the recent round up of dogs.

I hope you will give this matter your upmost concern,

I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely

“Yasmin Gardens - Akbuk”
Reviewed 5 February 2009

We stayed at Yasmin Gardens in Akbuk in September - fantastic. Akbuk is a small, friendly town on the coast near Didim. Home to loads of great Turkish restaurants, and a few beach front bars and hotels. Yasmin Gardens offers very relaxing accomadation not far from the sea and a short walk from someof the great restaurants in Akbuk. The houses/flats are of a great standard and If you want a quieter resort than Altinkum, but with all the character of a stay in Turkey, then you won't go far wrong.
