“We feel it's a magic place...”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

... with a rude and bad restaurant. At least they were rude to me. I have a very bad experience with the restaurant in one of the evenings... but it was bad in general all the days.

Let's start...

I was been there in end-year 2007 without kids at that time. Only with my wife.
Now we are planning to return there soon, to same hotel with both our kids.

The hotel is big , pleasant and very nice to the eyes. Exactly was we imagine from the fairy tails. It indeed seems it was taken from a fairy tail.
As this was in Xmas season, i am willing to see how it looks like in other period of the year.... To see if the 'magic' continues in 'the air'...

I loved the hotel. The lobby, a big and nice fire place with the fire crackle on it... the big stairways to the first floor, the colors, the decoration, the big and large corridors the halls, ... very nice .

About personnel :
- The people in the main lobby and manager of the hotel i have to speak with were great and always nice.
- The hotel restaurant persons not. They are always rude, not happy , with a bad face like if you 'were owning them money' (if you understand that expression).

The attendance:
- the lobby general attendance was fair. It was Xmas season... lots of people coming in and out all the time... i understand they can't do miracle (in spite of the magical felling place). We had to wait several times. Everytime we need something from the lobby desks. But they had always a smile.
- the hotel restaurant: bad. very bad ! We waited a lot to be seated, we asked some particular table, they were rude, they don't want to care , they told us 'or it was that table they mentioned or we have to wait 1 hour' .... amazing and completely stupid guys ! Well, we seated were they mentioned and wait... and wait... and wait more... and ask for someone, and ask for someone... :( It was very bad and the meal was nothing special. I was not happy and the meal was not good. Probably because of their attendance too. So many people that wants to work and Disneyland Hotel have to bad people working in there ! Amazing... This is a relief..

Them we were tired of awaiting to clarify at the end of the meal if we had to pay something extra or if this goes to room bill or if we had to pay at front right now but... no one attended us. No one cares about us. So, i decided to leave the table and the restaurant ... only then and suddenly... i was blocked at the door the restaurant by one of those stupid guys (the restaurant manager at that time and day (shift) ?!) that with rude manners again told me i had to pay for the dinner ! Can you imagine that ???? Like if my intention was to run away without paying ! This is what i left. Of course the conversation with that guy was impossible... Also o was tired of so many rudeness...

I paid by CC and in next morning i asked to speak with managing.... It was a lady , she attended me well and polite way. I explained what happened and i complained about everything that happened in the restaurant last night. My feeling is that she understood but wouldn't do nothing.... What i don't understand because they must have a scheduling. They surely knew what was the people working last night and what was the shift restaurant manager during that time. Puff.... I decided to leave it was it was. She offered me a drink and many sorries and it was ended like that.
BUT i didn't forgot that part until know ! And i will not forget.
Let's see what happens next time. Next time i will be better prepared. Taking notes of names and hours. I will fill in official complains if required. They will see.

This is an expensive hotel. I was expecting much more.
A 5 ***** hotel cannot have such a situation! I had 5 ***** services in smaller places already.

The hotel rooms are normal. Nothing special. The 'magic' it's only outside. In the common areas. Not inside the rooms.

I know the hotel have a special (more expensive) wing called 'The Castle' were they have a private hotel inside Disneyland Hotel itself (private lobby with reception desk, private photos with Disney characters, private restaurant, other rooms, etc...) . So, maybe in that part of the hotel the things are better ?!?!? I wasn't there as it was a very expensive place to me.

Still, this is a very nice hotel and you must visit and stay there once. At least during Xmas it is nice.

Be prepared for the restaurant personnel rudeness and to wait ! or... go to try other restaurants or Disneyland Park itself restaurants (but i guess in most of them you have to book at front). Good luck with this part !

This hotel is situated on top of Disneyland Park entrance so, it's a excellent location to be. Everytime you need to go to your room, you are very close from it. You can enter and go out easily and very fast.

Everything else (i mean, except the restaurant and meals) i liked very much.

Despite its price, by far it's the worse of all disneyland paris hotel. Staff are rude, rooms are worn-out, concierge service is limited. Unlike other hotels, you have to hire a transportation for LaVallee shopping outlet and it takes almost half an hour to reach! Breakfast is a mess & food served is bad

Went there in 2011 with our two small girls. It was like they say " MAGICAL DISNEY ", the Hotel is if we are in a Fairy Tail, the lobby show and give us immediately that feeling. It's a 5 star hotel with all the excellent things that it usually brings, inside the Park, which is an advantage, big one with small kids, lots of things appending during the day, great Buffet Restaurant, and all the Disney Caracters wandering around all day , giving autographs to the kids. In one word, EXCELLENT.

Booked the room for our family with 3 kids for first week of May, paid insurance for cancellation. For medical reasons had to cancel the trip. You have to make phone calls to process your cancellations and than await the answer from insurance company for weeks... Very bad service, 2 weeks already processing the case.

Our room was more than comfortable for 5 people. The hotel is all about the great location with just steps to disneyland, enjoyed the included breakfast but the pool is a disappointment - small and no cocktail service

My family and I have been lucky enough to stay in this hotel 3 times and each time we have never been disappointed. It is expensive so if you want to book this one try to hang off for a good deal such as 30% off etc. It is really worth the extra money though, The hotel is actually part of the entrance to Disneyland Park so location is fantastic and handy for kids with prams or guests with disabilities as if you need to go back to the room to drop off or pick things up your are only a few short minutes walk if that. The minute you enter the hotel you immediately gasp, everything from the bright colours, the amazing fireplace, the staircase even the smell of the hotel is magical (no joke I have tried to find a similar air freshener scent and had no such luck) There are many points in the day where characters roam the prmises posing for photos and signing autographs. The staff are friendly and helpful and often have little suprises like balloons and badges for the kids at check in. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated as are the hallways and public areas. The beds are comfortable and the throw over the duvet is beautiful (I really wanted to bring one home) There are no tea / coffee facilities in the Rooms although im not sure if this may be requested. The bathrooms again are beautiful, you even have a know beside the toilet to listen to the TV while using it (this made me laugh but I least I wont miss a bit of the show im watching while relaxing at night!) Not a great deal of English channels on TV but realistically how much time will you spend in your room when visiting Disneyland Paris? Hairdryers, toiletries, bathrobes and slippers are all supplied, childrens robes and slippers can be requested at reception should you wish them for swimming. The hotel also has a games arcade, kids corner / play area, spa, swimming pool and Jacuzzi oh and not to mention the fabulous gift shop. Also provides a shopping service where you can buy from any shop in the park and have your goods delivered to your hotel so you don't have to carry them! Added magic with character chocolate coins left on your bed after room service has visited. All in all we had an absolutely magical stay here and hope to visit again soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony / patio if you can some of these are located on ground floor :)

This was our first trip to Disneyland Paris and Disneyland Hotel.
Expectations were high as this hotel doesn't come cheap. We had booked a Junior Suite in the Castle Club and the price for the room for 1 night, including 2 days entrance to both parks, was close to EUR 2000. On one hand we thought this was crazy expensive but on the other we had the opinion that if we were going to Disneyland we should do it "the right way".

We had done pretty much research ahead and knew what the hotel and Castle club had to offer. Also, we had through the assistance of the Disneyland Hotel suites department, book "welcome packages" (including autograph books, pens, balloons, cups etc.) for the kids.

When we arrived with the TGV to the train station in Disneyland, after a comfortable trip of 9 minutes from Charles De Gaulle Airport, we just went to the second floor in the train station to the check-in of Express Luggage Service. Here we dropped our bags and got entrance tickets to the parks, lunch vouchers etc. The kids also got the first part of their welcome package, containing autograph books and pens (as we were heading straight to the park and were also going to meet the Princesses for lunch). Honestly I was a little bit surprised that the staff from Disneyland Hotel and the suite department had remembered this little detail (that it should be given to the girls at the Express Luggage Service). This service is great however, one should know that the staff at the Express Luggage Service are not as informative as the staff in the reception when it comes to explaining the parks (something which would have been useful as many use this service to be able to go straight to the parks). Also we let them know that even though we paid for the return with Express Luggage Service, this was not needed as we had transfer booked with a car from the hotel the next day.

We spent the first day in the Disneyland Park which was great, especially as we had VIP fast passes which meant that we could skip the line for several attractions (the VIP Fast Pass works unlimited on certain attractions from 10.30AM all day.)

At noon we had lunch with the Princesses at Auberge de Cendrillon. Again, we thought this was a rather expensive experience and what was very clear was that you paid to meet the Princesses, not for the service and definitely not for the food.

Around 2.20PM they rang us from the Castle Club reception to let us know our room was done and ready for check-in. We were asked to let someone in the reception know that we needed to go to the Castle Club reception. Again, we were surprised that this detail (to call us) was remembered.

As we had been up early the five year old wanted to rest her legs a bit so we went straight to the hotel to get our room.

The entrance and the reception of the Disneyland Hotel was stunning and we asked the first person who worked there about how to get to the Castle Club reception, unfortunately he didn't seem to know what it was, so we walked over to the reception where we had more luck. Apparently they were expecting our arrival and a nice girl took us to the reception of the Castle Club. Here checkin was haste free and all staff very friendly and informative. They took us to the room, which in my opinion was surprisingly close to the Castle Club Lounge (the Junior Suites are to be located in the wings of the hotel, rather far away.). However, when opening the door to our room the lady explained that we had been upgraded to Walt's Suite and this is was also closer to the Castle Club Lounge.

Walt's suite was fantastic! 2 big rooms, a huge bathroom with toilet, double sink, shower, bathtub, a separate toilet, complimentary water bottles and coffee (nespresso)/tea making facilities and 3 balconies overlooking the entrance area. The room was very fresh and tidy. The kids also found the second part of their welcome packages including even some extra stuff (like stuffed animals, more autograph books and pens which we hadn't ordered and that wasn't charged), they were thrilled. We also received a bottle of Champagne and a very nice cup with Cinderella on it.

After freshening up we headed to the Afternoon Tea served in the Castle Club Lounge. This was great! There was something for everyone; sandwiches, cakes, fruit salad etc. We all enjoyed this a lot.

When done with the Afternoon Tea we went to see the parade in the park and to go on some more rides.

Initially we had booked a table at King Ludwig's Castle for dinner, but as we got a larger suite with dining area we changed our minds and had room service dinner instead. This way we could eat in peace and re-charge for the Disney Dreams show (which I think is rather late, at 10PM, especially for smaller kids who have been exploring the park all day). Room service dinner was good and delivered on time!

Prior going to see the show the kids and I went to swim in the swimming pool. The pool area was nice, and water temperature good, around maybe 25-26 degrees Celsius. At this time in the evening the pool was not crowded at all.
While we were gone they had done the turn down service in the room and transformed the sofa into a bed. The kids found nice golden chocolate coins everywhere.

The next morning we were up early again and had breakfast in the Castle Club Lounge. Again, this was great with many, many Disney characters coming to visit. However, one should know that if you have small girls who want to meet the princesses, you need to book the lunch at the Auberge de Cendrillion as in the Castle Club Lounge there are only other characters, no princesses.

At 11AM, we went back to our room to pack our bags and check-out. This went very smooth and we were tol just to leave all bags in the room.

At 4PM we went back to the hotel to await our transfer which arrived on time (we used Black Lane Limousine Services which I can highly recommend). Unfortunately there had been a small screw up and our bags had been sent to the Express Luggage Service in the train station again, even though we had pointed out both at check-in at the Express Luggage Service and at check-in in the Castle Club reception that this wasn't needed. However, the bell boy sorted it out rather smoothly asking the staff of the Express Luggage Service to bring our stuff to the street and wait for us and the car. So after doing a little detour to pick up our luggage we were in the car heading for the city of Paris.

If going to Disneyland Paris we highly recommend that you stay in the Disneyland Hotel. It is very close to the park (on top of the entrance!) and the only hotel located within the security area.

The hotel itself is very nice and staff friendly. If you can afford it we strongly suggest that you book a room in the Castle Club, the extras you get out of this is really what makes the hotel.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the staff at the suites department (phone booking) and especially "Marc" who made all our arrangements and saw to that nothing was missed!

So, the key question; Do we think it was worth it? The answer is simple: DEFINITELY!

Room Tip: Book rooms on the Castle Club floor!
