Had a 3 night stay over a weekend, couldn't really fault the hotel at the price....staff were good, rooms clean, breakfast really good, close to the disney parks.

Only bad thing i had to ask for a cot to be put in the room twice! let them off for that one!

We decided to push the boat out to get near the park. Be warned that it is still quite a hike with a little one (we have a 4 year old-too big for buggy but too small to walk far a happily). It took us about 35-40 mins to get from the hotel, through Disneyland Village, up to the entrance gates, through main square and main street and into a park and a ride. (an adult might do it in 20). This means you have to leave the hotel at 7.20am to maximize use of early bird tickets!!
We found our check in very impersonal-we had the feeling that we were part of a long conveyor belt of people being herded through the process by jaded staff. We were given a small amount of information very briefly. We could have done with a programme of events at this point and closures so that we could plan effectively. Our room was ordinary with a view of the carpark and very little to nod to the Disney theme. The bathroom was a bit mouldy but the water pressure was good. The lighting was inadequate in the room and the hotel heating is a constant hum. The WIFI is not free. The breakfast buffet was good but we had to queue down the corridor for a table which is very frustrating when you get up early to dash to the park. When we came to check out we were surprised to be handed a bill since we had paid in full in advance. It was 21.99euro for room service we had not had. The receptionist did not apologise and kept us waiting for her superior for 20 minutes. In the end we got fed up and said we were wasting precious park hours and went to have breakfast saying we would come back in 15 minutes. When we went back the staff at reception knew nothing about the problem and just did a refund on the bill with no explanation or apology. It left us wondering how many people might have just paid it. We don't mind a bit of scruffiness, but we like a warm informative welcome, and we want to be made to feel special even if the staff do it every day. If you want to feel that, and get the location, then you will have to fork out for the Disneyland hotel.

Room Tip: Ask to be on the park side, not the carpark side.

The Disney hotels win hands down on convenience, and really this is what we were paying for when booking the hotel - the ability to be near the parks.

Service was fine throughout our stay, but it was also a little impersonal at times. Our room was a decent size and clean - no complaints there, except that the tv was a bit old and unresponsive at times.

A big negative for us was that they charged per device for WiFi - and it was for a limited time. The hotel is not a cheap one, and to charge for WiFi in that way seemed a little ungracious - not what I would have expected.

The hotel was fine, but had none of the charm or superior levels of service you expect when paying for a more expensive hotel. It felt a little like paying gourmet prices for a McDonald's lunch. Nothing really wrong with it, but it should be more for the price. Having said that, if you want to walk to the parks then you may decide to shoulder that cost (as we did), but don't expect much more from your hotel experience other than that.

We stayed at New York Nov 19-23. We went with our two children 3 and 1 and one set of grandparents. As everyone has commented the hotel is a little tired but in rooms 3129 and 3131 everything worked. there was the odd dent. having read the reviews we took a travel kettle and supplies.
Breakfast: we went out of season so wasn't as busy as other reviewers and we were not asked to nominate a time. we had to queue once. seating in the parkside diner was tight. dinner we ate in parkside diner once and it was fairly unimpressive the grandparents ate in manhattans once and said it was lovely. we ate away from the children once at the California grill it was amazing but you have to pay for the privilege. The characters in the hotel were really good for the children. queues were short. If you want to meet characters i would strongly recommend those option rather than rushing into the park.

It is important to briefly mention the park. we last visited in 2004 at about the same time of year. then it was empty this time it was busier. not peak season busy but noticeably busier. The characters no longer freely walk about the park and on the odd occasions where they do it is an unpleasant scrum where the younger children just get pushed out of the way. Hence make use of the characters in the hotel. Eating in the park was a nightmare as all the counter service restaurant apart from one hot dog restaurant closed at about 4 4.30. Be prepared for this. Otherwise the park has faired really well for 20 years. the New nighttime show 'dreams' is amazing.

The hotel is old, grimy and pretty dismal. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned, got hair in the bath tub and the floor was sticky. If he bathroom isn't clean then I can't be sure of the other things in the room. The lighting in the room was very dim and made everything depressing. On the plus side the staff was helpful and trying their best. Still much to be desired from a hotel that will always have people come since its on the Disney premises and therefore brilliantly located if you are visiting Disney Paris.

Room Tip: High floor and facing the park helps.

We stayed at the Hotel New York from the 11th to the 15th of November. This was our second visit to the hotel, having stayed last year in the Gramercy Park section of the hotel. My partner is rather tall and had found that the double beds were a bit short for him on our last visit, so this time I phoned ahead to request a room with a single king size bed to make things a bit more comfortable. The room we had when we arrived was fantastic. We were given room 6209 on the Empire State floor, but obviously with none of the Empire State perks (e.g. fast passes and lounge access). Even so, the room was a dramatic improvement on our last visit, with a large comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, bathrobes and a clean bathroom. We had a view out over the car parks, but this was actually no detriment as it meant we could watch the Disney Dreams show on the castle from our bedroom window if we wanted.

However, I feel a bit let down by the housekeeping service. I'm not normally one to complain, but when you stay in a four star hotel, it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect the floor to be vacuumed at least once during a five day stay. You expect the sofa in the room to be clean and not covered with some rather disgusting looking stains. It would also be nice if the coffee and sugar was replenished when used and the beds properly made rather than the coverlet just being pulled straight and the pillows piled up on it. If this was indeed an Empire State Room and I had paid the full amount for it, then I would have been bitterly disappointed! We may just have been unlucky, but it really isn't what I have come to expect from Disney over many visits to the parks and it put a dampner on things.

Apart from that the hotel was looking very Christmassy and the staff were very friendly. We had to choose breakfast slots, but were happy to be up and eating at 7.30am so there were no real queues to worry about. The breakfast offering was good as always. We had a drink in the hotel bar this time and the service was friendly and helpful if a little slow. We had booked to eat in the Manhattan Restaurant one evening, but our reservation appeared to get lost on the system, so we had to eat in the Parkside Diner instead. This was not all that brilliant and I wouldn't bother eating here again.

The hotel swimming pool was large and rather pleasant, but don't go in the jacuzzi before the main pool or it will feel absolutely freezing! The jacuzzi is rather nice however. There are separate sauna and steam room facilities for men and women in each changing room. In the freezing temperatures of last week, the sauna and jacuzzi were both very welcome! Don't bother taking towels as they are provided.

In all we had a great trip to Disneyland Paris and this was just our experience of the hotel. On our previous trip the room had been spotless, so we may just have been unlucky this time. However, having popped our noses in for a look at the Disneyland Hotel, if we do return to Disneyland Paris in future we will probably be saving the extra cash and stopping there instead.

Room Tip: If you want to request a room with a King Sized Bed, phone the hotel before you go and explain. You...

We visit Disney every year and this was our first stay in New York after visiting all the others. Safe to say this is our new regular from now on. The place is stunning and the cast are so friendly and helpful. We had a standard room and it was huge. Great to have a sofa too just to lay back on. The hotel location can not be better after a busy day on your feet too. Mickey & minnie downstairs every morning with minimal queue and porters who help you to your car with luggage after your visit made this holiday the best yet.
