Disney's Hotel New York is my favourite place to stay when travelling to Disneyland Paris. It has a very good location, next to Disney Village and just a five minute walk to the parks. Theming is also good, with a nice atmosphere, even though it may not be the best with small children. On the other side, there are always plenty of characters to meet for photo opportunities. Got a room was on the second floor facing the pool building, so had no view. I didn´t spend much time in the room, but a view over the lake would have been better. The average price is not cheep but you are in Disneyland and you pay for the surroundings. The food in the restaurants is good with plenty of choice. The only downside is the breakfast, which is pretty basic as in other Disneyland Paris hotels. That is not a big problem as we are always rushing to get in the parks.

Room Tip: Rooms in higher floors with views over the lake are the best. Empire State Club rooms have a higher...

I thought this was a good hotel in a good location. Clean, with a great pool. Breakfast served quite late so we went into the parks early and came back for breakfast. Mickey and Minnie were in reception most of the day. Food was ok, we had breakfast at hotel, full english buffet style.

I've stayed here twice.
Nice hotel, kind staff and really in the style of New York!
The rooms are spacious (double room is with 2 king size beds) and clean and spacious bathroom.
the location is the best of the hotels, you just walk 5 minutes and you're in the Disney Parks!
Disney Village just 2 minutes walk!

Had a 3 night stay over a weekend, couldn't really fault the hotel at the price....staff were good, rooms clean, breakfast really good, close to the disney parks.

Only bad thing i had to ask for a cot to be put in the room twice! let them off for that one!

We decided to push the boat out to get near the park. Be warned that it is still quite a hike with a little one (we have a 4 year old-too big for buggy but too small to walk far a happily). It took us about 35-40 mins to get from the hotel, through Disneyland Village, up to the entrance gates, through main square and main street and into a park and a ride. (an adult might do it in 20). This means you have to leave the hotel at 7.20am to maximize use of early bird tickets!!
We found our check in very impersonal-we had the feeling that we were part of a long conveyor belt of people being herded through the process by jaded staff. We were given a small amount of information very briefly. We could have done with a programme of events at this point and closures so that we could plan effectively. Our room was ordinary with a view of the carpark and very little to nod to the Disney theme. The bathroom was a bit mouldy but the water pressure was good. The lighting was inadequate in the room and the hotel heating is a constant hum. The WIFI is not free. The breakfast buffet was good but we had to queue down the corridor for a table which is very frustrating when you get up early to dash to the park. When we came to check out we were surprised to be handed a bill since we had paid in full in advance. It was 21.99euro for room service we had not had. The receptionist did not apologise and kept us waiting for her superior for 20 minutes. In the end we got fed up and said we were wasting precious park hours and went to have breakfast saying we would come back in 15 minutes. When we went back the staff at reception knew nothing about the problem and just did a refund on the bill with no explanation or apology. It left us wondering how many people might have just paid it. We don't mind a bit of scruffiness, but we like a warm informative welcome, and we want to be made to feel special even if the staff do it every day. If you want to feel that, and get the location, then you will have to fork out for the Disneyland hotel.

Room Tip: Ask to be on the park side, not the carpark side.

The Disney hotels win hands down on convenience, and really this is what we were paying for when booking the hotel - the ability to be near the parks.

Service was fine throughout our stay, but it was also a little impersonal at times. Our room was a decent size and clean - no complaints there, except that the tv was a bit old and unresponsive at times.

A big negative for us was that they charged per device for WiFi - and it was for a limited time. The hotel is not a cheap one, and to charge for WiFi in that way seemed a little ungracious - not what I would have expected.

The hotel was fine, but had none of the charm or superior levels of service you expect when paying for a more expensive hotel. It felt a little like paying gourmet prices for a McDonald's lunch. Nothing really wrong with it, but it should be more for the price. Having said that, if you want to walk to the parks then you may decide to shoulder that cost (as we did), but don't expect much more from your hotel experience other than that.

We stayed at New York Nov 19-23. We went with our two children 3 and 1 and one set of grandparents. As everyone has commented the hotel is a little tired but in rooms 3129 and 3131 everything worked. there was the odd dent. having read the reviews we took a travel kettle and supplies.
Breakfast: we went out of season so wasn't as busy as other reviewers and we were not asked to nominate a time. we had to queue once. seating in the parkside diner was tight. dinner we ate in parkside diner once and it was fairly unimpressive the grandparents ate in manhattans once and said it was lovely. we ate away from the children once at the California grill it was amazing but you have to pay for the privilege. The characters in the hotel were really good for the children. queues were short. If you want to meet characters i would strongly recommend those option rather than rushing into the park.

It is important to briefly mention the park. we last visited in 2004 at about the same time of year. then it was empty this time it was busier. not peak season busy but noticeably busier. The characters no longer freely walk about the park and on the odd occasions where they do it is an unpleasant scrum where the younger children just get pushed out of the way. Hence make use of the characters in the hotel. Eating in the park was a nightmare as all the counter service restaurant apart from one hot dog restaurant closed at about 4 4.30. Be prepared for this. Otherwise the park has faired really well for 20 years. the New nighttime show 'dreams' is amazing.
