“Not my definition of a 4 * hotel”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

Having stayed at Cheyanne and Sequoa Lodge, we decided to pay more for this 4 night stay. However, would not say it warranted the star rating. Quite tired and dismal decor throughout the hotel - room was a Plaza Room overlooking the lake. No tea/ coffee facilities, poor lighting and ventilation. Beds doubles so not really suitable for a family of 4 with teenage children.
The room was dull and dated in decor, but was very clean. Due to a lack of stairs in the hotel, lifts were literally hammered every morning for breakfast. The latter was quite plentiful but only a minimum of hot food. Not up to normal 4* standards. Both restaurants got very busy and noisy. The quality of food was very mediocre- orange juice had a chemical taste, fatty bacon, bread definitely not fresh that day. Obviously a very busy hotel with characters arriving for photographs ( taken by hotel) Swimming pool was quite nice with indoor and outdoor facilities.Hotel located approx. 5 minutes from the edge of the village at Cafe Mickey- so it scores highly on its proximity to the two parks ( 15 mins walk) Overall, I think I would rather save up for Disneyland Hotel if I wanted to stay in the park itself. Otherwise I would stay at a reputable chain on the outskirts and get a shuttle/ train in each day.

Room Tip: Plaza Room or Empire State Room

i'll start by explaining what was immediately apparent. the hotel is now 15 years old (just over) and although well maintained is starting to be lacking in certain aspects. the television isnt flat screen and we found the power sockets a little lacking, but when the hotel was built i dont think the average holidaymaker travelled with phones, laptops, and all the other electronics we do nowedays. however we took double adaptors and just made the most of what we had.

the room was a lovely large size, clean, tidy, the bed was comfortable, the window opened to a nice degree, and everything was as it should be in the bathroom, complete with the nicest toiletries.

the first night we had a problem. the television wouldnt come on. fair enough we called someone and it was fixed whilst we were in the park, so no issues with that.

the location is first class, a very easy 5 to 10 minute stroll through the village and you're in. the nicest pool ever, indoors, small watery corridoor then a lovely outdoor pool of a good size complete with loungers. had a gorgeous swim in the sunshine and recharged my batteries for the evening ahead. the changing rooms had secure lockers which were free so you dont need to remember money when you go down. they were also very nice and clean.

all in all a brilliant stay, sure it looks a little dated with the tv and lack of sockets but the hotel is charming, well located, and with warning these minor points are certainly not an issue. lovely hotel and cant wait to return.

We stayed at this hotel in June this year and had an amazing time. I went with my boyfriend, our 2 year old son and my boyfriends parents. The staff on reception when we checked in were so friendly and explained everything to us really well!

The rooms were very spacious and clean no complaints what so ever!

Location is fantastic, just a 2 minute walk to the Disney Village and 5 minutes to the park!!

Would return to this hotel again and would highly recommend!

I chose that hotel primarily for its location and in that respect I wasn't disappointed! You are right next door to the park. But I was expecting a 4 stars hotel, which it definitely isn't! More like 2 stars if that. Not all is bad, A few comments:
- try calling the hotel! Just try, see for yourself howling it takes to get reception. I wanted to call the hotel 2 days before arriving to ensure the booking was OK, it took about 15 minutes to go through a central number and then be redirected. Not a big deal, but it is strange to make it so difficult for getting through their front desk.
- the entrance all and bar is nice
- the swimming pool is nice too
- food, overall, is very disappointing! Breakfast is really average, dining choice is poor and so is the quality. Not something you would expect in France!!
- everything is priced as a 4 stars hotel, including the very average food mentioned in the point above.
- the room was clean, big, bed comfortable. But everything looked a bit run down... There was a bit of wallpaper missing from the wall, in the bathroom there was a missing hook from the wall which had been replaced with a big blurb of white plaster, etc.
I checked the other hotels (entrance and bar, not the rooms) and below are my impressions:
New port: seems smaller, nice marine decor, looks a bit dated and was currently been repainted outside, so it looked like a construction site nears it's entrance. I would not recommend to stay there until the renovations are finished.
- Sequoia: the best of the 3. Looked big. Very American. Large bar area with lot of families. Maybe a bit dark. But if I had to stay somewhere in Disneyland Paris, between the 3 hotels, I would chose that one.
I didn't see the main hotel, the one featured in the brochure and which is apparently 5 stars.

To conclude. It was OK, but if you expect a real 4 stars hotel then you will be disappointed. In fact, they are using their own Disney "stars" rating. Not am official rating, that maybe explains why!

After reading some of the reviews on here my expectation of this hotel was rather poor.

However this is a wonderful hotel! The location was perfect for accessing the parks and Disney village.

Staff at the hotel were helpful and polite and wonderful with our daughter. Considering the amount of families staying there they always acknowledge her and made a fuss which we made our stay feel really magical.

The facilities in the room were great - iron and ironing board plus a hair dryer - which I wasn't expecting. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and properly made beds. We had a sofa bed in our room, which I was concerned about but it was just a comfy as our bed and my daughter slept very well on it.

We had a view over the lake and ice rink which was very pretty. However there was a outside bar area just underneath our room. On the first night it was quite noisy but by 11.30/12pm it was completely peaceful

We stayed here for 4 nights and having read some reviews had fairly low expectations. We had a fantastic stay. Staff helpful and polite. Room spacious. Breakfast excellent and evening buffet good. Really good location just a few minutes walk to disney village. Yes the bathrooms are a little dated as are the TV sets but we didn't want to turn the TV on at all anyway. Would return in a flash.

We are a family of 4 and have just returned from a 4 night stay here .
We stayed in one of the plaza rooms overlooking the lake and the hotel
lived up to its 4 star rating.
Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful from the moment we stepped out
of the taxi .
We would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Disneyland Paris .
As this was our third trip to Disneyland Paris and our first time staying here
we will definitely stay here again .

Room Tip: Ask for a plaza room, excellent views.
