We recently stayed for 4 days in one of the junior suite rooms. The room was comfortable and well laid out, the service was excellent and the nearby San Anton gardens were a delight to visit. When you go make sure you take the advice of Andrew the sommelier, his choice for us the night we dined in the very good restaurant was delicious. We also had excellent room service from Jennifer.

I have never written a review on TA before, but I am inspired to do so by this beautiful hotel. If only all hotels aspired to the standard set by the Corinthia Palace.
We have just returned from a week there. We arrived at midnight but were warmly welcomed by reception & surprised & touched to find platters of cheese/cold meats & fruit in our room as we had missed dinner.
The hotel is based around a lovely old villa & the dining room is absolutely divine! It is the old villa courtyard [now with roof] & is elegant & spacious with a dramatic flaming torch set on the balustraded terrace outside. An excellent pianist plays while you eat, & also plays while you enjoy the superb [yet reasonably priced] pre dinner cocktails.
The food was beautifully presented & superb.[Try the Gazpacho-best I have ever eaten-& the melt in the mouth beef.]
Wine selection is also good, including several very good Maltese wines at reasonable prices.
However, the real strength of this hotel is its staff. I have travelled widely & I can honestly say I have never experienced the genuine friendliness & courtesy across the entire staff which we experienced every day at the Corinthia Palace.Nothing was too much trouble. This hotel has won "Best Hotel in Malta" for 4 years running, which says it all.
Other reviewers have mentioned the courtesy bus service to Valletta & to the sister hotel on the coast, which we also enjoyed [good sea swimming as well as several more pools].
It is also easy to catch local buses from the hotel to Mdina, the ancient walled citadel which is quite close.
The hotel will also organise car hire & visits to vineyards & other sites.
Several guests we spoke to in the hotel had been there many times. We shall certainly also return. Elizabeth Chilcott

A beautiful place to stay in Central Malta, great for exploring Mdina and the south of the island. Lovely situation next to the San Anton gardens.
All the staff are excellent and very attentive. A great welcome on arrival including a refreshing drink. Plenty of help with our luggage and our car parked for us. The digital safe in our room was faulty, but the situation was rectified in record time by very pleasant maintenance staff.
Our room had a huge balcony and overlooked the gardens, it was very well equipped, even a walk in wardrobe, and spotlessly clean. We couldn't have asked for more.
Breakfast is served in a delightful room, a delicious buffet. We had an excellent meal in the dining room. Our flight home was very early in the morning, but room service arrived bang on time (4.30!) with a light breakfast, which was offered.
Amazing pool and spa.
Thoroughly recommended.

I was looking for a hotel that would provide a relaxing vacation, yet not be too far away from things to do. This lovely hotel was just perfect. The stunning outdoor pool areas, lovely gardens and indoor spa with pool, were ideal for relaxation. The location was ideal as we could get everywhere really easily when we wanted to explore. The hotel even had a free minibus service to the main resorts - Valetta, Sliema and St Julian. And at St Julian you could use the facilities of the sea-side sister hotel for the day, which was yet another unexpected bonus.

We booked on a B&B basis for 9 days. The breakfast was just superb. There was a really good selection of fruits, cold meats, cheeses, salads, cereals and a fantastic selection of cooked items - 2 types of bacon, 2 types of sausages, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, poached eggs, boiled eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans etc etc!!! and if that wasn't enough there were local pastries with peas or with cheese - delicious! And if 4 types of eggs wasn't enough, they would make you an omelette. Breakfast was also at a sensible time, served until 10.30, so you could have a nice lie-in as well or do 40-lengths in one of the 2 pools to work up an appetite.

The room was really spacious. We asked for a double bed and it was huge, really comfy and with lots of big, soft pillows. Housekeeping did a great job every day. There was FREE wifi throughout the hotel, and it worked in the rooms, as advertised, unlike many places I have stayed in.

The front desk were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble, advising where to go, how to get there, booking taxis etc.

We bought a 7-day bus ticket, for 12 euro, which gave us access to all the buses, even at night. Nothing was very far away, but most routes run via Valetta. We also hired a moped for 3 days for €100 including delivery to the hotel from David's Rent a Car, in Bugibba. I would probably go for a jeep or a car next time though, as it is a bit scary on the roads and I am an experienced moped rider living in Italy!

The spa and beauty centre was very pleasant, and open until late. The sauna even had a window in overlooking the courtyard garden. The steam room was maybe a little dated and the jacuzzi was not as really very warm, but that would be my only criticism of a wonderful hotel.

I would definitely return and very much look forward to my next visit!

Room Tip: Simply email the hotel and ask for what you want - I requested a quiet, non-smoking double with a ba...

This is a great hotel and the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too difficult for them. We travelled in late September and it was very relaxing around the pool and the weather was perfect; spa looked great as well! Pool towels are provided but you need to ask for lounger cushions.

Many 5 star hotels boast excellent customer service, but few deliver on their promise. This one delivers in bucket loads, but not in a forced 'transatlantic' way, just genuine warm hospitality and this at all levels, from the housekeeping staff and pool attendants to the general manager.
And management is 'hands on', not sitting in a closed office staring at a PC, but talking to guests in and around the hotel, (we had a phone call as well on our second day asking if we had any problems) and with their office doors open and welcoming. The general manager can be seen in the restaurant, both in the evening and at breakfast, keeping an eye on things. How many 5 star hotels do you see that.
I can now understand why people return to this hotel year after year; we met one couple who had been coming for 17 years.
Yes the location is not ideal in terms of proximity to shops, bars and restaurants, but when you have a free return courtesy bus at various times to four different places on the island, in the morning, afternoon and evening, this is not significant. If you prefer to use taxis they are inexpensive and reception will book them for you (return if you wish) and add the cost to your room bill. The bus stop is less than 5 minutes walk.
My only criticism would be the limited choice of food in the main restaurant for guests on half board who are staying for a week or longer. Yes there are two other restaurants and we did eat at the Rickshaw which serves asian food, with a massive menu choice, but the food is no better than a good quality chinese or indian restaurant at home and the service, although efficient, is not up to the superb personalised standard of the main restaurant.
I am tempted to mention certain members of staff who went that 'extra mile' but I feel that this would be showing favouritism and in fact all the staff were warm, professional and highly trained.
We look forward to returning to this hotel at some point in the future and we have never done that
before in over forty years of European travel.

As the name and number of stars attributed to it suggests, this is a quality establishment, and it doesn’t disappoint. My wife and I had the most wonderful time for my birthday holiday. The hotel was exceptional in pretty much every respect and the kindness, courtesy and professionalism of all the staff was exemplary. We were both made to feel very special during our stay which added to the overall pleasurable experience. We stayed on a Half Board package and the quality and variety of the food in all the restaurants was out of this world (and very good value) and the attentiveness of the waiting on staff made for a truly memorable dining experience every time. Our room was spacious and welcoming and surprisingly quiet considering the hotel’s location in the centre of the Island. The pool area never seemed very busy even though there were plenty of sun beds available. Perfect for that cooling dip.
The only slight negative would have to be the indoor Spa area. Compared to the rest of the hotel we both felt the region around the pools looked a bit unkempt and needed updating. Paint coming off the walls and generally looked a bit grubby. There weren't really enough seats to relax by the indoor pool even though it wasn't busy. However, the glorious Maltese weather meant that the majority of our time was spent outdoors! Nevertheless we did treat ourselves to a 'Blissful Massage' in the sumptuous treatment area which was as the name suggests, absolute heaven!
Without a car, getting about is fairly easy with bus stops relatively close by and for 2.60 Euros you can each buy a day ticket which can be used on virtually any route till 11pm. Even though the buses are new(ish), the system still retains a degree of chaos from an earlier age, but in some way that adds to the charm of the place! The hotel also provides courtesy transport, to some destinations, but this must be booked in advance.
For a peaceful wander amongst the foliage the Botanical Gardens are literally just over the road and The Villa Bologna, its pottery shop and gardens, a short distance further on.
Overall this was a holiday to remember at a hotel which, in our opinion, oozes unpretentious opulence.

Room Tip: Our room 331 was on the top floor and pretty quiet all things being considered. The added advantage...
