We have stayed at Mimosa for 2 nights. I cannot complain about the room. It is nice. Bed is comfortable. Open shower at one side and jacuzzi bath tub on the other are excellent.
Breakfast is ok, but I would like a better variety of fruit.
If you want to swim, well that could be a little difficult, because there is some kind of grass in the sea, and it's all over the place.

We stayed at Mimosa Resort & Spa on 19 January 2014 for 3 days, for our honeymoon, once arrived, we served by a very nice and polite staff, bring us to our room that was beautifully decorated for us, the room is very spacious, with an open air rain shower and couple's jacuzi outside the bed room. The breakfast token and "do no disturb / make up the room" sign is very creative and beautiful, the spa is a little bit too expensive but it was very pampering. Breakfast was serve at the sea fro2nt restaurant, not so many choice of menu, but it was ok and taste good. The beach was clean and calm, really suitable for family and couples. I would certainly stay here if i make a visit to koh samui again.

I'm not sure what hotel Gil T went to, but clearly I went to another.

Yes it's far from Chaweng, but I think that's clear for most people and we chose it because of that. We wanted a place where we could stay and do nothing.

The concrete hotel, seemed very loft like. Clean and modern. Combined with the outdoor spaces, the plants, and wooden accents, we loved it. Very calm and relaxing.

The hotel grounds were very green and had gekkos running around, which my hubby was chasing around everywhere haha. There were a little outdoor living space we spent some time in -- hammocks, loungers, outlets for your stuff.

The beach was small but I thought it was prefect. No one really on the beach except for guests and some locals, and some tourist who happened upon it.

Would stay here again and again.

Room Tip: We loved the hot tub in the patio.

If you want non stop noise, night life and nefarious activities then Mimosa is not the place for you. This is a small, boutique hotel on the beach at Ban Tai just down the road from Mai Nam. The beach is pretty but narrow, the sand and water were both clean. The pool is small too but as most of the villas have their own pool this isn't a problem, we were always able to get a sun lounger.
The rooms are concrete and very practical - it is a design style I like but might not be to everyone's taste. In spite of what one or two other reviews may have said this resort is extremely clean and it is one of the only places I've been in Asia where there hasn't been the usual musty/moldy aroma that comes from the tropics. They use lovely natural products for both cleaning and the toiletries.
WIFI is a bit patchy but was available and free. The breakfast was included - nothing amazing but it got you going for the day, there was hot, continental, Asian and lots of fruit selections.
The food is pretty ordinary, we had tastier, and cheaper, food at the night markets but it was ok if you couldn't be bothered going out. There was always a lunch special and 2 for 1 happy hour cocktails in the evening.
The staff are all cheerful and willing to please, English isn't a strength but neither is my Thai - somehow we all managed! We took the resort driver option for a half day tour (2400 for up to 4 people) which was very reasonable and more comfortable than going with a big group. They also organized a day trip for us on the Naga, a beautiful wooden yacht, through Boutique Cruising, really good and well worth the little bit extra.
There is a shuttle that runs into the main areas up to Chaweng twice a day and you need to get a Taxi back. Nothing was more than about 10 or 20 minutes away. The walking street markets rotate through each village on a different night of the week so you can easily visit lots of different places. Here is a small shopping/eating/massage strip within 5 minutes of the resort, at the very end on the main road there is a 7/11, an ATM, and a pharmacy. We tried the little beachside massage places which were okay but for the same price we much preferred the friendly team at Koi, about midway on the small strip (300 for one hour massage/150 manicure or pedicure and so on).
All in all this is a very relaxed and private little resort that is pretty well positioned and good value for the price, I would definitely stay again.

Rooms were clean and spacious. We loved the jaguzzi on the balcony and enjoyed it multiple times. The resort is a bit far from the night time action, but that's no problem and also for many it might be the reason to choose this one. You can rent a scooter, take a taxi or the hotels shuttle bus to get to the markets and night life. The resort doesn't have enough scooters for all and sometimes even when you book one you might get left without it when someone else decides to keep theirs for a second day. The beach is nice and peaceful with smooth sand. It doesn't get very deep in the water, so for snorkeling there isn't much to see. Breakfast was great and easy and the restaurant is right on the beach so it's beautiful. Staff was really friendly and lovely. The biggest dissapointment was the gym, which was a joke. There's one of those do it all with this machines, which had it's wires so lose, that nothing could be done with it. But all together, lovely place.

Where do I begin… this hotel was such a pleasant surprise!

Location: Right on the beach, tucked back from the main road and it felt totally secluded! Beach was not huge (none really are), but beautiful and clean. We walked down the beach and found a great little massage shack (cheap and great!). We rented scooters (reasonable price) and were able to easily navigate our way around the island. Hotel is a short scooter ride away from lots of great restaurants... A couple were walking distance, but we didn't go to any of them.

Service: Great- everyone was very sweet and attentive, especially the staff in the restaurant! We stayed over the holiday season and woke up on Christmas morning with a cute teddy bear on our door wishing us a Merry Christmas… cute keepsake!

Rooms: We booked the Jasmine Package and stayed in the room with the private outdoor jacuzzi tub (LOVE! perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring). The outdoor area of the room was very private and we felt more than comfortable leaving our door open at night for a breeze. The decor was very modern and minimal. The bathroom and shower were spacious.

Food: The breakfast included in our package was delicious. There was a good mix of traditional and western breakfast foods, as well as an egg station where you could get omelets made to order. One night we splurged on the fresh seafood dinner (you have to order the fish 24 hours in advance) and were so impressed at how amazing everything was. Definitely recommend this! Drinks were tasty and strong-- i went with the Mojito over and over again!

Spa: Beautiful and relaxing! The only negative thing I have to add to this review is that the massage was just so-so. I've had better Thai massages in LA and ended up getting many better ones throughout the remainder of our stay (for a fraction of the price). Ours was included in our package, but I wouldn't spend the 1000 THB on it. Other places were much better for between 200-500 THB.

Room Tip: We were in Room 001. Very secluded and quiet outdoor area. Jacuzzi tub was our favorite part!
