“Total relaxation”
Reviewed 6 November 2013

We stayed at Infinity in September and upon arrival were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment. Upon arrival we were greeted politely and made to feel welcome. The resort is located up a very steep hill, approximately 2km from the main road. The complex has 7 levels that are on the hill side and we had the top level. The different levels are located down the hillside which is quite steep. We were able to walk to our room and the open aired restaurant.

The Room:
Modern elegant decorated room. It was very functional and when you arrive you certainly appreciate the ambiance of the room. The room we had a spectacular view and looks across to Koh Phangan which is in the distance. The view made you feel relaxed and along with the location, we felt the place was very peaceful. The room had it's own private infinity pool (ours was a plunge pool) and all this combined was exactly what we were looking for.

The Food:
The restaurant has a nice buffet breakfast. We had a few wrong orders and once had to return the food as it was cold. The team quickly fixed everything. The wait staff were always friend and tried to help but with English as a 2nd language you can sometimes get some confusion happening. We were on holiday and relaxed and to us this did not bother us. It may upset some, but when you understand how hard it is to speak Thai for us, I can imagine how hard it is for Thai people to speak English.

Make sure you get down to the restaurant for some cocktails during happy hour. We arrived early and enjoyed a few before it got dark and they were great.

As an alternate to dining at the resort at the bottom of the hill there are some great beach restaurants along the main road and well worth visiting.

The Location:
As mentioned there is a nasty hill and a courtesy car can take you down the hill (make sure you ask for a mobile to ring them to pick you up for when you return). The resort is located away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng Beach. If you want piece and quite and away from the main area, then this is your place. If you want to be in walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars and have lots of people, then don't come here without hiring a car or being prepared to be adventurous and use the local public transport - either a Taxi (quite expensive as it is a long distance from Chaweng) or the Bus (a ute enclosed with to running board seats).

That hill:
Off the main road, the hill starts about 800m and goes for just over 1km. It is steep, and 1.6l auto Corolla I had to pop back into 1st gear. You certainly can drive up the hill but I would not recommend walking it unless you are extremely fit and have water. I have a video of it, so if you would like to see what it is like, message me and I will email a copy.

Overall:
We were impressed by the resort. It is not a 5 star resort as it does not have a gym, spa, steam room and have absolute perfect luxury and perfect service etc...we weren't looking for that. It does have a great feel and tranquility and overall it was very good and we would love to return.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and get a 2br apartment

The resort was set high on a hill surrounded by tropical jungle overlooking the sea. Breathtaking. The sea view was every where you turned. The 2 story town house style accommodation was magnificent. We went with our 2 girls 10 and 11. They shared a room with their own large bathroom. And we had our own bedroom and bathroom. Wii Fi through out and 3 TVs. Fully equipped kitchen, not that we needed it though. Pools at the complex were great. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, from the restaurant to the office staff. The deal we had was exceptional for the quality of accommodation and service. I would highly recommend this resort.

Room Tip: Fitness centre not up and running when we were there.

Great place to get away from the touristy areas but we still did venture in to the busier areas for a look. After being Terry Tourists in Chaing Mai and Bangkok this was a great way to end the trip. Despite earlier negative reviews the restaurant food was excellent and has obviously been improved. It is a steep site but you get used to it. Getting a lift up and down the hill is no problem and it is amazing how the staff continue to do it in such a cheerful manner. We did have electrical problems with our intial room but this was promptly dealt with and the new room was great. We also found the restaurants at the bottom of the hill to be great value with good food and the Four Monkeys coffee shop and bar opposite the 7-11 was always our last visit before using the provided mobile phone to go back up the hill. The only suggestion I would offer is to get a new toaster in the restuarant for breakfast. I wasn't keen on using metal tongs to get the toast out of an electrical toaster!! Other than that we loved it.
PS - For Thai first time visitors. My wife normally likes spicy food but by the end of the trip she worked out saying "little" spicy means nothing. She eventually started saying "no spicy" and it still came out with plenty of kick!!

Great views. Lovely roomy room. We stayed 7 nights but think 5 would be enough to see all the sights and still lots of time for relaxation. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. Cocktails great too.

Fantastic staff - friendly, attentive, extremely helpful.
Resort is beautiful - amazing view and such a lovely room and pool.
Great value for the package deal we had.
Restaurant has panoramic view and food is good, although a few misses with some dishes.
As the resort is on the mountain side it is a very peaceful and relaxing location. We did hire a car from the shop on the main street which made it easier and more convenient to get around each day so would recommend to do that, unless you want a holiday entirely at the resort.

The hotel has some of the best views over the Gulf Of Thailand available, and this can be enjoyed from your room or your private deck area.

The hotel has been open for two years and the rooms were spacious, fitted with modern furnishings, well maintained and serviced every day by attention to detail staff.

Whilst the hotel is located high on the mountain and back from the busy main ring road, the location provides peace, quite and a relaxing atmosphere. Access to the main road is available via the hotel cars as a free service and takes around five minutes. The hotel will issue you with a mobile phone so you can arrange pick up when you’re ready to return. One of the strong points of the hotel location is that you are not overrun with other international travellers as some of the other locations on the island are.

Grounds staff have the gardens and pools in immaculate condition, the pool water quality was one of the best on the island. All staff are very friendly and attentive to any requests. The hotel bar has quality cocktails and views that cannot be matched!

Our room had the only swim up bar access, a nice addition. The staff arranged a beautiful flower presentation on the bed on our arrival for our anniversary which was a wonderful personal touch.

Once on the main ring road you can access taxis or the local songtaew services - we used songtaews to travel to all the adjoining villages and markets during our seven day stay.

There are plenty of local restaurants and services at the base of the hotel including a laundry. Local establishments offer quality food and drinks at very reasonable prices. The small cafe directly opposite the hotel access road has quality cocktails.

Like many others, we booked through Deals.com.au for two single women for an 8 day stay. The resort is perched high up on the hill and has fantastic views. The apartments are pretty well designed and do offer great facilities (separate bathrooms, kitchen, balconies) and we had our own pool. The thing to be aware of is this resort was originally built as private residence, not as a resort, so some of the apartments are privately owned, some are still being finished, and the others are available as hotel/resort accommodation. As part of the deal, we were entitled to a 2hr "spa" session. The only thing about this is that there is no real "spa" as the real one is still being built, as is the gym. The current spa facility is another hotel room. Whilst the lady that provided my 1hr massage was very sweet, it was the worst massage that I have ever encountered, and I was concerned with her causing me injury due to her clear lack of experience. My friend also had a massage straight after me, and felt exactly the same. We advised the assistant manager, but there was little explanation for the lack of experience. Also, during the massage, the masseuse had to leave the massage to answer the phone as she was the only one in the spa. Very unsatisfactory experience and so much so, that we did not use the other hour each that we were entitled to.
As part of this voucher, you are also entitled to breakfast and lunch daily at the restaurant. This is very good value and the food was excellent. The bonus in the restaurant had to be the staff. They were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were also entitled to one dinner at the restaurant. A word of warning however with the "voucher" system. We received our vouchers from the Hotel on day3 of our stay, so had to argue the toss when we wanted to claim our first night's dinner under the voucher. You apparently have to declare and present the voucher at the time of use. Given we didn't get the vouchers until after our dinner, it was a bit hard to present it.
Would I go back? Well probably not. The location is remote and taxis will not go up the hill to the resort due to the steep and winding road. The Hotel provides a very good service of giving each room a mobile phone, so you only have to wait a couple of minutes and they will run you up and down the hill where taxis and tuktuks are in abundance. I have holidayed in KS 3 times now and I would opt for a resort less remote than this and one that is in easy access to the beach.

Room Tip: The higher up in the resort you stay, the better the view. Also if you are down near the restaurant...
