I went to Samui with my girlfriend for a long weekend and we decided to try Infinity. And in all honesty we could not have been more excited and thrilled about our stay!

From beginning to end Infinity showed us a side of luxury leisure that we have not experienced before even though being used to staying at 5-star resorts.

Some of the reasons why we would recommend Infinity above any other Samui alternative:
1. The view: You will simply not find a better and more unspoiled view than what Infinity offers - at least if you like 180 degree sea view with the most beautiful sunsets!
2. The design: Infinity offers really cool "Mediterranean" white style design that gives a really cool ambience. We stayed in a penthouse at the top of the resort which was just perfect - and all units have private pool and unlimited sea views. Brilliant design!
3. The service: From we arrived the front office managers Khun Aum and Mr Stephan took really great care if us. Nothing seemed to big or small for them and you feel that hospitality is in their mind and hearts

The location is about 20 min or so from the airport on a mountain side in a small village so if you're into raving parties and noisy holidays this may not be for you - we wanted wonderful surroundings, great service, chill ambience and luxury - and we got it!!!

All in all - we will definitely be back!!! Go see for yourself :-)

We purchased THE DEAL for 5 nights & 2 nights in Bangkok. Let me begin by saying that I have read all the reviews for this location and Infinity Resort is just heaven on earth.
What deals.com advertised was exactly what we got - apart from Bangkok, but that's another story. The location, the service, the people, the food were all well above our expectations. Since we paid a pittance of the normal rack rate, this was an exceptional experience beyond all expectations.
Yes, there are mosquitos! Yes, there is rain! Yes, there is wind! But you are on a tropical island - what else do you expect?
TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE WRITTEN BAD REVIEWS - the Indians, the Brits and the Sydney-ites, please stay away from this resort as we are returning in May 2014, this time for 10 nights - which I got at an extremely good deal for the extra nights. I think you people should remember... 'when in Rome'.
The service from all the staff was fantastic - nothing was too much trouble. Our surroundings were exceptional and we have NO complaints at all.
Stefan and your team - can't wait to see you all again in May!
Cheers :)

I had never been to Koh Samui and was apprehensive booking a resort based on online research and use of googlemaps. So here's what I learnt about the resort:

1. If you are not planning to spend time on the sandy Koh Samui beach or in the center of Koh Samui town, this resort is perfect for the family. You can enjoy the hike up and down the resort area--your parents and moms with babies will need to ride in golf carts to get around the resort, even to the dining area. But mostly, you'll lounge in your suite/unit enjoying the views and the swimming pool which is part of your suite.

2. The pictures of the rooms do justice to the hotel rooms for sure. We booked a 3-bedroom suite for our family and the suite turned out to be in stellar condition as shown in the pictures. If you are traveling with a family, make sure to request the suite/unit close to the lobby. It makes life slightly easier. Still, my mom was not completely excited about the hike style walk to the dining area (her knees are not strong) or the winding lonesome road down to the nearest taxi stand (25 mins minimum) was also out of question.

3. The beds we slept in each of the rooms were rock hard. I am not sure why because in general the furnishings seemed to be in great condition. I slept on top of the blanket on the second night just to make it comfortable. Our sore backs were soothed by hot showers ;)

4. We had breakfast and dinner at the resort. Turned out just fine, if a tad limited in choices. Staff was helpful and friendly.

5. Keep this in mind as you prepare to book: Getting out of the resort is facilitated in two ways a) You can request a 'limo' service to drop you in to town (35 to 40 min drive) in an SUV one-way for THB 900 ($32) each time. We also paid THB 1000 for airport pick up (highly recommended as the resort is completely out of the way). b) You can ask the reception to drop you to the taxi stand at the base of the resort for free. The reception will provide you with a loaner phone so you can call them when you get back to the taxi stand to be picked up for the resort (no cab will drive up hill to the resort). Taxis are unmetered and you have to haggle with the drivers for a rate that won't leave you penniless. No one budges for less than THB 300 to 400 even for short drives as Koh Samui is a popular tourist destination.

6. Bring your insect repellent. Night or day, mosquitoes are hovering outside waiting to make a meal out of you. Even checking in at midnight for 10 minutes became an ordeal for me as those pesky mosquitoes chewed off my legs in minutes. I could not retain my politeness to the manager who wanted all my paperwork pronto.

Would I stay at Infinity in Koh Samui again? Likely not as it is too far from the better beaches of Koh Samui and tough to get to spas which are also on the other side of the island.

Room Tip: Rooms near the reception area is easier if you'd like to get to town frequently. Get your inse...

We arrived to be greeted by very friendly staff and a glass of fizzy which was most welcome after the journey. We stayed in a 2 bedroom duplex apartment, with small private plunge pool, set high on a hill with amazing views. It was great yo have ample living space to totally relax and unwind.
The breakfast included was ample and service was very friendly. Whilst we didn't eat many other meals in the restaurant, what we did have was good. The resort is very steep but with golf carts available if needed this should not be seen as a negative. The hotel provided a mobile phone to use when we wanted to be collected from the main road, maximum wait time was 15 minutes. A great resort and a great experience. Thank you.

We stayed at Infinity in September and upon arrival were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment. Upon arrival we were greeted politely and made to feel welcome. The resort is located up a very steep hill, approximately 2km from the main road. The complex has 7 levels that are on the hill side and we had the top level. The different levels are located down the hillside which is quite steep. We were able to walk to our room and the open aired restaurant.

The Room:
Modern elegant decorated room. It was very functional and when you arrive you certainly appreciate the ambiance of the room. The room we had a spectacular view and looks across to Koh Phangan which is in the distance. The view made you feel relaxed and along with the location, we felt the place was very peaceful. The room had it's own private infinity pool (ours was a plunge pool) and all this combined was exactly what we were looking for.

The Food:
The restaurant has a nice buffet breakfast. We had a few wrong orders and once had to return the food as it was cold. The team quickly fixed everything. The wait staff were always friend and tried to help but with English as a 2nd language you can sometimes get some confusion happening. We were on holiday and relaxed and to us this did not bother us. It may upset some, but when you understand how hard it is to speak Thai for us, I can imagine how hard it is for Thai people to speak English.

Make sure you get down to the restaurant for some cocktails during happy hour. We arrived early and enjoyed a few before it got dark and they were great.

As an alternate to dining at the resort at the bottom of the hill there are some great beach restaurants along the main road and well worth visiting.

The Location:
As mentioned there is a nasty hill and a courtesy car can take you down the hill (make sure you ask for a mobile to ring them to pick you up for when you return). The resort is located away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng Beach. If you want piece and quite and away from the main area, then this is your place. If you want to be in walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars and have lots of people, then don't come here without hiring a car or being prepared to be adventurous and use the local public transport - either a Taxi (quite expensive as it is a long distance from Chaweng) or the Bus (a ute enclosed with to running board seats).

That hill:
Off the main road, the hill starts about 800m and goes for just over 1km. It is steep, and 1.6l auto Corolla I had to pop back into 1st gear. You certainly can drive up the hill but I would not recommend walking it unless you are extremely fit and have water. I have a video of it, so if you would like to see what it is like, message me and I will email a copy.

Overall:
We were impressed by the resort. It is not a 5 star resort as it does not have a gym, spa, steam room and have absolute perfect luxury and perfect service etc...we weren't looking for that. It does have a great feel and tranquility and overall it was very good and we would love to return.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and get a 2br apartment

The resort was set high on a hill surrounded by tropical jungle overlooking the sea. Breathtaking. The sea view was every where you turned. The 2 story town house style accommodation was magnificent. We went with our 2 girls 10 and 11. They shared a room with their own large bathroom. And we had our own bedroom and bathroom. Wii Fi through out and 3 TVs. Fully equipped kitchen, not that we needed it though. Pools at the complex were great. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, from the restaurant to the office staff. The deal we had was exceptional for the quality of accommodation and service. I would highly recommend this resort.

Room Tip: Fitness centre not up and running when we were there.

Great place to get away from the touristy areas but we still did venture in to the busier areas for a look. After being Terry Tourists in Chaing Mai and Bangkok this was a great way to end the trip. Despite earlier negative reviews the restaurant food was excellent and has obviously been improved. It is a steep site but you get used to it. Getting a lift up and down the hill is no problem and it is amazing how the staff continue to do it in such a cheerful manner. We did have electrical problems with our intial room but this was promptly dealt with and the new room was great. We also found the restaurants at the bottom of the hill to be great value with good food and the Four Monkeys coffee shop and bar opposite the 7-11 was always our last visit before using the provided mobile phone to go back up the hill. The only suggestion I would offer is to get a new toaster in the restuarant for breakfast. I wasn't keen on using metal tongs to get the toast out of an electrical toaster!! Other than that we loved it.
PS - For Thai first time visitors. My wife normally likes spicy food but by the end of the trip she worked out saying "little" spicy means nothing. She eventually started saying "no spicy" and it still came out with plenty of kick!!
