The bungalow complex is on the beach. We've stayed in a 3 persons bungalow which comprises of: 2 bedrooms (one double, one single) each with its own AC, living room with large couch and TV, kitchen with all the necesities (I guess it would be handy if you're gonna be there for at least a month), toilet with shower, terrace with a large bed and also a table. Pretty much all you can ask for. The resort's staff was nice, helping us with whatever we've asked for (like a taxi at 4 o'clock in the morning to take us to the airport). The breakfast was served on the beach and was amazing. A lot of food, served anytime from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.! Yes, that's 6 p.m.! I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone who wants a very nice quiet retreat on an amazing island. The resort is 7 kms away from the nearest town (Nathon), but they do offer motorbike and car rental. Chaweng, the islands' most famous town and beach is about 15 km away. The Bangpo beach though, more than makes up for the distance to the towns. It's wide, quiet, clean, with beautiful both sunsets and sunrises on its corners.
We booked 5 nights at the Bangpo Village after backpacking South East Asia for 2 months, we wanted to have our own kitchen and cook our own meals.
We have a double bed bungalow with airconditioning and kitchenette.
The Kitchen is a single gas burner stove, decent sized fridge with freezer and a sink. Crockery and simple amenities are provided.
The location is right on the beach which is a very peaceful and quiet. Due to the rocks you can not submerse yourself too deep into the water, but you can still get in waist high.
Its a fair distance from the main local businesses but you can hire a motorcycle next door for a very reasonable price. We also bought our water from them too.
The bedding is very comfortable and sheets changed every three days.
Our stay at Bangpo village has been peaceful and comfortable. The owners/staff are very accommodating and helpful.
*Tip* If you're after a very decent coffee, walk onto the beach, turn left towards the bar and a 15 minute walk down there is an amazing place called 4 monkeys. They have extremely good coffee and great atmosphere.
Family owned and managed bungalows, very basic in design and comfort, rather old, but clean and cozy. The whole place has an authentic look and feel... We were staying in a Family bungalow #4 for the whole month. Good English breakfast was served every morning, a few times we asked for Thai breakfast and it was kindly served. You can use fully equipped kitchen for in-house food preparation, but will need a motorbike to reach restaurants or food vendors (check the place just across the road or go for good thai food for take away ~1 km to the left, just before the school). There are 7/11 markets a few km on the left and right, but for quality shopping go to Big C supermarket (~20 min. on the bike). You may want to rent a motorbike or car from the neighbor lady (she also does laundry and sells drinking water). The beach is nice as this part of Samui island is far away from all crazy resorts and noisy places. Good massage on the right side. Go further 500 meters and you will reach a superb The Sea Koh Samui hotel, where you can buy drinks and ask (ask!) to use the beautiful pool (we also had an unforgettable dinner on the beach there).
