“A perfect family holiday in paradise!”
Reviewed 18 July 2012

Having stayed at many 5 star properties all over the world, I cannot wait to come back to Napasai next year. We have just spent 8 nights at the resort with our 10 months old son (our first family holiday) and the experience could not have been more positive.
Whilst the resort location on a private beach at the northern end of the island, the fact that it is a small all villa resort, 3 fabulous restaurants and a great room service have all contributed to our experience, it is an outstanding customer service and attention to detail that set this resort apart. From villa allocation (a beachfront villa closest to the pool to make it easier for us) to a chef cooking special meals for our son, including eggs for breakfast, immaculately clean rooms, the experience has exceeded our expectations. The baby sitter arranged by the hotel was very competent and warm, our son loved her.
We only went into town once - the food at the resort is of the same price but better quality than the town. The patrons were mostly families and couples, no loud parties (we looked for peace and quiet). Some resorts may have flashier rooms (though our villa was terrific), one

The Napasai is a lovely peaceful place to stay. Views over to the other islands are lovely. The rooms(we stayed in a beachfront villa) are very comfortable and tidy, with a beautiful outdoor seating area. There's a lovely feeling of peace when staying here which is helped by incredibly attentive and friendly staff who cater to your needs without being intrusive. The manageress here runs a tight ship and makes sure you have everything you need. If there's a downside, its probably the beach which although nice is not the super soft sand found on the likes of Choeng Mon, though it has very comfortable beds, view, beach service and hammocks, and watersports like canoeing and sailing (hobies) are good. it suffers from a tidal shallow slope like many beaches on Samui, and snorkelling on the island is pretty much a waster of time due to visibility. The hotel has done some work making a nice deep channel out for swimming, and added a floating deepwater platform which is good. Food is ok, we ate out most nights so just had daytime meals not a la carte, the daytime menu is a little limited and could do with more variety and we'd like to see more local dishes on it.Breakfast was excellent, huge choice of food. Overall I would recommend this hotel to people who are looking for a laid back, peaceful upper level luxury place to stay, I would certainly go back. There's just something about the place that makes you want to relax instead of running around.

This was a lovely secluded hotel with the nicest staff. Food at their regular restaurant was fantastic for dinner. Their breakfast was mainly same thing everyday but always good. We had a room right on water. Only complaint which is mother nature cause then water the be rocky but theynhire people to clear thr rocks I believe it's beaches are not as clear to that north side. Close to Ko Phangan which was good for the Full Moon Party.

Room Tip: Use your American Express card for upgrade.

This hotel is amazing.

The location is perfect, the grounds idyllic, the service exceptional, the views stunning, the food outstanding, the rooms top-notch, the beach area clean and the waters gorgeous.

Napasai is all about the little details that make luxurious accommodations worth every penny; twice-a-day room service, complimentary in-room fresh fruit and free bottled water, coffee and tea daily, free bike and kayak use, free wifi, free tennis and ping pong, three great restaurants, a constantly smiling staff that treats guests like royalty, and too much more to mention.

Even the resort manager, Yvonne, went out of her way to personally help us when we had an emergency situation and needed immediate medical attention.

Most people probably wouldn't give it a second thought, but as gym lovers we would have loved legitimate free weights and more equipment in the (nice but small) gym area, as we ended up trekking to World Gym every day of our stay.

If you're hoping to relax in total luxury on Koh Samui, I highly recommend Napasai by Orient Express; my husband and I agreed this is the best hotel resort we've ever stayed at.

I came to Samui - Napasai, to meet my beloved friends from China and Spain. I loved every minute of my stay. A piece of Heaven on Earth. Excellent friendly service, food, and ambiance.
Gilles cuisine is very delightful. For an ultimate experience, diners can opt for the seven-course tasting menu. Everything always prepared with delicacy and imagination. A journey through the senses....

Our family of 6 stayed at Napasai for 10 glorious days in a 3 bedroom ocean front pool villa. It was so private with 30 metres of beach frontage and gorgeous views across to Koh Panghan. In this villa we had the best of both worlds being able to lounge around in two separate living areas, one indoor and one outdoor or upstairs on the deck or around the pool. If you wanted more action it was simple to call a buggy to take you to the main resort with its choice of bars, restaurants and a stunning infinity pool. The resort is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We would either choose to have dinner in the resort or get taxis to Fishermans Village (15 mins away) where we found a number of great restaurants or to Chaweng Beach (20 mins). We enjoyed all the meals we had at the resort and there was a good selection of Thai and international dishes. I would return to Thailand and to Napasai in a heartbeat and I'd love it even more if they updated the gym equipment and also put magnification mirrors in the bathrooms which I now would expect to find in any 5 star accommodation.

What a wonderful place! If you're going to Koh Samui, and you don't want the busy beach at Chiweng, this is the place for you. Lovely spot, very quiet, and extremely helpful, attentive staff made this one of the most relaxing times we've had. Great dinners on their beach, too.
