This is a slightly unconventional hotel. I've been twice and will be back in a month. As it happens, I like it very much and its certainly one of the better values on Samui. However, you need to be prepared to shut down; if you need to shop and bar-crawl, this is a poor choice. However, there IS a good restaurant 2 minutes away on the beach, open from breakfast through dinner.
Pros: the lovely and helpful staff (limited English notwithstanding), the location on the water, the massages (I usually use the one on directly on the beach, though). There is a certain calm, sweet slowness to everyone that becomes infectious.... Oh, and the WiFi is quite good.
Cons: well, things dont always work. The phone didnt work in my room; neither did the safe. Emails to the hotel dont always go through, it seems. And I would have happily paid a little more for something a little larger and more stylish.
Note: they do laundry and there are stores across the street for any essentials. Otherwise you need to drive into Menem.More
