“Nice resort but needs improvement”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014 via mobile

Having just finished 9 days at Samui Buri, I can honestly say we had an amazing holiday. That being said, there are a few improvements that should be made.

Firstly, there is no free wifi anywhere in the resort. There should at least be wifi in the lobby or other communal areas.

Secondly all the bathrooms need renovation. Not just in the rooms but in the restaurant and pool area.

Also, we noticed that most nights had a buffet in the restaurant. This normally wouldn't be a problem however we never saw any guests partaking therein. There appeared to be a large waste of food. We hope the food is given to staff to take home to avoid wastage.

We stayed in a villa and the rooms (especially the wooden wardrobe) smelled very musty. The outside appearance/setting of the villa was lovely, but furniture etc needs updating (we understand that it is a traditional theme, which is great. However some updating required). Also the air conditioning unit could only be on or off. Changing the temperature on the control panel didn't do anything. We were either too hot or too cold.

Having said all of this, the outdoor areas are stunning. The pool is absolutely amazing and the restaurant had some of my favorite thai dishes.

The poolside bar was great, and the staff were extremely friendly. We liked being away from the party areas however the twice a day shuttle service to chaweng was very useful.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the above issues did nothing to detract from our trip.

I stayed here for 1 night between landing on Samui and getting the ferry to koh Tao and I'm actually quite glad it wasn't any longer!

The hotel was having work done at the time so the reception had been moved. The staff were friendly and very helpful (offering us transfers to nearby restaurants and the pier) but the rooms needed more attention. The bathroom wasn't very clean and everything was just a bit worn. The a/c in the room is also very loud so I struggled to sleep. I didn't really get to see the hotel during the day but there wasn't a person in sight around the hotel so it felt a bit isolated and I certainly didn't get that holiday vibe. Sadly I couldn't ever imagine myself going back.

We (2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 7) stayed in a Grand Pool Villa for 10 nights. The hotel is beautifully presented; the Christmas lights throughout the garden were spectacular.
The Grand Pool Villa is definitely big enough for a family of four. The two queen sized beds are in the main room, with an ensuite bathroom (separate shower and spa bath) and a living room. There was a good selection of TV channels and a DVD player is also provided.
The plunge pool was used a few times by the kids.
The room was serviced very well and the turn down service at night is a nice touch.
The restaurant was very good with a good selection of high quality western and Thai food.
We liked the somewhat remote location as we always hire a car here in Samui (taxis are a rip off).
Useful tip: 24 hours of internet is 24 hours of ‘on time’; not 24 hours from activation.

We went to Samui Buri Beach resort Mid December 2013 with our 2 toddlers (2.5 y/o and 4 y/o). The location is very nice, quiet and has many kids friendly restaurants around. The resort is well located with its own beach. Not white fine sand but much more quiet than Chaweng area, so well appreciate with kids. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Even if some don't speak very well English, they call someone who speaks well. The rooms are spacious, clean with a balcony. I thing the bathrooms have to be renovated, but you don't spend your time there so it is not a big deal. The food is ok, Thai food is very good but western dishes are ok. Good quality for the money.

We are staying in this resort for almost 3 weeks. It is a great family friendly hotel. Big room with lots of toys for kids, gym for parents. While parents are exercising, kids are playing. Our hotel room is big and cleaned very well twice a day. We have access to a swimming pool. The main infinity pool is big and beautiful with kids area too. Breakfast tasty and good variety.
I can find only two downsides in this hotel needed to be addressed by the management:
- Internet WIFI should be free in such level resort. Here it costs 100B per hour
- Restaurant staff should speak better English, sometimes they don't understand what clients say
Still, it is great value for money on the nice quiet Mae Nam beach.

Wow not the experience we expected after reading good reviews
Really disappointed in this place it was not worth staying here, a budget hotel in koh tao offered us better service!
Staff do not speak good English so everytime we tried to order something it was a disaster
Room service took 4 phone calls and then the wrong dish was delivered followed by another phone call to advise the dish we wanted wasn't available
Request for milk with our tea, NONE provided in room took 3 phone calls to obtain milk! Something I would have expected in the room considering it is a resort! They delivered more coffee instead of milk!!! Another phone call to describe milk, finally it arrived
Movies didn't work
Crappy food apart from the deserts were amazing
Loud air con
Mosquitos in room
Loud banging from people walking around above us
TV is set to a low volume so have to turn air con off to hear it
No free wifi, paid 400 bht for 24hours & have to continue logging in as
The staff were really friendly and lovely but they didn't understand anything we requested which is a shame
I don't like leaving bad comments but we are on our honeymoon and this is the worst service we have experienced t drops out
We moved to the pool area whilst waiting for our cab only to find everyone had to move at 1pm!!!!! so they could set up for lunch: very disappointing
Do not waste your time or money here

My sister and i decided on a holiday together, just us girls, somewhere we could chill out and have total relaxation. We got what we came for at this resort. From the moment we arrived the staff were so friendly and helpful, whatever we needed was never a problem. The room we stayed in was spacious and nicely maintained, cleaned and re-stocked daily. The room also had a plunge pool which was lovely. The property is beautifully maintained,(grounds and gardens) and the walk down to breakfast daily was very pleasant. The restaurant is also very nice, perched right on a private beach with attentive staff. The pool is one of the best i have seen! It caters for everyone, with a couple of smaller pools for the kids and also a spa. The swim up bar is great too! You can also choose to laze in the sun down on the private beach. The reception staff were informative about activities on the island and helped us out with maps and also some local knowledge. The GM was an approachable and lovely man too and was asking about our stay. Ping Pong and Nisa are a great asset to this resort, even up to the
day we were leaving they made sure we looked after! I would not hesitate to come back here, it was awesome. Thankyou to all for a lovely holiday. Deborah. P.S The shirt did fit very nicely!

Room Tip: Room with a plunge pool!
