Honeymooned here in September 2012 for 10 days. It was paradise, beautiful resort, excellent breakfasts. Very friendly staff. I'd go back tomorrow if it weren't for the long haul flight. Very highly recommended.
I would strongly suggest walking up the road and trying the local resteraunts and bars. Also up the road they do an excellent laundry service too! Staff are happy to drop you off on the main Street using a rather nippy golf cart. Be sure to visit the walking market in the fisherman's village.

If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay that is away from the main beach in Koh Samui this is the place to stay!
It is off the main road and located on a quiet beach, which made us feel very remote and private. The staff are extremely helpful and nothing was a problem for them. Our room was massive with a huge spa and separate shower. The whole resort was quiet, clean and fresh, everything we were looking for on our relaxing holiday and to top it off it has an infinity pool with a swim up bar.

Room Tip: We arrived to Koh Samui to a Resort that was not what we expected, thankfully to Wotif we were stayi...

We booked 11 nights at this resort for our honeymoon on recommendation from the travel agent.
When we arrived all looked good, nice reception area. However we were shown to our deluxe villa which stunk of damp. We left windows open for a while but to no avail so asked to change rooms. We were told ok if the manager allows. Thankfully the manager did allow. Next villa was ok but nothing luxurious as we had imagined. The shower didn't work properly, although they came to show us how to use it, it was tricky and temperamental. On the first morning my husband went to use the fitness centre. He found it to be in a very poor state and the machinery very dated. We were told that night staff maintain the gym and guests can turn the air con on if they wish. I would say air con needs to be permanently on, this is a gym in a hot country. The breakfast was very disappointing, food was often cold or looked like it had been left out from the previous day. Our complaint was met with ' the food is standard' I would say it's below standard. Tables were left with dirty plates on and it seemed it was a real effort for staff to get a cup of coffee. By the pool we had to endure the same CD on repeat all day, very annoying and not conducive to a relaxing honeymoon.
This looks like a place that could have been once a really nice hotel, the swimming pool (minus annoying CD ) is it's only redeeming feature. We left the resort after 4 nights and paid to go elsewhere. We do not yet have a refund but hope that we will get one for the remaining 7 nights we paid for that we didn't stay.
I have never written a bad review on trip advisor but feel that if you are looking for something with luxury for your honeymoon this isn't the place to go.

This was our only dissapointing hotel throughout our stay. It's a pity as there is a lot going for it in terms of location. However it seemed clear to us that there is very poor management here.
We stayed in a pool access room. Very nice to look at but you would not want to go in the pool. There was no pump so the water never moved. Not sure if there was any filtration either. In 5 days we did not see anyone go in the water. The room was very large and fairly well appointed. However the cleaning was not up to scratch. To pull the curtains behind the TV cabinet you had to stand on a chair. When you looked down at the top of the cabinet - urghh - very dirty. I guess it is an old building and although an attempt had been made to keep it maintained it just did not meet the mark. The aircon was the noisiest of the 7 hotels we stayed at and we resorted to earplugs at night to keep it on.
On one of our 5 days there we had to call housekeeping at 4.30 as our room had not been made up.
A wedding took place on one day we were there. This was very annoying. We went to the beach after breakfast and it was cordoned off. We were told to go to the pool. Excuse me?? I have paid to stay here. Eventually they set up some chairs at the other end of the beach. However this is not good enough when we are paying guests. They could have sorted this out well before then and made everyone happy.
The biggest annoyance was breakfast. Shambles was the best way to explain it. Trying to get tea or coffe was a major task. They did not know what to do at the egg station and this coupled with some very pushy guests made it a very annoying experience. Rarely were tables cleaned and plates continued to pile up. On our last day due to an early flight we were there at 6.30am. We thought great - a relaxing breakfast. We were the only ones there with 3 staff. Not a chance. plates piled up and long waits for tean and coffee. I think the staff mean well but there was no guidance or presence of management at any time throughout our stay that we could see.
We had one meal in the restaraunt and I have to say it was very good although the service was not too good. However there are lots of great restaraunts nearby so we only ate there once.
The beach was great, quiet and spacious with only a few friendly sellers. You MUST go to the beach bar to the right, Coco Ricos. A great place to relax and very reasonable. Also the beach massages are very good
Not a place we would return to and you should consider it carefully before you do

Having just finished 9 days at Samui Buri, I can honestly say we had an amazing holiday. That being said, there are a few improvements that should be made.

Firstly, there is no free wifi anywhere in the resort. There should at least be wifi in the lobby or other communal areas.

Secondly all the bathrooms need renovation. Not just in the rooms but in the restaurant and pool area.

Also, we noticed that most nights had a buffet in the restaurant. This normally wouldn't be a problem however we never saw any guests partaking therein. There appeared to be a large waste of food. We hope the food is given to staff to take home to avoid wastage.

We stayed in a villa and the rooms (especially the wooden wardrobe) smelled very musty. The outside appearance/setting of the villa was lovely, but furniture etc needs updating (we understand that it is a traditional theme, which is great. However some updating required). Also the air conditioning unit could only be on or off. Changing the temperature on the control panel didn't do anything. We were either too hot or too cold.

Having said all of this, the outdoor areas are stunning. The pool is absolutely amazing and the restaurant had some of my favorite thai dishes.

The poolside bar was great, and the staff were extremely friendly. We liked being away from the party areas however the twice a day shuttle service to chaweng was very useful.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the above issues did nothing to detract from our trip.

I stayed here for 1 night between landing on Samui and getting the ferry to koh Tao and I'm actually quite glad it wasn't any longer!

The hotel was having work done at the time so the reception had been moved. The staff were friendly and very helpful (offering us transfers to nearby restaurants and the pier) but the rooms needed more attention. The bathroom wasn't very clean and everything was just a bit worn. The a/c in the room is also very loud so I struggled to sleep. I didn't really get to see the hotel during the day but there wasn't a person in sight around the hotel so it felt a bit isolated and I certainly didn't get that holiday vibe. Sadly I couldn't ever imagine myself going back.

We (2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 7) stayed in a Grand Pool Villa for 10 nights. The hotel is beautifully presented; the Christmas lights throughout the garden were spectacular.
The Grand Pool Villa is definitely big enough for a family of four. The two queen sized beds are in the main room, with an ensuite bathroom (separate shower and spa bath) and a living room. There was a good selection of TV channels and a DVD player is also provided.
The plunge pool was used a few times by the kids.
The room was serviced very well and the turn down service at night is a nice touch.
The restaurant was very good with a good selection of high quality western and Thai food.
We liked the somewhat remote location as we always hire a car here in Samui (taxis are a rip off).
Useful tip: 24 hours of internet is 24 hours of ‘on time’; not 24 hours from activation.
