Came here a couple of times during week in Aviemore. Had lunch one day and evening meal on another. Both in the bar. Really nice soups and an evening main of Cesar salad. Good food and reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Dog friendly. Great view from the bar looking across the loch. Lots going on outside during the day. Terrific place for children. Off the bar, a veranda to sit on when weather good.

One of the best things here is that there is a small enclosed pool at the side of the lake where we were taught, so no waves and little wonder. The instructor was good, and we soon got the hang of how to do it. We were able to go out on to the loch for a practice, and finished the lesson by being towed to the far end of the loch and paddling back ourselves.

There is also a nice cafe here, but parking is tight.

Was it worth it? Well, my daughters wanted to go back the next day, so it was a big hit.

We had the worst 2 nights of our holiday staying in the main halls a family of four squeezed into a small grubby room, none of us wanted to use the shower unit as it was so small old, dirty and acquired contortion to have a shower. I had to pay before we stayed 235 for 2 nights absolute Rip Off ruined our stay in Scotland. Found a cake left from the previous tenant under the bed. We came from a Travelodge which was only 80 pounds per night for a family room with clean white sheets, clean room, excellent shower facilities and the ability to cancel same day with full refund. This company need to take a look at their competitors will never stay here or recommend it to a friend. I am Scottish and it saddens me to write this.

We had a family holiday with 2 lodges booked. One of the lodges was a large one and the other was to take 5. My lodge for 5 was great - did what you need for a holiday lodge. The only complaint from eldest son was that as lodges are wooden he could hear the family next door - don't think this can be held against the lodges as this is just a holiday lodge. The other lodge, the bigger one, did have an issue with the shower in that due to the way the floor is designed it doesn't drain away well and tends to flood the whole floor of the bathroom as it is essentially a wet room.
The boathouse restaurant was used three times and we all enjoyed the various meals on offer. We have 3 celiac's in the family and there was enough gluten free options to keep them happy. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We used the water sports on about 3 different days doing a range of activities. I think the various pricing options are fair and the staff and instructors are very friendly and helpful. Most of the equipment was in great nick - only slight criticism was some wetsuits had holes in them - it was only a very minor issue.
Overall a great place and we certainly intend to return.
