“Fabulous family place”
Reviewed 20 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Thank you very much for your hospitality and thoughtful attention throughout our stay. We had wonderful time in your lovely home! It definitely exceeded my expectations.

The house is perfect for a family with small children. It was spotless and fully equipped with everything a family might need including a toy box and outdoor toys. Our two year old boy loved running around in the garden exploring. All in all we had a fantastic time and would love to come back some time! Thank you.

“What a gem”
Reviewed 5 January 2018 for a stay in December 2017

Me, my wife and 2 yr old stayed at the Sangar over the new year period and had a magical time. Ron was a superb host and went out of his way to make our stay really special. The cottage is well equipped and has the added feature of a log fire that made the winter nights very cosy. We can not recommend this place enough and will be looking at returning next year. Any family wanting a warm, well equipped and welcoming place will need look no further than the Sangar.

“Very convenient and beautiful place in the heart of the Cairngorms”
Reviewed 30 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We spend almost a week in the Sangar and enjoyed the place a lot! We got more information about the area from Ron then we could ever use in the days we were there, and the house itself is very well equipped with everything you need for a family (including toys for the kids!). The view from the house are great (red squirrels in the garden yay!) and there are great walks you can do from the house itself. And very close to other nice villages and walks. Perfect place to discover the Cairngorms from!

Thanks Tim. Travelling to and from your home in The Netherlands via ferry to Newcastle and then in your car to The Sangar (about 4 hours) was a good idea and a relatively easy way to get there. A well planned trip & we hope to see you again soon.

“Great house in a great location for exploring Aviemore”
Reviewed 24 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

This house is in a great location, only 6 miles from Aviemore, in a lovely quiet cul-de-sac with fantastic views of the Cairngorms. More than adequate space for a family of 4 with an enormous secluded and safe garden for children. Inside it was clean, spacious, cosy and very well equipped. A true home from home! Ron is an excellent host.

“Great stay at The Sangar”
Reviewed 23 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

The Sangar is a great place to stay and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time there.
Ron is a very helpful host and was quick to respond with any questions we had and to provide additional information and suggestions.
The house was perfect for our family of 6, and was clean, tidy and well equipped.
The location was great for easy access to walking / mountain bike trails and watersports on lock Insch.
Red squirrels in the garden was an added bonus.
Would definitely stay again.

“Everything you could need for a special break!”

The Sangar is a cosy cottage surrounded by a beautiful garden in the lovely village of Kincraig. It provides everything you need for a short break or extended holiday & is immaculate & full of character, With comfortable bedrooms, a super drying room & a lovely, light sitting room with a welcoming open fire it is a real haven. The garden offers an outdoor sitting area with its own wildlife entertainment in the form of a selection of birds & cheeky wee red squirrels.
We loved being in such a beautiful, quiet spot but only a ten minute drive to Aviemore with all its sporting activities, cafes & restaurants, perfect location!

“Perfect base for a trip to the area, and the perfect host”
Reviewed 27 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We cannot fault our stay here, the house was spotless on arrival and is very homely and comfortable. Everything we needed was here, and the location is great, very peaceful but easily accessible. The red squirrels and various birds visiting the feeders throughout the day were a wonderful bonus, so nice to watch from the comfort of the lounge. Ron was the perfect host, always available and hugely knowledgable and helpful, providing us with loads of local information and suggestions. Cannot praise the property or the host highly enough. Definitely hope to return for a longer stay in the future.

A two day stay is not what we encourage but your comments demonstrate that, when well planned and weather permitting, it can work well. We look forward to welcoming you back.
