I was working near Redhill for a year and enjoyed using this characterful and homely B&B as my base. Just 5mins walk from Redhill station, but set in a quiet area without traffic or train noise so I always got a good night's sleep. Breakfasts were both varied and plentiful and the addition of Classic FM to breakfast service made for an exceptionally civilised start to the day.

Facilities and transport links are very close. Shops, pubs, restaurants, barber, dry cleaner etc. in Redhill are within walking distance and major transport hubs are easily accessible: Redhill station is 30mins from London Victoria & 10mins from Gatwick Airport. Yet rooms suffer no noise and there is a nice well kept garden I relaxed in on nice days.

It is a wonderful little corner of England; I found it very charming and it will be my first choice should I return to Southeast England.

PS: I spent some time admiring this old Victorian house; many features have been retained and en-suite facilities have been fitted without too much alteration to the rooms. It was evident a lot of work goes into maintaining original windows and other period features.

Room Tip: All rooms are fine as long as you remember you need to preheat the water for the shower.

I stayed here for 3 weeks and had a very pleasant experience. The rooms were good and clean. Breakfast was good with multiple options. Situated near the towncentre and easy accessiblity to restaurants.

The owners were very kind and helpful. Overall, this is one of the best place i've stayed in UK, I will certainly recommend it.

This guest house is worth your stay. It is clean, quaint and deliberately decorated in period time. Breakfast is full and well cooked and is eaten with classical music in the background. The staff are all warm, pleasant and respectful. I recommend it.

Booked here as we were going to a party around the corner. Had been warned off other hotels in Redhill so went for this one. Booked via email and got quick responses.

When we arrived we rang bell, knocked and rang bell again, but with no answer. Ended up phoning them to say we were outside. Later that evening we were told by friends that their relatives experienced the same thing the week before.

Our room was right at the top of the house, lots of stairs. Room was good, clean and with everything you would expect. A few points need attention, such as lights not working. Our bathroom was separate, the door to which was about 5 foot tall, nearly knocked myself out twice!!!

Rooms are described as having showers, but this room had a bath which you could not stand up in because of the roof. The shower was a very old fashioned attachment which was very fiddly. The toilet was the same with the roof meaning you could not use it without bending!

Breakfast was ok, not a an of tinned tomatoes, the sausage was cheap but egg and fried bread were cooked well. Good selection of cereals and fruit.

For the price I expected a litte bit more, plus there was a charge for paying by card.

My family stayed here for one night on our way to visit family working in the area and for a day out to Chessington World of Adventures.

We received a very warm welcome on our arrival and found the rooms and other areas clean and presentable.

I would reccommend this guest house to others.

We booked here based on reviews on this site but were very disappointed. The owners were very friendly, however the room was average and the bathroom was extremely poor. It was an electric shower out of a caravan that required you to preheat it for 30 mins before use, and even then, still only gave you 5 mins of hot water. The toilet was a sanifloe that made so much noise when you flushed that it could not be flushed at night. Finally, be aware that, unlike most other places in the UK, prices here do not include vat. Had we known all of this prior, we would definitely not have stayed here and gone to the travelodge around the corner.

We very pleased to hear feedback of the great service we offer but are also sorry to hear about disappointment with aspects of the en-suite bathroom.

Our electric showers are typical of this style of period guest house and, although require five minutes of pre-heating, are much greener than standard central systems. The toilets are also highly energy-efficient and do not make excess noise as suggested here. It is absolutely encouraged for guests to use any of the facilities, at any time, during your stay with us.

Finally, we do not publish our prices here on Tripadvisor so we are unsure as to the nature of the concern raised here regarding VAT. All our prices are on our own website and have always included VAT in accordance with HMRC guidelines. This is done to remain clear and to promote our highly competitive prices here in Surrey.

Kindest regards

This very pleasant Guesthouse (south of London) is best arrived at in daylight. The operators appeared friendly and accommodating to any request.
It is set in a very quiet street about 200 metres off the main road and about 250 metres from Redhill Railway Station. It is ideally situated for transport to the centre of London (Victoria Station). It takes 30 minutes to travel that distance and trains run approximately every 20 minutes Monday to Friday and 30 minutes at weekends.
The house itself is three levels and is freestanding, set in its own grounds with some parking on the apron at the front of the house.
Although it indicates that it is a Non Smoking property the smell of stale cigarette smoke is the first thing that one experiences when entering the foyer. Fortunately the room that I occupied was not affected by this odour. The breakfast room, which is off the main foyer, does not seem to be affected either. Small points perhaps but the operators indicate a Non Smoking property.
The room that I occupied was clean, bright and although on the smallish side was adequate for two people. It was at one time a large room but the addition of an ensuite bathroom and toilet consequently cut down the amount of available space. This is a problem for houses of this type that have been “converted” to multiple accommodations. As a result of this “conversion” other problems arise the most notable is – no immediate hot water. The procedures for obtaining hot water for washing and showering are not onerous, but it can be a detraction from the overall impression. The addition of some hooks in the bathroom would be of assistance but all in all a very comfortable room.
Breakfast is of two types, Continental type and Full English. Very adequate, well presented and served. The amount of food available was more than sufficient and at a standard one would expect from this type of establishment.
A very nice place to stay and is recommended with only one drawback – the hot water availability.

It is wonderful to hear such detailed positive feedback from our guests. This review is very honest and accurate. The location is really a fantastic selling point for us. The points about the en-suite bathrooms is noted and the reviewer is quite correct in pointing out that this is part of the nature of period guesthouses.

We are extremely proud of our excellent facilities but it should be elaborated upon that this building is 110 years old, making it the earliest Edwardian/Victorian place to stay in the whole town. (Given this statement we also offer the fastest fiber-optic broadband in town also!)

Kind regards
