A must visit holiday location when you want to be away from the hustle up city life in an exotic location, like Phuket, Thailand. Right on the beach, the resort, though away from the city centre, has got all amenities. All rooms are sea facing, with balconies and one can view excellent sun rises from the balcony of the rooms. The restaurant is also fabulous and the spread for buffet break fast can beat any property of its class.

Room Tip: Please stay in the rooms nearer to lift.

We stayed for 4 night. But first night we were decide had dinner at hotel restaurant. We made ordered as normally.it was around 20 min later.I can see one waitress with the food tried to looking for guest table to served the food.she walked over our table and i was looking at her a little bit with my curiously.I found out she was take our food to somewhere and never look at our table. Finally she walked back to the kitchen and then she come back with a women(Guess she is restaurant leader) in a few minute. That woman asked us Is this your dishes of food (during that time she was show us the dishes too)Why you don't take it? Me and my Bf were shocked with her asking in 3 sec.Her sound and behave seem like very upset with us because of we didn't show up during the waitress looking for table to serving. How can 5 hotel staff asked this question to the guest. That is not our mistaken.Your waitress should know since the first taken any dishes of food to serve and not our duty to tell you.Anyway the location and reception staff were nice with us including with hotel taxi.

My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights from 28th March 2014. Firstly, it's worth noting that this hotel is not expensive in its category and we had a deluxe seaview room with breakfast for around £100 per night per room. You can spend a lot more or less, and this is probably in the middle of the price range available in Cape Panwa. There are only 9 actually registered hotels, but plenty of places in addition run by locals if you decide to not advance book.

We got a taxi from outside the airport. You will be bombarded with choice as soon as you leave the terminal and we ended up going to one of the actual taxi stands who charge a set price of 900 baht to the hotel (around £18), which seemed in keeping. The hotel charge 1100 baht (around £22) so not extortionate if you would prefer. It takes around an hour from the airport to hotel.

Check in - we had no problem at all, our room was ready and there were no other guests checking in. From arrival to the hotel to actually getting to our room I would say took only around 20 minutes. The first impression of the hotel is that it's not pretty - a big lump of grey concrete, but the internal lobby areas and views from the lobby are lovely. Reception staff are very welcoming but their English is very limited when comparing to other Thailand hotels we have stayed in. If you need to ask for anything which isn't entirely standard, this can take some time!

Room - we stayed in Room 6202 and our block was placed in the middle of the resort. Our room was on the second floor and we had a view of the sea, albeit you would need to be higher to enjoy uninterrupted views. The view was nice enough and was worth the small upgrade in price. The room itself was ok - very comfortable bed and the bathroom in particular was well fitted with good facilities. Separate toilet which is always handy. Flatscreen TV with sufficient options, mini bar, complimentary daily water, safe, iron + ironing board, decent hair dryer. Balcony was very nice with hanging facility for drying clothes, table and chairs and day bed. Air con and lighting all good. I do agree with many of the other reviews who advise that cleaning is not up to scratch. There was a horrible drip stain on the inside of the toilet door, skirting boards and blinds very dusty, windows and shower screen dirty and things like the taps and toilet/bathroom fixtures and fittings need descaling. I understand that these items do not need to be cleaned on a daily basis, however, a proper deep clean should be carried out between bookings. The communal areas all seemed to be spotlessly cleaned so I do not understand why the hotel do not have the same standard for their bedrooms.

Daily Housekeeping - we had no issues with this, compared to other reviews. Our room clean was undertaken promptly each day and if we were in the room when they wanted to clean, we would call them when we left and the room was always cleaned by the time we returned. No turn down service - which isn't a massive issue, it's just noted that other hotels in Thailand of the same calibre do offer this.

Breakfast - this was included within our package which is worth doing as according to the menu, it's around £12 per person per day otherwise. Very good selection of fruit, yogurt, cereals, breads, pastries, omlettes/eggs cooked to order. Also a thai section. Very nice coffee! The breakfast room was always busy but we never a problem being allocated a table and always plenty of everything even if you arrived towards the end of the breakfast service.

Pools/beach - the main pool is lovely - very long, same shallow depth all the way through. Plenty of sunbeds and whilst busy, we never had an issue getting one. There is the usual pool towel lot who reserve beds at some unearthly time of day (I wish people wouldn't do this!). We never did and always found a good spot. Plenty of people mentioned disappointment with the beach though honestly this was one of our favourite parts. The tide didn't go out until after 2pm so we had swimming until around this time. It's not deep unless you go several meters out, but this didn't bother us. Lovely breeze on the beach and people seemed to prefer the pool area, so beds were always plentiful down here. There were some water sports available for those who wanted it.

Restaurants/bars - we only ate in the hotel once in the evening and didn't like it at all! We were drawn in by the bucket of prawns and chips night for 700 baht per person. The prawns were flourly and chewy, the chips were in fact self service potato wedges and even though we didn't eat or drink much more in addition, the total bill ended at 2,500 baht (about £50) which was expensive for what we ended up getting. They're quite cheeky in that they charge a 10% service charge and 7% tax on top of any quoted price - so you have to continually take this into account. Additionally, they leave further room for you to add a tip (on top of the 10% always charged), so you're left feeling mean if you don't add something extra. They have a happy hour daily and we took advantage of this a couple of times - the drinks are well made and around £2.50 for a bottle of local beer or £5+ for a spirit/mixer. We're not big drinkers though so this element is less important to us.

Local Area - Directly opposite the hotel are a small selection of restaurants and massage/nail shops. We only ate in the Hilltop opposite twice. The food is pretty good and very good value for money when compared with the hotel but around double compared to the food stalls dotted around. Never seemed very busy, nice welcoming staff and fresh tasting food. Good selection of thai dishes. I had a thai massage which was amazing and only 250 baht for a full hour (around £5) which seems ridiculous when the hotel charge 1700 baht (around £35) for the same thing, albeit in nicer surroundings.

About 10 minutes walk left from the hotel is the Aquarium. On the way you will pass scooters for hire (we did for 150 baht per day, about £3.) There are a couple of 7/11 type supermarkets, a pharmacy, more little restaurants, a bakery, couple of other hotels and a few food/clothing stalls. We ate at the food stalls quite a few times - they do the usual som tum (papaya salad) and meat skewers, really good and only about £1 for each thing.

If you turn right you head towards Phuket which is only around 15 mins by scooter. We went most days - the petrol is only around £2 to completely fill the tank and did this twice. By scooter we found lots of markets, selling everything from 'genuine fakes' to deep fried cockroaches. The food at these places is fantastic, really good value for money and cooked in front at you. We found that where clothing stalls listed prices, the price was relatively non-negotiable. There are also a couple of shopping malls which reminded us of malls from home - not really worth visiting as tourists, though I'm sure great if you live there. We also went into Patong a couple of times, mainly for the pancake stalls! It's a pretty seedy town but great fun if you're after night life and a mini Bangkok experience.

All in all, we enjoyed Cape Panwa and would return, however, not to this hotel. We actually wanted to stay at the Regent Cape Panwa which is 5 minutes further down, but this was over the allocated budget we set. Then their prices went right down around 2 weeks before our holiday and we could have stayed there after all. We did go there a couple of times for dinner and would highly recommend - very VERY good!

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights for our Honeymoon, and absolutely loved it. Was exactly what we were hoping for.
Service from check in to check out was excellent. Could not fault it at all.
We had a suite with a private pool, and it was amazing. Room was very spacious, with large dressing room area. The bed was super comfortable, allowing a very good sleep. The bath was massive, only downside was no spa jets in the bath, but really that is a minor thing. Shower was massive as well, with excellent water pressure. Only minor complaint would be that the private pool isn't all that private, in that it can be seen from some of the walkways. Some extra plants or fencing would fix that.
The pools were fantastic, though maybe a little shallow. There was no deep areas at all. For relaxing there is lots of sunlounges to lay about on. Can highly recommend one of the day beds if you manage to snare one. Is a great way to spend the day, lounging around above the water, relaxing. The swim up bar is great and reasonably priced. Nothing better than sitting in the pool drinking a yummy cocktail. Some minor maintenance is needed as some of the pool tiles were broken or fallen off, but that did not detract from the enjoyment.
Only real negative of the hotel was the restaurants. Breakfast was good, with reasonable selection, but very expensive for what you get. The Thai restaurant was very nice, but again quite pricey. The western style restaurant was very disappointing, neither my wife or myself enjoyed our food there, so only ate there once. As a tip, there is better and much cheaper food options across the road.
Overall, this is a fantastic hotel, and I would not hesitate to come back again for a holiday with my wife.

We spent the first seven nights of our honeymoon here - it was a really relaxing spot with gorgeous design in rooms and public areas. The pool area is fabulous, even if the water level is a little shallow. The beach area is lovely and quiet, and the water crystal clear. I've seen previous comments about the shallowness of the water - but if you keep an eye on the tide table near the bar area and you'll see which is the best time for a slightly deeper swim. It seemed to be mostly couples here and very few kids, so it was a good choice for a honeymoon hotel. In terms of nearby restaurants, our favourites (especially for me as a vegetarian) were Sawasdee for Thai about 10 minutes walk to the left and Curry Night across the road for Indian. It's handy having a mini mart and pharmacy across the road, but otherwise this area is pretty quiet - not a busy strip. The hotel menu doesn't have a great selection for vegetarians and beware the bits of eggs that will appear in rice and noodle dishes, despite it not being listed as an ingredient - it would be good if the hotel could rectify this by mentioning this on their future menus. I had a gorgeous chickpea salad for breakfast one morning - maybe they could incorporate this on the menu too along with other protein-rich options? Their express check-out system wasn't a great experience for us, nor the fact that we were totally forgotten about during check-in and had to remind them we were still waiting, especially after such a long flight. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: We had a sea view room on third floor but view was slightly obstructed as room was on an side angle...
