We stayed in the pool villa and absolutely lived it! The layout was great- modern, comfortable, spacious, great views and clean! The staff was so nice and helpful and the food was great! Definitely take advantage of the free daily breakfast, snacks, and cocktails. The pools were clean and the beach was private. We will stay at a Regent wherever we travel to next.

We stayed in a pool villa for a week. Pluses: the room layout; the views from our villa; the Regent Club is great; the cocktail hour; wifi and laundry service. Minuses (and there are a few): very plain outdoor area at villa making it not that great to spend time in; and the service. Look, the staff try but the lack of language skills and training make every meal and experience hard work. You make allowances but the lack of visibility of managers or leaders looking after the place was noticeable. We went to see friends staying at the Anantara - for the same money much better service, ambience, food variety and luxury feeling. Take the Regent name of this place and it could be a Sheraton.

Room Tip: Pick pool villas 27 to 34. Best located, and you able to avoid the views of the petrochemical plant...

Dear justjames_10,

Warm greetings from Regent Phuket Cape Panwa.

Thank you for posting your comment. What a contrast from the three previous reviewers. That is why this site is so popular; where travellers are able to express their feelings.

It is disappointing to read that you did not fully enjoy your stay with us even if our Pool Villa and its amenities particularly impressed you. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused by our team and our mangers who did not see you.

We appreciate your comments about the language skills of our team. Almost all of our service employees speak English as a second language and undergoes extensive language training. We didn't experience such problem to this extent before but we will take your comments into account in the next training sessions to make sure our service is always at the highest of standards.

We look forward to be at your service again.
Warm regards,

As all reviewers already said, this place is beautiful, the rooms are modern, clean and spacious and the service is flawless.

What makes it really different is that most of the extras are included in the price, unlike many so-called "luxury" hotels when you will have to pay an indecent price for anything.

Here are just a few examples :
- You will get one free I-pad per room, with wi-fi internet access working anywhere in the resort, from the beach to the pool
- Included breakfast is awesome. Nowhere in Thailand I have had the chance to eat real spanish Iberico ham for breakfast like here
- Free mini bar and snacks, refilled once per day
- Free laundry everyday
- Free on demand movies in the room...
- Free transport from the reception to the hotel gate
- etc..

With no hidden costs whatsoever, you can enjoy a great experience there.
This is by far the best value for money we have found on Phuket, especially if you can catch one of their special offers

If you eat at the restaurant, I'd recommend western food over thai food. Thai food will of course be more pricey than the restaurants around the hotel, and not so different.
Western food however really tastes like western food, which is quite noteworthy.

Will definately go back at Regent next time we travel to Phuket !

Room Tip: We had the chance to visit the suites, the pavillion rooms and the pool villas. Pavilion rooms are d...

Dear pipeye23,

Warm greetings from Regent Phuket Cape Panwa.

Thank you for posting your review. We love your review subject “Real affordable luxury”. You really enjoyed our luxurious resort and all the little extra benefits included, didn't you?

It is our intention to provide guests a worry-free stay. We truly understand that our guests would not like to experience a surprised cost. And we are glad to read that you appreciate it.

And yes, the Spanish Iberico ham is always the winner at our breakfast. We hope you enjoyed other fresh items too.

We certainly look forward to welcoming you back on your next holiday in Phuket.

The hotel is located in the southern tip of the island. It is about one hour drive from the airport. We stayed for 5 days in a pol villa and it was great. The villa was secluded and had stunning view to the bay. The room is modern, in very good state maintenance and very clean. The gardens are beautiful

All the restaurants are very good with good choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can choose from Western and Thai style dishes. We enjoyed all our meals there. My wife did two Thai cooking lessons with chef Soi, which were great. Chef Soi was an excellent instructor. She explained how to prepare main Thai dishes from the basic ingredients, step-by-step.

The beach is small and with rocks. We did not spend much time there. I recommend the spa. Very good massages.

The staff is very polite and helpful.

If you want to relax, enjoy the view, and have nice Thai food, The Regent is the place to go.

Room Tip: Pleasechoose rooms with view to the sea, they a nice breeze. The lagoon side is not as nice.

Dear Marcelo72,

Warm greetings from Regent Phuket Cape Panwa.

Thank you very much for sharing your review following your recent stay with us.

How nice to read that your 5 nights stay with us was wonderful. You chose our luxurious Pool Villa and you found it was the right choice as you can relish its facilities and enjoy the sea view right from your bed. We are glad that your wife had fun at the Thai Cooking classes and appreciate your compliments of khun Soi, our Thai Chef. We believe that Thai cuisine becomes one of your family’s favorite menus now.

The spa treatment provided was a real pleasure for you, we are glad that you had a restful experience and look forward to welcoming you and your wife back to this relaxing resort soon.

I spent about two weeks choosing a hotel for a short vacation in Phuket with my husband in October 2013. We only had a few days so I wanted it to be really great. After searching reviews for days, I finally chose the Regent Phuket Cape Panwa. We were not disappointed. The service at this hotel is unlike any I have ever seen. We arrived late - around 1:00 am. Most hotels have a skeleton crew that late. Not the Regent. We were greeted warmly with a lovely tea and several smiling staff members who helped us check in in total comfort. We stayed in a suite which was very nice. It was extremely comfortable with a fantastic balcony (AMAZING view), a bathtub, and a lot of nice amenities. The minibar is included with the room which is a nice touch. It included drinks (water, beer, soda) and some interesting Thai snacks. The first full day we were there, it rained the whole day so we decided to check out the spa. We splurged a bit and had the couples body scrub and massage package. It is a bit expensive by Thai standards, but compared to massages in the U.S. it was pretty reasonable (2 1/2 hours for around $130 USD / person). What an experience! We felt so pampered! It was a lovely way to spend a rainy day in paradise. As the other reviewers said before me, the food, the pool, and the exceptional service are what make this hotel a luxury hotel. The breakfast is really as good as everyone else said. My husband does not get up for breakfast (ever!!), and he got up and ate every day that we were there because it was that good. We were in Asia for several weeks and he and I both agree that the best food we had on the whole trip was at this hotel in Phuket. The pool is breathtaking. But beyond all of this, the one thing that really blew us away, surprisingly enough, was the checkout process. We had a late flight back to Bangkok after 7:00 pm. When we checked in, the hotel asked about when we would be leaving and when we told them we had a late flight, they offered us a late checkout for noon, and then a "day room" until 5:00 pm. The day room was fantastic! It had a shower, TV, phone, couch, everything that we needed. So we were able to spend our last afternoon by the pool knowing that we had a place to keep our luggage and clean up when it was time to leave. This hotel really goes above and beyond. It deserves the luxury branding. I highly highly recommend it.

We stayed there for a three nights and four days.

Love the hotel, very beautiful place.
Love the pool, overlooking the Andaman Sea with the yatch in the background...very scenic!
Love the tropical garden, a lot of hard work for gardeners..so Bravo!
Love love a lar carte breakfast!

The hotel is quiet far, however we had no problems as we had a car to use during our stay. I would like to thanks to the Bell Team and Valet Parking for their help and welcome attitude during our stay.

Also would like to thank to Concierge team for the help provided on last minute change on our tickets due to family urgency.

We think that the service can be improved to become a real 5 stars. We noted that the staff are more attentive to foreigners, which was a bit of letting down when we paid the same rate?

For example; during breakfast one day, we were the only Thai table in the section. It was quite obvious that the staff named Noi who was in our section did not service our table at all while she was very attentive to the foreign guests the table next to us.

Would be much appreciated if the management take this into account to elevate service standard?

Overall, we are really happy! Once again, luv the hotel!

There were not many kids when we stayed end of October but our six-year old daughter LOVED going to kids club (8am- 8pm) and playing with the lovely staff there... Thank you Piya, Oh and A for making our stay just perfect. I can imagine, though, the kids club is a bit small for teenagers.

We took a day trip to Coral Island from the port nearby and we felt safe in the hands of Usop with his longtail boat. The snorkeling there was fabulous and made up for the tiny beach that is part of Regent. Shallow and safe enough for kids and the 20 minute ride makes it a fun half-day trip.

The gorgeous spa is a little pricey but worth it when you sit on the expansive balcony for post treatment tea... The best view in Phuket! You can always take the free shuttle to Central Festival shopping mall and get various treatments there. We loved the room service and breakfast and staff were all lovely to our daughter. We were sad to leave.....
