We booked for early dinner and arrived with a 4yr old child, Reception a little bit icy and I put that down to not being a couple. Our girl is no bother but of course I guess the team didnt know that so we had to practically go the whole meal for them to finally warm up to us.
By the end it was all smiles from them (Maybe because we were leaving!)
OK so I enclose a lot of photos. The meals that come up look great. No complaints about the visuals. They look well composed.
Our child had basic fish and chips but it was good quality.
Cocktails well executed and delivered,
Wife finished off with the Flambe crepe suzette. Which the main man attended to.
One slight niggle. This man has served up way too many dinners because you can see his heart and soul is no longer in it! We were greeted with a sharp YES what you want for pudding so we really did (not) feel very welcome.
Rest of the team barely broke out into a smile. So this was quite a painful dining experience.
Another thing did irritate me a bit... At the end of the meal and our four year old having sat quietly with impeccable table manners was starting to get tired. Not an issue. But then the main man comes over. He could see she had been the model diner so what did he do? Decide to play a game with her where he removed her Teddies and pretended to hide them. Now you would think that if you have a child behaving really well and its late.. Would the best idea to make her smile is to take away her comfort toys...
Let me guess here. I think the guy probably is not so good with the kids. Thats why he is head waiter at Top of the Reef. Its Fine Dining and not geared up for the small ones.
Even so it did annoy me. Final bill not cheap. Overall we were underwhelmed more by the lack of great service which for Thailand was a bit of an eye opener!!
Food Great. Service dodgy.,,,
Will try to load up a load of pics for you
