We stayed at the Hotel Pfoesl for 5 nights and they were absolutely wonderful. The scenery is amazing and there was a lovely local slope 5 minutes walk from the hotel (with a cosy and friendly bar across the street from the slope). The slope was also fantastic because there was literally no one else on it for most of the day! The only problem for us was that the slope only rents skiis and we went to snowboard but there is a rental shop in nova ponente (about 5 minutes drive away).

The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony even in the standard room (although at 5' 10" my feet did hit the footboard repeatedly throughout the night). The hotel is beautifully decorated and the wellness centre is fantastic (pool, saunas, steam room, meditation room etc.) - just know that co-ed nudity is the norm. Our price included a lavish breakfast, afternoon tea and an immense 5-course dinner. The dinner was almost too much to eat but delicious! And they were happy to substitute courses as well.

The only negative that I can think of is that they keep the hotel rather warm - so sweaters are definitely not necessary at dinner or at the bar!! The hotel spa also had wonderful massages and treatments (although at usual spa rates so I could not take as much advantage of this as I would have liked!!).

I can not recommend this hotel too highly! It really was a fantastic experience!

the best hotel in the area, with good quality/price ratio. German quality with Italian food and style! It is not a cheap hotel, but it offers quite a lot. They just inaugurated new rooms and new spa a year ago. It is just fantastic. The crowd is not very young (38-65), quite mixed, but very pleasant. Hotel fabulous for relax, very well positioned, just 5 minutes away by car from the slopes.
The food of the restaurant is just amazing. 5 dishes at dinner, very good wines.
Perfect for romantic scapades!

Have been going to this hotel for 14 years every feb-march for a week stay we now feel part of the family there cannot be better hotels at this cost with as much detail and atmosphere as this one, a small private slope close by with bar and LOG fire and free bus to the large more demanding slopes, nothing is too much troble for the family at this hotel never will you get service like this again!!

The hotel is located in a quiet mountain area with nice opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, etc. The view from the room was gorgeous.
Our room was rather large, even with a balcony, and very clean.
Although the hotel might appear as somewhat expensive when looking at the rates, it is absolutely worth it. You get free access to the large and lovely wellness area (both indoor and outdoor) and a rich buffet in the afternoon. In the evening, you can select from several different dinner menus offering a large selection of delicious courses. It is not just a usual hotel restaurant, in fact this is a Gourmet restaurant.
We regret not to have stayed there longer, but will certainly come back.

We stayed at the Hotel Pfoesl for only one night, but it left an excellent impression. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive from Bolzano, one of the major ciites in Northern Italy. The property is surrounded by mountains and alpine meadows. When we drove up to the hotel, we saw a playground for the kids, and greeted the mule, sheep (2), cows, and yellow lab. The inside of the hotel was a great contrast to the outside rustic feeling. Inside was a warm, inviting decor of neutral colors and simple decorating. Our room had one queen bed and two twin beds for the kids and was very comfortable. They even had "kid sized" robes. The bathroom was spacious. We opted for the half board package and were very pleased with our 5 course gourmet dinner. A highlight was the basil pesto gnocchi with bacon. There was a choice of two or three items for every course. They were happy to accomodate the kids for whatever they wished to eat. Breakfast was a sprawling buffet of fresh breads, cererals, eggs, meats, cheese, and spreads. The hotel had a heated pool downstairs which looked lovely, but we didn't go in. There was also a mini spa with several spa services. All in all, we were very happy with the property itself and the high level of service we received. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially to those traveling with families.
