The lodge needs a little upgrade, especially an air condition for the hot summer month. Just a ventilator is not enough. Curtains don't fit properly. Unfortunately there is a pub or something close by, therefore we could hear loud music.
The location to Twyvelfontein and other excursion plaeces in Damaraland is excellent. The food was not so good the first night, but the second night was really enjoyable.
Two nights singing from the same choir, with the same songs is not necessary.
What is the problem to buy a toaster when the old one packs up????

We stayed one night on a small group tour, but weren't impressed by Igowati Lodge. The rooms were very dated and overdue for upgrade. The bar area was pleasant for an evening drink but the food was average. We enjoyed the group of young men who sang after dinner.

I spent the night at iGowati in Khorixas on a recent business trip to Namibia. It was quite a pleasant respite in this otherwise dusty little town. The lodge sits inside a secure walled compound and is surrounded by some nice grounds, including a fenced off area where they keep a few springbok and ostriches. Also within the grounds is an attractive campground area with grassy private sites and braai areas. The lodging and reception area are typically African in style with nice thatched roofs and thick stucco walls. The room I had was nice enough however it was a bit dark and stuffy for my liking, with small windows and low hanging eves and very poor lighting. The bed was comfy and fortunately there was a fan to keep the air moving through the night. There was no TV, AC, or internet. The bathroom was large and nicely decorated in stone, however the sink and toilet were cheap plactic affairs which I thought were a bit tacky. The Namibian buffet dinner at the restaurant was quite good I thought, even with some kudu ribs which were very tasty. Also a good selection of salads and a few desserts. The indoor/outdoor bar/dinign area was a nice place to relax with a few drinks. The reception staff were very nice and welcoming and there was also a friendly lodge cat hanging around for a pet.

Overall I had a decent stay here and would recommend it to other travelers passing through Khorixas. I thought it was quite reasonably priced and would stay here again given the opportunity.

The camping setup was actually pretty good. Power point, grassy tent sights and potable water. The dinner at night was also good. The problem was the bar across the street that played loud music all through the night. Fortunately I had ear plugs but still not good. The staff was very good and attentive,

Stayed here en route to Swakopmund which was convenient, however the hotel is situated across the road from the local beer house which was extremely noisy and only quietened down at 5am! This is, according to staff, the norm. Rooms need updating and are drab and uninviting. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Kudu steak at dinner was excellent. Breakfast was awful with greasy bacon, egg and kudu sausage served...inedible. Only saving grace is it's location and freindly staff. I would find an alternative route and stay elsewhere next time.

We spent 2 nights here, having booked independently. We had to chase confirmation but were advised that we didn't need to print out the confirmation email. However, we were glad we had when we came to check in, as we began to feel we might have been turned away otherwise.

The bedroom was rather dark and looked in need of a coat of paint, not helped by dim lighting. Otherwise it was an OK room.

Food-wise, not much to write home about. We were told breakfast was 7-9am, dinner 7-9pm. We turned up just before 7pm - a rather depleted buffet as dinner had clearly started earlier and two groups had taken the lion's share. Dessert included burnt custard which, when pointed out to staff, was still left out and never changed. Same applied in the morning - groups had decimated the breakfast buffet and little had been replenished. Rather oily cooked breakfast. Overall, food choices limited and not of a very good standard.

The swimmingpool was clean but COLD! Towels provided. The area around the pool was earth, so when you came out of the pool your feet were covered in soil and twigs. Also the local wildlife must use the pool for drinking, evidenced by the amount of animal droppings around the pool. Suggest management arranges for the pool area to be swept clean daily.

Great rendition of Amarula, though!

Pleasant enough but the bathroom was dark and the door to it doubled as a door to the wardrobe which was a bit weird.

The staff were very friendly and the food was very acceptable.

Convenient location and although on a busy road and opposite a fuel station it was reasonably quiet.

Perfect for a one night stopover.
