We have just returned from twelve enjoyable nights at Villa Sant'Andrea. The situation of the hotel is delightful with the sea shore and pebble beach directly in front of the hotel. The sea shelves very quickly and you are out of your depth within a few metres, perfect for swimming. As an alternative to the beach there is a new somewhat small swimming pool which is kept at a warm temperature.
The breakfast is excellent, served under the awning on the terrace, in your room, or on your balcony. As you will see from the hotel brochure the majority of the balconies are quite small and you may wish to upgrade your room to ensure more outside space.
Meals tend to be typical Orient Express prices, ie a little on the expensive side, but the hotel shuttle up to Taormina and the cable car within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and of course the many restaurants within walking distance, should ensure that you have plenty of choice to cover all price ranges.
We were fortunate enough to enjoy a magnificent firework display on the beach one evening and of course Carmello at the piano on the terrace after dinner most evenings.
We explored Taormina and it is very easy to book trips further afield; our favourite was to Syracuse. All in all a lovely holiday and we hope to return very soon.More
