What can I say but a huge thank you to all the staff of the Serena Beach Hotel. I have never come across staff who were so unfailingly welcoming, polite, friendly and unobtrusively attentive as this hotel has. Everywhere we went we met smiling faces, Jambo, Welcome and we were made to feel special to them all. The hotel was in a beautiful position, with plenty of palm trees when the sun got too hot. The food was well presented and tasty and the breakfasts were outstanding. The fish restaurant at the beach had a wonderful serene atmosphere with live musicians playing instruments in an unobtrusive style. The grounds were well kept and there seemed to be constant maintenance taking place to keep the hotel up to its impeccable standard. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel, it was quite simply brilliant.

Tennis, squash, swimming, spa, gym, pools, good food, kindness and good service. What a superb stay ! We love Serena hotels and this one did not let us down .Kenya like all African countries has it's share of danger but so has Brixton...don't visit Africa, anywhere if you are scared, Kenyans are our brothers and you will recognise it by their humour!

The service was excellent. The rooms are refurbished to a high standard. And food was v good. All our special needs were looked into,
The staff starting from the front desk to the waiters to the house keeping were so friendly and always ready to help

Having previously stayed at three Serena Properties, I was hopeful that we would receive the same outstanding services and experience at the Serena Beach Hotel & Spa as we had in the other properties. However, the service at the Mombasa property was disappointing to say the least. The service at the main restaurant was slow and the food was nothing to write home about. Wifi was not available at all times as promised. The hotel also needs to make an effort in containing the hawkers along their beach. We were harassed on many occasions as we tried to enjoy the ocean.

On a positive note, the Maisha Spa was excellent. Great ambience and professional and friendly staff. The Jahazi grill was a good experience too.

All in all, for a 5 star hotel, I believe that the Serena Beach Resort & Spa can do much better!

Its a good family destination. .good food, clean hotel, rooms, pool n good services. .I mean with food ..u get ur food on time n drinks..thats a big deal when u have hungry young kids..
Liked the morning aerobics n afternoon water polo for adults in the pool.it was great fun..
They give u a dinner menu in advance n u can add whatever u need...especially for vegetarians...
Now the bad part is..
The kids club??didn't seem like it even existed..a lady would come throw items in the pool n ask kids to pick it n within 10 to 15 minutes..she would just leave..if u asked her if she would assist in checking up on kids as u take a walk on the beach..she would completely refused..
Another thing..I found it abit squashy as well..especially the dinning area n the rooms..thy have so many tables(its a good thing that thy have many guests) but the space between the tables doesn't seem enough..
But overall spent quality time with my family. .but this shouldn't discourage u for trying to get a different experience in Serena mombasa
