We ent here as part of a cruise ship tour.
We were first brought to a showroom. Here we received a short introduction on the brewery’s history and watched a video. In the room were the original tanks and control panel used to brew the beer there.
After that, we went to the bottling building where we saw rows and rows bottles going along on conveyors through the bottling process. It was like watching the beginning of the old “Laverne and Shirley” TV show. You could not tak photos while inside the building.
The tour guide was able to answer all of our questions.
The tour ended at a sampling area beer garden which was a covered area surrounded by trees and flowery bushes. We had 30 minutes to sample as much beer as we wanted to try. They offered about 12 different varieties including non-alcoholic drinks.
Most of the beers were very good. They have a license to bottle Guinness, but it is a much stronger (7% ABV) and heavier stout than what you find out of Ireland.
If you like beer, you will not be disappointed in visiting Banks Brewery.
