I stayed there May 2014 in an ocean front junior suite. I found the room to look like the picture, it was clean and neat. Plenty of space. I was in room 310 which had a beautiful view of both the beach and pool. Ocean was close enough to throw a rock into.Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. air conditioned but had motion sensors so could be tricky to use. Two major negatives were that there was only one available outlet for me to use and it was located by the tv??? not in the bathroom (ladies not plugs for your stuff near a mirror) and the bed was hard as a rock. I could not have slept another night on that bed.
Check in was easy and friendly, the lobby was open and very nice. Decor was nice through out into the dining areas. Service was good for refills and such. The meals were what you would expect for an all inclusive (im vegan) , decent and filling but a lot of the same thing daily. The alcohol however was sub par, the house liquor was just plain bad and the choices for anything else were very limited. Did very little drinking here, which Im sure the resort does not mind. The hotel is located in walking distance of st lawrence gap which had plenty of restaurants and bars, some pricier than others. Seemed fairly safe day and early evening but a lot of vendors to walk past. We used an awesome cab driver while there whose rates were the best and he was very honest. I think his name was Ernesto his number is 1 246 230 1986. He will pick you up in a nice car and he does tours as well.
The beaches and water were amazing. The hotel's private beach was worth it. Plenty of white sand and turquoise water. The chairs are soft with tops you can adjust for sunning, no charge. They have staff on the beach to help and water activities right there for you. My only complaint was there was no real service for drinks or food on the beach. Would have been nice to get a drink while tanning. The wind from the ocean is nice and there are plenty of waves for the listening. Be careful, I an easy tanner but had trouble with this sun...it is strong and will get you good if you are not careful. A few vendors but not as bad as most places.
Did some diving with ECO divers (Andrew), they were great. All in all, a nice place but i think the hard bed may be a deal breaker for me...my neck was stiff for a week.

Room Tip: room 310 had great views

We are here on our honeymoon. I am in my room right now. Up early again to the sound of the construction. So our honeymoon mornings have started with a headache everyday.

We heard about trips to Crystal Cove. They allow 10 visitors per day and you have to wake up early to get online to make the cut. I stood there from 7:30am, was 3rd on line, and didn't make it. I find that to be quite unfair. Especially when I have a disability that makes standing in one spot for a long time very painful.

Room- The junior suite ocean view- view is gorgeous, suite not so much. Looks very old, outdated, uncomfortable, I don't feel like I'm on my honeymoon at all.

Entertainment- they usually have a band/singers that go on for about 2 hours and that's it. It's a family resort so you can forget about up all night fun- not gonna happen here

Food- food is ok, annoying that you need to make dinner reservations in the morning, and if the restaurant you chose is full, you're limited to the buffet. And birds fly everywhere including on your plate, and they pooped right on the chair next to me while I was eating.

Ocean- what a gorgeous ocean! Don't think about swimming in it- red flag waving every single day for dangerous waters

Sevice- during dinner if the waitress asks to get u a drink better get it yourself. Takes longer for them to get it. On the beach I have never been asked if I want a beverage, have to go get one inside at the bar. We were also told "are you sure this is where you want your beach chair, because if u change your mind I don't want to come here and move it again"- RUDE

Overall seems like everyone else loves it here, I think maybe it's just not for honeymooners and fine for family vacations. Honeymooners- go somewhere else- with a bigger shower and comfortable beds! And peace and quiet! And swimmable waters!
FYI we've been making the best of it and haven't complained. After all we don't see any solution so what's the point. Just wanted to advise the honeymooners, this could put a damper on your mood.

We really enjoyed our latest visit to Turtle Beach but would point out that there is building work going on at Sandals next door which was a bit of a nuisance being woken every morning by workmen.
Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful but must especially mention Hermanius and Nigel on the concierge desk who are great and so cheery, Maradonna with his drinks service and wonderful smile and of course Captain Sam and his boys who are always ready to get you a sun bed and towels.
The new furnishings in the Waterfront rest. are very nice, and the lunches just fine. We really enjoyed the a la carte dinners there and the bar b q on the beach .
The buffets in the Chelonia were a bit boring and sadly the Asiagos , even with its new decor, still lacks atmosphere and the quality of the food is no where near as good as the Waterfront.
Some of the rooms have been repainted but some are showing signs of age and for a hotel of this price range these need to be renovated before too long.
Both my son and I had a massage there and can really recommend that.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms on the 4th floor have a lovely view but at the moment are near the building work.

Just returned from our first time in Barbados, we booked it for our wedding and honeymoon, stayed for just short of 3 weeks.

All the staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and always done with a smile!

The hotel is very clean, housekeeping visited everyday to clean the room and they would call by in the evening to see if you needed anything else done, so were never short of clean towels!

Our room was a junior suite with an ocean view and it was amazing wakening up to that view every morning! Plenty space to hang clothes etc. The room came with a safe, hair dryer and iron. The over the bath shower in our room was great and powerful!

A massive thank you to the wedding planning team, Rosalind, Shinead & Juliette for making our wedding day very special.

Also thank you to Rodney and his team for providing us with a delicious intimate dinner on the day, the menu was fantastic and cooked to perfection! Sherrie-Ann our waitress on the day was fantastic! We had the most amazing day and couldn't have wished for anything more!

We used colorbox photography for our wedding, our photographer Hans was good he listened to what we wanted.

The food was fantastic and plenty choice! Thank you to Donna for the last minute reservation at the waterfront!

The jacuzzi at the pool was great! And captain Sam's and his crew were very attentive!

All in all this was the best holiday/wedding/honeymoon and can't wait to go back to the Turtle Beach Resort again soon!

The hotel is very good they cannot do enough for you from the restaurant staff to the the cleaners bar staff and management team. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable some with mini bar included. The restaurants provide a good selection of food with a different theme for the buffet each night. The water sports staff are very friendly and go out there way to make sure you enjoy yourself and you are safe whilst doing activities, the drinks are free flowing and don't skimp on measures beware of the rum punch it is potent. Stopped here in May for our 30th wedding anniversary the hotel provided a complimentary bottle of champagne to help us celebrate

Room Tip: Look at the suites. garden views all near the pool and the bar

Hi have just returned from a week at the turtle and once again it did not disapoint. The service is fantastic and all the staff wonderful especially Maradonna, with drinks and service with a smile, also Suesette in main restuarant with her cheese sandwiches late at night and the wonderful house keeping , rooms were spotless and service with a smile and of corse the beach guys, Capt Sam and buddies. We have been to the hotel twice before and absolutly love it. We did see the work being carried out next door at sandles but it did not interfer with our stay at all no noise or distruption. We agree wih another review that the food in the buffet has been scaled down in choice but found everything on offer to be of a good standard, we ate at all 3 restuarants and loved them all. It was quite busy whilst we were there and found getting sunbeds by pool a little of a problem, had to get up early to get the ones we wanted, but on the beach plenty of sunbeds and availabilty throughout the day. We met Tracesse, guest relations manageress, and she was very helpful and welcoming. We particully enjoyed the fruit and champagne in the room for our anniversary. Top resort and another fantastic stay/ holiday. Cant wait to return. Thanks all for a great time.
