I was surprisingly pleased that Fred's met all expectations arising from the Trip Advisor reviews to date.. On the street in Oistins among many competing places to eat, you will find Fred's pretty much across the street from KFC. So,upon arriving by van-taxi for two Barbados dollars, only had to cross over to get to Freds. By the way, Barbados drivers have been very good about stopping for Pedestrians to let them cross safely. I walked up and said "are you Angela?" as if I actually knew her, and then the friendly lady assured me I was in the right spot. So , she makes us right at home; please realize this is all outdoors and the table is next to the street on the sidewalk ...and spreads a nice cloth tablecloth over the picnic table. We had already chosen the seared MahiMahi with ginger. I just asked Angela what was good tonight and rolled with it. Comes with salad and some really nice plantains, fried, but not too sweet and not too green. The fish was generous and was served with three condiments on the side, consisting of ketchup, ranch dressing or hot sauce. All on ceramic dishes . While we were there more tourists came to sit and many locals came for takeout. Angela showed me her "bar babies" which are photos of her kids hanging behind the bar. I'm going to recommend this place for casual dining that's good for you and will make you feel that you got a good deal.
