We had our wedding in the dolphin bay on 1st june 2013 it was a greek irish affair and we couldnt be happier with the way everything went!! We had guests from all different countries and continents, new zealand, australia, america, holland, ireland, italy, greece and all said it was the best wedding they ever attended. Everyone loved the venue, in its picturesque setting! The staff were unbelievably accommadating, friendly and helpful! We were greeted with a smile and restaurant reccommendation everyday! The staff never stopped smiling even when we kept them up til 6.30am with guitar playing and singing!!! The cleaners were in and out in a jiffy leaving only a pleasant smell behind them. As for the food, all was delicious 2 of our guests were chefs and they were very impressed. The place is organised very well and all staff speak english to a very high standard, the management very friendly and helpful and reember you :-) the huge swimming pool and new twisty water slide brought everyone back to their childhood, big and small kids had a blast going up and down all day. The beach is a stones throw away along with beautiful prefumed flowery grounds. Overall, all i can say is they made our days there perfect! Thank you dolphin bay and we hope to come back before the year is out!!! Linda and evangelos C :-)

We arrived by chance and had a lovely room overlooking the beautiful bay of Galissas. The Hotel has lovely well maintained gardens and a superb swimming pool.
The staff could not be more helpful, especially George in the restaurant (despite being a Chelsea supporter!) The buffet breakfast was first class.
If you want a quiet, relaxing beach holiday this is the place to come.

We stayed recently in this hotel having half board for more than a week. This was the second time I stayed there, the previous one being more than a decade ago.

Overall happy with the experience of staying there. It's main advantage and the reason for choosing it was its location which is next to best beach of Syros, which is also perfect for young children as it is sandy and deepening very slowly. The people working have been very helpful and friendly and these include the people in reception, restaurant, bar, bell boy and cleaning ladies. There were lots of facilities mainly for children (3+ years) including playground, kids movies and swimming pool. Quality of food was ok, nothing great though. The room was so and so, okay in terms of space but with a very small veranda which if you pay significantly more for a sea view you want to enjoy. The room was not thoroughly cleaned when we checked in but a call in the reception fixed it.

I would stay again and I recommend it but for families that have children that are at least three year old. It can be also a good hotel for couples but be advised that is full of families

The location was fantastic just by the beach, and a room with a sea view was great. The pool area was large and never felt crowded and the kids loved the fact that there was free popcorn and ice cream all day long by the pool. The breakfast buffet was ok. We never had dinner at the hotel, we went to the tavernas in the village.

The room was pretty basic but clean.

I would definitely come back again.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view!

The hotel is absolutely wonderful and if you manage to book a superior room with view on the beach then it is certain that you are going to live a dream!!! The room is as spacious as needed, there is fridge and air condition which are very important for summer time. The cleaning is good, they change towels every day and there are ready to assist you if any problem comes out. The reception is very courteous and willing to help you in any way. There are elevators that can take you in any level of the hotel, as it is built in a amphitheatrical way on a cliff so it gives you an unbelievable view of the area and most of all of the sea. The food is very good and tasty. The pool is big enough and there is a safeguard all time. The sea is wonderful, sandy and clean, excellent. My friend and me had wonderful time there and we are looking forward to go back again!!! We have just loved the place!

The staff at Dolphin bay were great and very friendly. The breakfast was a rather disappointing buffet; plenty of choice but the tomatoes and feta. were bland; my favorite breakfast in Greece, a Greek salad, was unachievable with the items available. However, this wasn't too big a deal. The rest of the experience was very good and we enjoyed the Hotel. The sea view chalet style rooms were large and well equipped. The nearby beach was lovely and uncrowded - in early June. The pool is lovely and the bars are friendly. We put the car on the ferry to Tinos for one night and found the island delightful. We found accomodation overlooking a harbour in a small town. Well worth the effort.
Now, the awful Olympic bit. We flew in to Mykonos with Olympic Holidays from Manchester. When we arrived we were told that we were booked in to a Hotel in Mykonos as we couldn't get the Ferry to Syros. I complained as I new the Ferry was not leaving for another hour. The Olympic rep said they had to do this because if a flight was delayed, it would be too late to get the ferry and organise alternative accommodation, so they always did this. I told him to s*d off and give me our ferry tickets, we would go to the port and the Hotel on our own. He finally agreed to take us on the coach to the port. We arrived in Syros picked up our car and drove to the Hotel. We upgraded our room as we had asked olympic for a sea view and were surprised when the booking came through and said it was not sea view. We paid an extra 10 euros per day and were happy to get both a view and a much larger and better room. The receptionist said that the Olympic rooms were very basic compared. .
We realized that the ferry/plane time would be a real problem on the way home too so we accepted that we would need to leave Syros a day early. We were taken by a rather uncomfortable, very filled mini bus, to an inferior hotel some way from the beach and Mykonos town. I was surprised to learn that most of the passengers in the mini bus were staying in Galissas and were also expecting 7 nights in Syros. Furthermore, they had all spent the first night in this same hotel, a fate we would have shared had we not complained when our Manchester flight landed. They said they had been surprised that the coach took two guests, my wife and I to the port and they could see the ferry for Syros but didn't complain All together I can only say that Olympic should not be selling this holiday as 7 nights at the Dolphin Bay when they are so plainly giving only 5 nights; disgraceful.
To sum up, we had a lovely time, enjoyed Syros and the Dolphin Bay Hotel, loved the night in Tinos and despite the unwanted night in Mykonos had a lovely time in Mykonos town with dinner over looking the harbour, laughing at all the crusties coming off the cruise boats in droves. Olympic, however, are a disgrace and are offering 7 night holidays with 4 days traveling and 2 nights in inferior accommodation on a different Island miles from anywhere.

This was our second visit to Syros! Many years ago we stayed in aristocratic Hermoupolis only (early spring) and now we wanted to see the island's beaches and villages.
We couldn't do better than staying at the Dolphin Bay (checked around a lot)!!!
Galissas beach is beautiful with fine sand and a few trees, the resort overlooks the beach and has lush gardens, traditional architecture (Cycladic white and blue buildings spread around a large estate) and a large (deep and very clean) swimming pool with a water slide for fun!
Nice bar, main restaurant and a tavern, all with nice views! Freddo espresso 3 euros!
We found a bargain price (45 euros) for a superior seaview room with breakfast (good breakfast, variety, only juice was of bad quality), so we had the best value for money!!!
Early June is a good month if you don't want families and crowds. Even with a wedding on Saturday night we had no problem at all (no loud music).
The room is large and clean, freshly paint, renovated bathroom (with bathtub), a balcony with gorgeous views (the sea, the gardens, the little church Agia Pakou, the village...). We stayed at a high placed building (G) and we didn't mind walking past the gardens to go down to the beach, the pool or the restaurant. For people who don't want to walk there are 2 lifts (small) or ask for a lower placed room. You can also drive up for the luggage (we had a motorcycle, so it was easy to park when we wanted to go straight up late at night).
Service was very good everywhere, polite and friendly people working hard to take care of us. We had a small problem with the TV and the technician came immediately!
A small bottle of water for welcome was a nice touch too!
Only negative the old TV (box) and not so beautiful chairs (bed was OK, but no decorations opposite side, totally empty walls and space with a small table for the TV).
Pool sunbeds also need change.
For the families it's a very good vacation spot (children up to 16 stay and eat free, even all inclusive) at a fair price! For couples I'd recommend low and mid season only!
