“Lovely Family Holiday with very friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

Having easily made the 1415 ferry from Mykonos (book a taxi in advance from the airport) having landed on Easyjet at 1305, the hotel looked after us very well from Maria in reception who was just brilliant and couldn't do enough for us from start to finish even going to the ferry office to pick up my tickets for our trip back to Mykonos - always smiling and wanting to ensure we had a great holiday.

Then there was Helena in the shop - always smiling, offering advice and making us feel so special.

Elpeida in the bar - what a worker - always looking to see if somebody needed a drink - we asked for drinks she'd never heard of but she still made them for us - just brilliant.

Finally George in the restaurant - never a day off, working all shifts, keeping the restaurant flowing when the hotel was pretty full and despite supporting a shocking football team (Chelsea) - we had some great conversations on sport, politics, anything.

The waiting staff had mixed capability but were always pleasant and the ladies that made up our rooms did so diligently with a great attention to detail.

If I had one criticism, it would be to do with the lady who served behind the pool bar - never smiling, always thinking she was doing us a favour - that was a shame as was the fact that the pool bar at night was double the price of anywhere else in Gallissas - we chose not to go especially as the entertainment never changed!!

We are a family with three kids aged between 9 and 14 and stayed for 18 nights. A side trip to Athens for a couple of days flying from Syros airport was brilliant and worthwhile.

Room Tip: As a family with older children, we booked two rooms next to each other which had a large shared bal...

This hotel is perfect for families with children. Located directly across the street from Gallisas beach. Many restaurants are also within walking distance. Kids loved the unlimited popcorn and ice cream by the pool. Hotel was safe enough to give our kids ages 9 and 10 a little freedom. They could play ping pong, hang by the pool or play video games in the reception area. Rooms are kind of average but we were hardly in them. Live music ever night by the pool except on Mondays. Breakfast was a free for all, especially if you got there close to 10am. I would not recommend this hotel for couples....but perfect for families with kids from months old to 13 years old.

We stayed there in August 2013 with my family (2 kids). The room were dirty enough , the WI-FI didn't operated , the food were good looking but with pure quality.

The swimming pool had a girl for lifeguard duties who departed the pool at 18:30 when the slide closed. From 18:30 to 19:00 when the pool closed the children were unprotected !!!

The beach had sea chairs and umbrellas but with an additional fair of 7 euros.

The sea view is only for few rooms but the money charges are for sea view.

The room approach is an adventure with old elevators, stairs etc.

The music from the swimming pool live event sounds for 100 miles and maybe more all night long.

Please close it and renovate it. (the facilities and your customer's care system).

Was a little apprehensive about staying here for 8 night as we were 9 adults and 4 children aged 5,7,11 and 14, but no need to worry. This hotel was was excellent for everybody of all ages and was in an excellent location,The receptionists were very kind and helpful, and the restaurant and bar were very good. Eleni, who runs the hotel shop was also very friendly and will even teach you some Greek. The rooms we had were in different areas of the complex. We had 2 family rooms, each had 2 bedrooms and plenty of space, and 3 studios, which were also spacious and were cleaned daily. The studios which are surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees, were in an elevated location, but there is a lift if you dont want to climb up the stairs or walk up the hill. This hotel is mainly used by Greek families, and the restaurant was a little noisy, but had a great atmosphere and everyone was very friendly. No hen or stag parties at the hotel, just couples and families having a good time and a perfect place for children. The pool area was clean and you can walk from the pool to the beach in seconds. Galissas is a small village with a few shops, restaurants and bars. We found the restaurant Savvas to be excellent, also the small sports bar has a couple of Sky Sports channels and a pool table. Syros has lots of lovely beaches and restaurants to explore which are easily reached by bus, costing around 1.70euros each wherever you go. The main town of Hermoupolis is well worth a visit, although it is busy, there is lots to see. In the evening, when it is cooler, you can wander along the narrow streets or port side, or stop for a drink and a bite to eat at one of the many taverns. We reached Syros by flying to Mykonos and taking the ferry the same day. The Dolphin Bay hotel arranged a bus to pick us up at the port for a cost of 30 euros for the 13 of us. On our return journey, we stayed in Mykonos overnight to enable us to get the lunch time flight back and this was a perfect way to end our holiday. We will definitely return to the Dolphin Bay hotel.

The only good thing about this hotel is the staff. Rooms are very old and not clean. The reception is old, loud and gloomy. It took me over 10 minutes to climb to my room which was far from the reception and had to take 2 old and creaky elevators. Breakfast was loud and poor. The pool area does not look clean. Would definitely not stay here again.

Ok place if you are on a family trip. Pretty big resort with the rooms spread some around. (If you have problems walking this is not the place for you!)

Takes about 20 minutes taxi drive from the pier to get there.

Some mixed feelings about this hotel as I am not very fond of this kind of resorts but worth mentioning is that we were welcomed by maybe the most wonderful receptionist ever. Fantastic!

The apartment we lived in was nice. Spacious and clean. Small porch is the only drawback. (Make sure you ask for a big porch when reserving the room. )

It was crowded when we visited the place making the breakfast nearly looking like a warzone. The food was ok but I’m not fond of lining up in queues to get my food. The tavern located in the hotel is more like a café. Most of the dishes served were ready made and tasted like it also. I recommend too visit one of the nearby tavern’s for a greater food experience.

The beach is located joust meters away if you don’t fancy the pool but like nearly or other beaches in Greece they charge you well to rent the sunbeds.

We stayed for a week as part of a wedding party and it would be difficult to pick holes with the overall experience at the hotel.
Ferry times were awkward and with children it was long and difficult to get there and we left a day early due to the same reason but the hotel were very helpful in assisting us financially and practically to spend night at Mykonos. It was really worth it to make the effort.
Mainly Greeks at hotel which made it feel less international than at many mainstream hotels and the better for it. Good beaches near to hotel and nearby. The island capital is only 25 minutes away and very attractive and lively in a Greek way rather than the headline British way abroad.
Hotel very quick to respond to requests and good standard of facilities and cleanliness. Enough good eating places in Galissalas to complement Hotels offerings.
Super pool and children loved water slide. Breakfast busy and plentiful perhaps a little more variation needed and there could have been a little more organised activities for older children without the need to change the feel of the hotel. Great experience and great value.
