We had a great 7 day holiday at Dolphin Bay Hotel first week in Sept However the room given to us at first was a very dark small room on ground floor as we had stated beforehand at travel agents we would want a 2nd floor room.... after talking to Maria at reception we were given a wonderful room in block H with sea & country views fantastic loved it..... Breakfast although busy lots to choose from a wonderful display of food plus cakes George manager made sure everyone was catered for.....We did not go half board but 6 Tavernas close by Savvas was very good though when we checked bill a 4.95 euros was added to the bill not gratuities but he said his tax bill that he had to pay on the meal...seems we paid it not him......Syros is a great place to chill out also took buses to Kini & Finika and town of Ermoupolis .......wonderful Island !!
The only hiccup was with Olympic holidays rep at Mykonos when landing at 1.15 pm he proceeded to give us ferry tickets for our onward journey to Syros for 8.45 pm nearly 8 hour wait he said just go into Mykonos with luggage have sit down nice lunch/ dinner.....Fortunately I had checked ferry time tables on PC before our journey there was a ferry to Syros via Tinos at 2.15 pm so told the unhelpful Rep after words were exchanged to take us to port straight away for that 2.15 pm ferry which we caught with 10 mins to spare ... We had to buy our own ferry tickets as it was a different ferry company to the tickets given to us by Rep but only 11 euros each worth it than hanging around in the hot weather for nearly 8 hours...... We arrived at Syros port an hour later .. then had to find a taxi to Hotel not a problem arrived hotel at 3.30 pm great .!!.... so don't be fobbed off at airport by Rep if you have time to catch 2.15 pm ferry to Syros it's only 5 mins by taxi from airport to port.....We would have spent far more euros having lunch /dinner /drinks in Mykonos plus we wouldn't have arrived at Syros until after 10.30 pm everything closed for food etc....... We had booked a twin centre holiday so after a week spent another great week in Mykonos wonderful !!!! 2 weeks holiday after hiccups

Room Tip: choose room 545 high up on hill... not a problem though as there are lifts to the top wonderful vie...

I had my wedding reception at this hotel (and invited 80 guest mainly from the UK, the majority who stayed at the hotel with their families). I can't thank the staff enough who were so friendly and helpful. Our honeymoon suite was perfect, with amazing views out to the mountains and sea. The food was outstanding (breakfast pretty busy when we arrived around 9am most mornings) but we were there peak season at the end of July. The children absolutely loved the play areas, baby and big pool, especially the water slide and the beach is a step away for those who prefer the sand. The manager was incredible and sorted out our transfers and hotel for our return to Mykonos when our private charter (which we had organised ourselves) was unable to travel because of the weather. They didn't even charge our party (a large number) for our last night's stay. I can't recommend this hotel enough. We will certainly be returning.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are incredible.

Just returned from two weeks stay . Stayed on garden view ground floor apartment , surrounded by pretty gardens blocks at varying heights with views across to the beach (from those with balconies) bed and breakfast basis pretty good good selection of cold and hot food available ( Greek style not full English ) staff always friendly and helpful , pool area great pool bar , steps down to beach . In with cost is air conditioning and safe which was a bonus , as it is hot! .
One lift up to level one which we were on , other levels reached by steps . can trek up to small church great views from there and small archeological site of old town .Bus to ermopolis check timetables as they go both ways from town same cost and one way round takes over an hour , taxi about 10 euros to port.
No organised tours on island ( except an island tour, recommend with tours to go at port) but easy to get ferries to other islands .

We stayed at the Dolphin Bay resort for two weeks and can honestly say we could not fault anything. Although this resort is quite a big complex with 130+ rooms, we were made to feel as individual as anyone else with helpful staff throughout. In particular, Maria on reception is a gem, always smiling and offering advice, George is a great restaurant manager who must be running on batteries as he's always working hard to make sure guests are kept well fed. And then there's the lovely Elpida on the bar, this girl has had one day off work this year - need we say any more?! She always offers a warm smile, with the most pleasant manner, she is a huge asset for the hotel. Another big plus is the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel. We've been to many Greek islands over the years but have never found a hotel to be so clean, fresh towels and bedding every day, pool and other hotel areas perfectly clean. As for Galissas as a resort, I have read some other reviews of the hotel and area and from our experience can not agree with the negative one's. the resort is small and friendly with a long sandy beach and shallow bay that is great for kids and families.

Subject to an earlier review, I'm not familiar with any resort that provides beach loungers for free (unless the beach is owned by the resort) and at just a few euro's, it's good value. Marious on the beach is a great guy who'll look after you. The sunset taverna was probably our favourite restaurant, Costa's and his family run the place and offer great value food with helpful, friendly service with plenty of choice. George moto is just around the corner if you need care or bike hire.

There are a handful of tavernas in easy walking distance, with a few shops, bars and handy bus stop. The breakfast at the Dolphin Bay was superb, lots of freshly cooked food, lots of choice ... all in all, we had a great time in Galiassas and the staff at Dolphin Bay really made our holiday - thank you to you all!

We stayed there from August 27th till September 6th.
The beach was beautiful but a little bit crowded in August, much less in September. The sea was clean and quite right for children since it was shallow enough. The bay was well protected from the wind, although we had som windy days, anyway bearable.
The complex was beautiful, the rooms nice and clean considering the greek standards.
The restaurant was very good with plenty of choice.
The pool was nice also, but very crowded during the first days of our stay. The kids loved the water slide. They could have free ice-creams and pop-corn anytime they wanted to. The lifeguard girl was very helpful but she was almost off during the last days of our stay.
The staff (hotel, bar and restaurant) was very kind and gentle.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and island to everyone, especially to families.

Having easily made the 1415 ferry from Mykonos (book a taxi in advance from the airport) having landed on Easyjet at 1305, the hotel looked after us very well from Maria in reception who was just brilliant and couldn't do enough for us from start to finish even going to the ferry office to pick up my tickets for our trip back to Mykonos - always smiling and wanting to ensure we had a great holiday.

Then there was Helena in the shop - always smiling, offering advice and making us feel so special.

Elpeida in the bar - what a worker - always looking to see if somebody needed a drink - we asked for drinks she'd never heard of but she still made them for us - just brilliant.

Finally George in the restaurant - never a day off, working all shifts, keeping the restaurant flowing when the hotel was pretty full and despite supporting a shocking football team (Chelsea) - we had some great conversations on sport, politics, anything.

The waiting staff had mixed capability but were always pleasant and the ladies that made up our rooms did so diligently with a great attention to detail.

If I had one criticism, it would be to do with the lady who served behind the pool bar - never smiling, always thinking she was doing us a favour - that was a shame as was the fact that the pool bar at night was double the price of anywhere else in Gallissas - we chose not to go especially as the entertainment never changed!!

We are a family with three kids aged between 9 and 14 and stayed for 18 nights. A side trip to Athens for a couple of days flying from Syros airport was brilliant and worthwhile.

Room Tip: As a family with older children, we booked two rooms next to each other which had a large shared bal...

This hotel is perfect for families with children. Located directly across the street from Gallisas beach. Many restaurants are also within walking distance. Kids loved the unlimited popcorn and ice cream by the pool. Hotel was safe enough to give our kids ages 9 and 10 a little freedom. They could play ping pong, hang by the pool or play video games in the reception area. Rooms are kind of average but we were hardly in them. Live music ever night by the pool except on Mondays. Breakfast was a free for all, especially if you got there close to 10am. I would not recommend this hotel for couples....but perfect for families with kids from months old to 13 years old.
