Better than expected. In mid May 2014, there were a few guests only, very quiet, pool most time for me alone. Breakfast okay. Most TV stations snowing effects. Friendly and competent staff. Good arrangement mit sister Famiana Resort for beach.

This was one of the few times I was misled by the ratings on Tripadvisor and the reviews of this hotel.

The pros:
It is in a very pretty location and there is a lovely pool. The staff are polite and helpful and will genuinely do their best to accommodate you. The rooms are clean and charming with that "rustic" feel.

The cons:

Comfort was a major issue. The air-conditioning was inadequate in my deluxe room. The ceiling is very high and the small unit that is in the room did not work well enough to keep the room cool. You have to keep the bathroom door shut if you expect any chance of maintaining a comfortable temperature in the room. I've had this problem before in Vietnam and I dread it. Units working like fans do not provide proper air-conditioning. I asked to change rooms but the second room was exactly the same. It was only after an hour or so that the temperature started to drop.
The pool was lovely but the water was *really* warm... on the verge of being hot. Not at all refreshing.
The furniture on the balcony consists of bamboo chairs and a table. They are very pretty to look at but very uncomfortable to sit on. They're also very heavy and take up the width of the balcony so it puts you off sitting there.
The hotel is out in the sticks and Phu Quoc is such a beautiful island with some of the best beaches I've ever seen. You can solve this by hiring a motorbike to explore and using the place as a base which is what I ended up doing. I never used the facilities at the resort by the sea so I can't comment about that. Nevertheless, the place to be at sunset was down on the beach. I used to drive to Mai Spa beach and enjoy some of the most magnificent sunsets I've ever seen. Relatively empty beaches, no vendors and unspoilt beauty.

In short, if you want a place to relax with a pool then Famina Village is for you. However Phu Quoc is a beautiful island with so much to see. From primary rainforests to golden sandy beaches and stunning sunsets. I was afraid of staying on Long Beach as I thought it would be too busy. I was wrong! Next time I'll be staying on the beach.

Room Tip: Check the air-con before you unpack.

Phu Quoc is a nice place to wind down and relax in Vietnam and this hotel is a really nice place to stay.
The rooms are little bungalows surrounding the pool with lots of plants and trees within the grounds. It's very jungle-esque.
The bungalows have huge beds, nice bathrooms and good air con which is really needed. The breakfast was good and we had lunch one day which was also very nice.
The pool area is great but you also have access to the beach and pool facilities of the other Famiana hotel over the road which gives you some variety.
The service in the hotel is fantastic. I left my iPad on the plane and the reception staff were lovely and so helpful even making calls in Vietnamese on my behalf.
The hotel is slightly further away from the main area which is where the night market is, however you need to take a taxi no matter which hotel you stay in and the extra cost is literally pennies.

Comfortable and spacious bungalows set amid a pretty garden round a large rectangular pool, (great for lap swimming early morning.) Very good value for money, especially as you can make use of the facilities of the Famiana Hotel and beach across the road.Nemo's restaurant down the road is very handy, excellent food with very reasonable prices. we also found some good restaurants and bars further down the beach. A taxi into town is 70,000 interesting night market but nothing to rave about, there are better restaurants closer to the hotel and out of town.

Escaped the typhoon to this island, very pleased I did.

Still very much undeveloped it offers peace and tranquility. This hotel is right on the beach and offers an array of activities, very tranquil, lovely gardens and great value for money.

The staff here are exceptional and go above and beyond. Always trying to assist.

We stayed here 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Our bungalow was very comfortable, clean, spacious and had a lovely rustic charm. The staff were very helpful and friendly and when we hired a moped from them, advised on the best routes to take around the island. The outdoor restaurant in the garden was very nice and there was a good selection of food for breakfast. The thing we liked most were the gardens, which were so lush, giving a lovely feeling of peace and tranquility. The pool was also a great size.
The hotel was a distance from the town and it would have been nice to have a few more bars and restaurants within walking distance but the nicest restaurant we went to was Nemo's and the town is only a short taxi ride away.
We would have liked to stay longer and this was one of our favourite hotels in Vietnam. .

When we checked in the staff was very friendly and helpfull with all our queries. The rooms are nice enough, nothing fancy but everything you want. It's clean and has a safe deposit box, tv and comfy bed.
There is a large swimming pool in the middle of the resort and you can use the beach and pool facilities of the Famiana resort just acros the road.
It's about 6 KM from the town centre but the reception is always willing to call a taxi and its about 70.000 to the centre (3.5 USD). It's a nice place to stay and we will go back there whenever we're over.
