We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is beautiful, has it own beach and bungalows but is a bit overpriced. We had to pay $110 per night and it's not worth it. Breakfast is ok, but they ran out of food everyday. So you have to wake up early. Same with the beachtowels provided by the hotel. Also not enough, so if you're planning on going to the beach at 10, no towels left for you. The bar ran out of alcohol too. So no cocktails for you to sip whilst enjoying the lovely sunset from the beach.

Then the rooms. Ok, but again not worth the money. Hard beds with dirty (or with brown/red stains) sheets in it that the staff refused to change, because it wasn't dirty, just some color... Shower didn't have much warm water and just a lazy bit of water coming down. A bit hard for us ladies to wash your (long) hair properly.
The windows have holes and cracks so bugs will fly in constantly. There is a good airco.

We didn't eat at the restaurant because of all the bad reviews. But there are plenty of lovely restaurants at a few minutes walk along the beach.

Last thing, you have to pay in advance. We know why, because you just don't want to pay all the money after your stay here. :-) I'll recommend you another hotel, this one is ok but overpriced.

Me and my family are frequent Asia travellers with over 20 trips the last 15 years. This year we decided to visit Vietnam and Phu Quoc. We booked Arcadia 9 nights during new year and payed in advance (they demanded prepayment).
We arrived the 30 dec. We where really surprised when they didn't have any rooms for us. They where over booked and informed us that we could check in next day. When we meet other guests we understood that we wasn't the only one didn't got the room we booked. I asked the front office to speak with the manager and find a solution. The manager wasn't there and the front office staff didn't now what to do. Our contact in Saigon helped us to find two rooms for one night.
Next day we went back and got our rooms. Two nice bungalows.

This day was new year and we payed 70 usd for buffet and new year party. It started at 19,00 and we came around 19.30. At that time the buffet was a complete mees and the staff didnt know what to do. On the beach the gardner run the BBQ, he served raw fish and burned Squid. Twenty minutes into new year all staff suddenly started to take all table and chairs away and closed the restaurant.

In the coming days we realized that this is a hotel with NO management at all. Nothing worked and then i mean nothing except for the front desk where three young girls' really tried to do their best. The restaurant was a complete disaster, we lost things in the laundry and no one seemed to care about all customers.
When we decided to leave Arcadia the unvisible manager demanded us to pay for the first night, the night when we didn't got our rooms. During our stay i asked the manager to contact me but he didn't.

So my advise to the owner CHANGE MANAGER or this hotel will not have any guests in the future. And to all of you that think of making a reservation at Arcadia, dont. There are a lot of other nice hotels close by.

My stay at Arcadia Phu Quoc Resort was amazing. I got a room with direct view to the beach, fully equipped with all modern facilities and a lovely balcony only 30 meters from the water. I really enjoyed the stay.

When i was there it was in rainy season, so there were some hours every day where it poured from heaven, but with a nice TV and good company that was no issue.

The island was amazing (and the only place in Vietnam where foreigners can own land) many things to see, the Vietnam war prison camp, the famous fish sauce factories and of course the many great beaches with palm trees..

It was a truly fantastic experience

We stayed at the resort for 4 nights in Nov 2013. The resort has the potential to be lovely but there are a few issues that left a bit of a stain on our otherwise lovely time in Phu Quoc.

So first the good points:

- Nice looking resort, clean and well presented with nice beach and comfy sun loungers / plenty of shade etc.
- Cleanest part of the beach on this stretch of Long Beach
- Good breakfasts

And the drawbacks:

- Staff are poorly organised to the point we had to move rooms due to double booking. Waiting staff are not terribly interested. Nobody speaks great English.
- Rooms vary quite drastically, having stayed in 3 there of varying prices we would have said the mid-priced garden view bungalow was the nicest, not necessarily the top of the range ocean view one!
- Beds were hard in all three rooms
- Food at the restaurant for lunch and dinner not great (luckily you have many other options nearby)

So in summary the resort is attractive looking with a nice beach but your room may/may not let you down. Our tip is Garden View Bungalow 12, that was our favourite. Unfortunately they moved us out of it after 1 night because of a double booking..

The rooms are big and to a high standard. Everything was clean and well organised. The facilities are OK, the restaurant is on the beach and this is where the breakfast is served, which was a nice place to sit. The food wasn't very good with limited choice, but this didn't really affect our stay because the beach is full of cafe's and snack huts. I enjoyed this location, a walk short along the main road to the restaurants and bars. I would recommend this hotel.

The Arcadia is a beachfront property, but it needs to improve in several things.
1) the personnel, seemed quite rude or like they didn't wanted you to be there, and most of them without any knowledge of English. In case you wonder if the rudeness issue was with us, no, you can see the same attitude with every single foreign guest independently of which country they were from.
2) breakfast: really poor, at least 3 days in our stay they didn't have coffee and I had to bring some instant coffee which I previously purchased. Even funnier, they took it with them and brought me a small cup with very little coffee, so I think they also use it for other guests? No idea. You have to ask for butter, or a piece of cheese, and hope that they will understand (thanks to technology and their translation software!) The good thing is that they make very tasty omelettes and there is some local soup which is not bad.
3) Dinner: non existent. They told us that we need to ask what they have for food since many days they don't get new products (still, bars, restaurants and other hotels nearby did have a nice selection of both local and foreign food...) One day they said there was fish available. Other day, nothing. I stopped asking once I found the amount of restaurants near by.
4) Room: before going to bed, make sure that you remove all the bugs that usually will be around. At least the ones in the bed. Once it was raining so we stay in our room and we saw how they cleaned it. They didn't change the sheets... Also, don't get scared by the lizards scrolling in the walls (at least they eat the mosquitoes!)
5) Bathroom: Shower only, with almost no pressure, so it took really long to remove the sand from the beach. Just be patient (also be patient to get some hot water)
6) One day, since they didn't have any food in their restaurant and we had some leftovers from previous day from another restaurant, we kindly ask them to warm it for us. To our surprise, they charged 100.000 Vietnam Dong for just putting the food in the microwave for a few seconds... I know is not that much money, but if you DON'T offer dinner, you have a poor breakfast...I need to bring my own coffee...at least be kind enough to warm the food free of charge...
7) The beach yes, amazing. Even better than most of the hotels in the same area (I know this is just about being lucky with the tides or repairs around, but is really nice). They have some lounge chairs in the sand, and there is not that many people. They have towels available and you can get some refreshments from the bar.

If I recommend another hotel? Probably, but it all depends if you only want a very nice beach without people, or if you prefer a nice comfortable no bugs hotel.

Room Tip: The new bungalows are very nice, as well as the room number 10 with direct beach view.
