We went to south island tour and also to sunset fishing tour. Both were good: transport, water, snacks - well organised. The biggest weakness is poor english of guides. But their friendliness pays it off. To sum up: Sunny Boat Trip is highly recommended!

We ordered a private boat tour for six (not cheap by any means). The tour was supposed to include a stop over at a "secluded beach," which is basically what sold us to begin with. (We bought the tour off one of the women on the beach).

On our way to the harbor they made us stop at the pearl farm despite our request not to. We looked around for a minute but wanted to head on pretty much immediately. Back in our van, our tour guide told us we would stop there again on our way back so we could "buy something." We told him we had no interest in doing so, upon which he insisted on it, reasoning that he didn't make much money and that he would get commission on whatever we bought. We spent about fifteen minutes arguing with him, trying to make him understand that we had absolutely no intentions in buying pearls, particularly not if bullied into it.

The harbor is a pretty long van ride away from the city center. It probably took about 45+ minutes to get there.

On the boat, we made a stop to buy sea urchin. Again we said we didn't have any interest in buying them (no urchin fans in our group), but they insisted (we later just refused to eat them). We drove about, feeling incredibly uncomfortable with our rude little guide sitting on deck next to us (and occupying one of two deck chairs). Then we made a stop for fishing. Here we spent over an hour trying to catch fish (some more successful than others). We drove on a little more and ended up next to an island where we were supposed to do some snorkeling. There were a couple of other boats there too, and the water was not particularly clean, and the exciting "reef" was not something to write home about. We had lunch, which was fine (until our guide started to feed the fish the left overs of the cake we brought on board). And that was essentially it. We asked about the archipelago tour and the islands and secluded beach we were supposed to stop at, but our guide pretended he didn't understand. Unfortunately we didn't bring the paper with the program along, so our requests remained fruitless. We took the boat back to the harbor, got on the van and made a stop at Sao Beach, which was quite nice.

I do not recommend Sunny Boat, especially if you don't want to risk having a cheeky little teenage troublemaker as your guide.

After being collected from our hotel at 8.30am, we drove to the end of the driveway and sat there in the bus until 9.30am without explanation? Then eventually another bus arrived and 2 more people got in to tour bus.

After another hour of driving along a dirt track very slowly (mopeds were overtaking us) we got to the boat.

The boat was very old & definitely not maintained with a few broken deck chairs to sit on, never the less it floated!

Of the 12 Islands they claim you will see, I counted 3 and we only snorkelled at 1. We skipped lunch because we saw the condition of the kitchen where it was being prepared!

Overall we had a good day out and saw a few fish and a bit of coral, but I have seen far better coral snorkelling just on the beach.

On the way back we had to stop at the pearl farm, nobody actually wanted to though! Here there was a big shop selling pearls! And very very pushy sales staff.

I would recommend taking your own snorkelling equipment, or perhaps choose a better rated company!
