After quite some traveling through the Vietnam and Laos we were happy to go to the beach resort on phu quoc island. The phong Bingham house had exactly what we needed. The rooms are very basic but situated right next the beach. We actually spent three full days there, moving between the beach, our room and the restaurant on the beach. The cook is amazing and the restaurant was full every night. Try the red snapper... They actually are even able to shake up a good cocktail (not a given in vietnam)! Nothing more was required. :)

The beach, people and food are lovely and we had a great stay. Make sure you eat in the restaurant it has the best food at great prices. 5/5 if sun loungers more comfortable and room a little better but overall would return and recommend to others.

Find this bungalows by an accident. We were looking for something cheap but find amazing bungalows (almost) on the beach for very good price.
The Stuff is incredible friendly and willing to help you! We had flight at 8:00 pm and we could stay in our bungalow untill 4:00 pm!

Room Tip: Take Bungalow instead Rooms.

Beautiful and relativley new bungalows a footstep away from the beach. This is a small family run business and they are completely devoted to their guests. Always smiling and willing to help in any way they can. They arranged a falutless pickup from the airport and showed us straight to our room, allowing us to maximise every second. Beach towels and lounge chair covers are provided. The rooms are basic but so are all the other bungalows the key is that they are spotless and cleaned daliy. They all have lovely balconies too.

Location wise you are no more than 20 steps from the beach which ever room you stay in. Town is about a 20minute walk via the beach or the road however shops, cafes and restaurants are all along the beach and road.

As many other guests have said the restaurant at the bungalows is fantastic. Eat with your feet in the sand with some of the best food on the island. It is clearly one of the most popular venues but that doesn't mean noise. A very relaxed and quiet location.

Finally for those worried about weather: visitied 8th-12th May no rain pretty much endless sunshine and about 32deg.

We had a wonderful stay here last week. As previous reviews have said, the family are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate, smell lovely and unlike many other budget hotels in Vietnam, are cleaned everyday. We started our time on Phu Quoc at another resort further down the beach, paying $20 for a basic fan room. Phuong Binh House was $22, but absolutely worth the extra. We intended to stay for three nights and ended up staying for six. The whole place has a really good feel about it, and I don't think you'd find better value accommodation on the island.

This is a review about the restaurant at the Phuong Binh House as we didn't stay there. We got a tip from an island resident about this Sunset grill and restaurant. When we took a taxi our first night, our group was so excited by the drive down a tiny alley towards the beach... definitely seemed off the beaten path. It was great to have gotten this tip or we NEVER would have known about it. This was the best seafood we ate during our entire month long trip in SouthEast Asia. Order the WHOLE Red Snapper on the grill. Or prawns or whatever you want, we loved everything on the menu. We went back both nights we were on the island and would have gone back a third night if we had stayed longer. The lovely lady who works the grill all night was a sweetheart and the best seafood grill chef ever! I will dream having a Green Bia- beer and seafood at this restaurant until the day I can return.

Our second trip to Phu Quoc we found this amazing place, and it has restored our faith in the island. The people who own the hotel are simply lovely, they go out of their way to give you the best service possible The bungalows are simple but clean and have great balconies, the location is fabulous, and they organize anything you need: airport pick-up, motorbikes.

The best features, however, are the amazing food and great music. We tried one or two other places on the island, but nothing compares to their cooking, not to mention the lovely, feet-in-the-sea location of the restaurant. The music is provided by their in-house Canadian friend, who is great company and has a wonderful taste in music.

We stayed here a week, and if all goes well, I'm never going anywhere else on Phu Quoc again.
