I want to be fair here so will break this down into good and bad:
Good - The rooms were spacious, clean and had a good bathroom. They were cleaned daily and fresh towels given. The shower had good pressure and hot water from the solar heaters was available every evening. We were given the option of changing rooms with a balcony and better views the second day as the first room had a coffin below us. The owners gave helpful advice and tips. We were given a good motorbike at a fair price.
Bad: The electricity was off more than it was on. Because of this the AC did not work and even when the electricity was on the AC had no power - I could blow harder myself! We had a fan from the second day but the first night was terrible, we had to shower constantly throughout the night to keep cool. Because of the lack of electricity we had to go out causing more expense. It might not have been the owners fault for the electric but you cannot run a business like that - they need to get a generator. The wifi was useless. The bed was very hard (even for Vietnam standards). The nearest beach was a 15 minute walk away, the town a good 10 minute ride by motorbike - we hired a bike for the days we were there as it was cheaper than taking taxi's to the town and restaurants. For all the extra money we spent we could have got much better accommodation. The owners constantly complained of Vietnam stating the area was like 'Jurassic Park', why stay there if you don't like it?
All in all not a good stay.
