Stayed at the Chen sea for 2 weeks of our 3 week honeymoon. We decided to have a look at the 2 restaurants on the beach to make a change. Was really put off by the first place you come to - they Gav a monkey chained by the neck to a fence with a very short lead, not good at all particularly seeing the monkey so agitated by the chain.

We walked passed this place and found Thuys. What a super little place, Thuy explained she didn't have a full menu as it was becoming out of season but nevertheless cooked me a fantastic fish dinner - fresh red snapper and my wife a tofu stir fry. Very very tasty, Thuy is a lovely lady and we stayed for a long while afterwards talking to her about many aspects of life in Vietnam etc etc. we enjoyed our evening so much we went for a massage the next day (Thuy is very diverse!) and dinner a couple of nights later.

Also, the restaurant next door to Thuy aren't very nice to her - they put up big sun umbrellas to try and block the view of Thuys restaurant so tourists can't see it on the small/thin beach.

Do give Thuys place a go if you are staying at the Chen sea - highly recommended.

I was actually staying at the luxurious Chen Sea Resort and Spa next to Thuy's House with a friend. We were getting a little bored with the inflated prices in the restaurant so decided to see what lay beyond the confines of our resort. There we found Thuy and a group of people from all corners of the world who were staying with her. We were made so welcome and Thuy is an incredible woman. She is a great cook and we sampled some delicious food which she collects every day fresh from the market. Her pizza oven was not built when I was there and I would love to have tried her pizza. I can't comment on the accommodation because I did not stay there but it really is right on the beach! The sunsets are great and Thuy lights a fire and cooks her seafood right there. The setting really is idyllic and Thuy is a wonderful hostess for whom nothing is too much trouble.Don't expect luxury accommodation as it is basic but I think she is improving it all of the time from the pictures I have seen. meeting Thuy and being welcomed into her House made my stay on Phu Quoc a memorable one.

It was the greatest time of my 6 month stay in Vietnam! The place is hidden on a natural beach with white sand, awesome scenery, great food and especially very cheap! She charged us only 5$/night. It was a real adventure, there are two ways to her guesthouse: 1. the usual way from the Chen Sea Resort or 2. the adventure way trough the jungle!! She picked us up in the city, just tell her where and when, and she will organize transportation! Thuy's English is really fantastic. Unfortunately we stood only 2 weeks with 6 people. It was a lot of diving (organized by Thuy) drinking (after diving ;)) , laughing and chill. Looking forward for the next time!!!
