“Romantic setting”
Reviewed 8 May 2014 via mobile

We wanted something special and this place was just right. Picked up from Jolly Harbour to the restaurant . Beautiful views especially for the sunset. Food was good, yes on the expensive side but definitely worth paying for. My steak was perfect and husbands duck cooked pink as it should be. The creme caramal was thick and creamy with a gorgeous crunch.

“The anthesis of fine dining”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

Carpaccio of fresh catch starter was mostly lettuce. Main course cold. Service was fine at the start of the meal when the maitre D was involved, but fell down to a very disengaged and unprofessional and disinterested approach when he was busy. Staff were not that great. overall a v v disappointing experience. Dined at Sheer Rocks the night before and the 2 experiences were poles apart. Seriously, just not good enough.

“Absolutely the best meal on Antigua”
Reviewed 9 April 2014 via mobile

One of the best steaks of my life. The filet was right up with any fine US steak house such as Capitol Grill etc. perfectly prepared. Two of our party had the shrimp dish and also voted it best anywhere. The Mahi special was fresh and also well appointed. The bread selections were very good. The view is awesome. Come early for dinner and use the infinity pool until sunset. The desserts were fantastic. Exquisitely prepared chocolate lava cake with gelato was our favorite. The Caramel Gelato with premises made biscuit was also rated highly by our party of four. Moses the Sous Chef, Gregory and pastry chef Sharona are fantastic. Kudos to a team effort, also service was excellent attentive and prompt. NB. It s a high end ie pricey restaurant but well worth the expenditure.

“The closest thing to heaven!!!.....”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

Carmichaels is set high up on sugar ridge amongst the humming birds overlooking jolly harbour and beyond
Perfect for a romantic meal, we were picked up from our villa by a most affable chap and driven up to Carmichaels, as it was an end of holiday meal we pushed the boat out a little and had 2 cocktails, the Carmichaels rum cocktails and their signature champagne cocktail. Great way to start off an evening if I may suggest!!
All the tables overlook the sunset...what a backdrop to a meal, which also was its own theatre, well orchestrated by most capable staff.
We were started off with a cheeky amuse Boucher of choux pastry and lamb mousse...great textures.
To follow was Gorgonzola glazed beef fillet...mmmm. And rib eye steak, both melted into an array of very well cooked veg.
Next came the big decision as we were both soooooo satiated, .....dessert or baileys????...heck yeah...baileys every time!!
Not for those on a budget ...but truly worth every penny

“Nice setting, good but not great food”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

The setting was very nice. (although too many mosquitos) . The food was good, (probably very good for Antigua) but not great. No Children's menu, but they were able to make Pasta for the kids. Service match the food. fair prices.
Very very long wait for their shuttle to take you back to the lobby. We were not staying at the resort, but the only way I would consider ever staying at the resort would be if they gave me my own personal golf cart.
