“Beautiful Resort”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

Stayed here for a week from 9th November and had an amazing time. The resort is beautiful with grounds immaculate. We stayed in a waterfront room and it was worth the upgrade, although all rooms have some view of the sea to varying degrees. The resort is well spread out but golf carts transport you around if you do not want to walk. There's plenty to do from lazing by the pool or on the beach to playing tennis, mini golf, shuffleboard, working out in the gym to all the watersports. We took a double kayak out which was good fun. The food in all the restaurants is excellent particularly Nicole's which you pay a $30 per person supplement per person but it's well worth it. One thing to note is you have to book a day in advance for the restaurants other than Sea Breeze. A 15 minute walk from the resort is devils bridge which is a natural rock formation carved out of the rock on the Atlantic Coast. It's worth the walk. Also there is a beautiful beach 2 minutes walk from the gates of the resort called long bay beach. The sea is a lovely blue and the sand a golden and pink colour. They have a beach bar at one end if you want to grab a drink. We had a wonderful time at the verandah and met some great people. All the staff were friendly and helpful and constantly smiling and the service was excellent. We would recommend this resort highly and will definitely return at some point.

Room Tip: Waterfront rooms are worth the upgrade. For excellent views go for rooms 164 upwards. They have grea...

Stayed here to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in November. Great rooms, great food, staff very friendly and polite, we were upgraded to a sea view room and watched the pelicans diving for food, brilliant. Hope to go back soon

Room Tip: One closer to restaurant and pools as hills can be quite steep

Just returned from our 12th visit to the Verandah but not our last. Our vacation is like returning home, the staff are the reason we return nothing is to much trouble, warm, friendly and genuine. The food was great, drink choice extensive, service second to none, rooms very comfortable with great views. Only one complaint was that they had changed the brand of southern comfort to the reserve brand not up to the original standard. make sure you fill out the comment card as they do act on your suggestions. Will start planing our next trip ASAP.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the main pool if you have problems walking although golf carts are available...

I went with my cousin to this resort. It is definitely a couples resort and honeymoon resort. We spent 10 days here and the food was great, good liquors, the grounds well meticulously maintained and staff was very nice. No pool bar, each evening there is live entertainment at the main bar. They have 2 beaches both white sand and quiet. Right next to the state park with Devils Bridge. I would certainly return here.

My wife and I had a great time at the Verandah. We visited the resort from November 6th the the 13th. Can't make up your mind where to go ! then let me help. The staff are friendly, the food was very good and the grounds are extra nice and very well kept. Being it a large property, you will have to do some walking but the resort offers bus rides (golf carts) to take you here and there but do try walking folks because its good for you and it will help burn off those calories "you will" be consuming.

All the rooms are large (700 sq.ft.) and equipped with a sink, microwave & fridge. We had a nice waterview suite with the house keeping being regularly seen to.

The beaches are very nice and clean. Long Bay beach is only a short walk from the main eentrance and its definately worth a visit if you like the beach and crystal clear turquoise water. We were very fortunate to have had great weather. It only rained once and that was for five minutes. Do plan a visit to the Verandah, you will not regret it. Say hello for me (Jeff) to the hardest worker there "Mickey" Mickey works around the main pool most of the day. He rarely stops !!

If you're interested in an excursion and one that isn't too long, try swimming with the Stingrays! very good value and only takes up about 2 hours.

The only negative issue we had with the resort was shorts, sandals and T-shirts at the "a la carte" restaurant in the evenings. I do wish something would be done about that. The dress codes really should be enforced.

That's it, a great place to stay. We will definately return one day soon.

Room Tip: If you like quiet, ask for a room away from the main pool.

stayed here nov 2-nov 12. The location is terrific and property well maintained. Grounds are beautiful and very clean. Pools are immaculate and nicely positioned on the grounds.
our room was beautiful and cleaned daily to perfection. Nice balcony off back of room with seaview and private.
Food was very good and we ate buffet as well as all the other restaurants including Nicole's which was well worth the extra $30 perperson charge.Book Nicoles at least once during your stay. it is fine dining and service is excellent. Buffet is good but not a huge spread like other all inclusives- your choices are more limited. Drinks are decent depending on what you drink they do have some top shelf like Absolut,Tanqueray, but most of the time well liquor and only one beer choice.Wine is just about drinkable.
2 beaches -the quiet beach near the front of the property- didnt go here because water very mirky and saw jellyfish. Other beach is nice and lots of water sports, plenty of loungers and shaded areas. A nice beach but Long bay beach is a 5 minute walk off the property right down the road and is one of the nicest beaches I have ever been to.White sand clear water very peaceful, snorkeling right off beach, lots of fish- do go here at least once you will return daily like we did.
Gym was great and offered daily classes which were good.
Nightly entertainment was good to really good and different each night. We really enjoyed this.Drink service at night was very good and drinks even seemed better at night cosmos, martinis, champagne.
What makes this place special =the staff and management. The nicest people I may have ever met. Friendly greetings and smiles all the time and many remember your name and what you like to drink. This is a beautiful island to visit and Verandah does a very good job at making your stay an enjoyable one. I obsessively check trip advisor before I book any trip and have never been disappointed. Go and enjoy and 10 days minimum!

Room Tip: we stayed near the big pool and the restaurants and found this location very good.Gym right across f...
