My husband and I spent 2 nights in this converted railway station, and had a wonderful time. Our spacious first floor room with private bath looked out on the beautiful back gardens. The location is good - we walked the 2 km to the impressive Hammershus ruins via a lakeside trail. The petroglyphs at Helleristninger are also within walking distance. The first night we had dinner at the pension (it is only served on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) and enjoyed fresh fish, vegetables, salad, potatoes, and a delicious bacon-based gravy "only found on Bornholm." Dessert was poached pears with cream - also great. The included breakfasts were also very good with a lot of choices: cereal, yogurt, breads, cheeses, fish, meats, hard-cooked eggs, etc.
Bornholm is supposed to be the sunniest spot in Denmark, but we managed to get a cold, rainy day, which changed our original plans for bicycling. On the advice of the manager, we got a 24-hour bus pass instead and enjoyed the round church at Osterlars and stops in Ronne and Gudhjem. The other guests at the pension were mostly German and some English; we didn't encounter any other Americans at all on Bornholm. It's only 3 hours from Copenhagen via train and ferry and definitely worth the trip.
