A little jewel ,of hidden Ireland.

good parking and picnic area.

Gardens are a delight , safe for children, buggy friendly except for river walk.

Nice coffee shop and garden city.

“A little piece of heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014 via mobile

What a treat! Small toddlers, teens and Granny in tow we all loved the magic of Altamont Gardens. The swans on the lake with their signets were a particular highlight. Free entrance and close to other great local attractions-very easy to plan a great day out in this area.

“Relaxing Walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

Can't beat coming here in nice weather, is free and plenty space to seat down and walk around, the trees and plants are well looked after and you can always get ideas what would you like in your own garden, there is also a shop with plants&trees.

“A must visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

On the recommendation of the son of the proprietor of the nearby Rathwood Garden centre, we paid a visit to the Altamont Gardens. While not gardeners, it was a fabulous tranquil experience. we walked all around the gardens and down by the Lilly pond and down to the river. There were plants and shrubs from around the world and lovely seating areas to take it all in. A beautiful walled garden and restaurant are also there, and there was no charge to enter. "Get away from it all here and you will feel the better from it". A truly wonderful spot not to be missed.
